Chapter 55 "I love you too, Tata." (End of text)

Bretta quickly calmed down from the situation. He realized what Chu Hui had just said. Without thinking about how Chu Hui had saved Donovan, he gave him a deep look, turned around, and quickly swung his vines and jumped towards Cheng Cheng.

The number of alien species on the rooftop gradually increased. Countless alien species from the base, drawn by the call of that frequency, were now densely climbing up the entire lighthouse structure.

Bretta listened intently for a moment, then swung out two vines to entangle herself around a nearby high railing, stabilizing herself as she hung in mid-air. She turned to Cheng Cheng and asked, "Where is the sound wave system on the lighthouse?! We must destroy it!"

Cheng Cheng quickly realized what was happening, but he didn't know where he was. His gun was out of bullets, so he simply threw it away, transformed into a ferocious snow wolf, and leaped towards Blaita, howling at him, "Get on me first!"

Chu Hui turned and fired an arrow back, then turned to them and said, "I know where it is. Let me lead the way."

Bletta and Cheng Cheng exchanged a glance and quickly nodded. Chu Hui leaped onto Cheng Cheng's tail in three quick steps, only to be tossed onto its back.

Just then, a helicopter arrived to provide backup, circling overhead: "Make way! We're about to straf them!"

After a burst of intense fire, most of the aliens were killed. Xiang You led his troops and quickly directed the crowd onto the plane.

He took one last look at Cheng Cheng, who had turned into a snow wolf, and Blaita Chuhui on his back.

Following Chu Hui's directions, Cheng Cheng turned around and quickly ran down the stairs.

It was so big that it had to be made smaller, but it was still big enough to fill the space.

Just as they reached the banquet floor, a dark shadow lashed out, smashing through the surrounding walls. Britta recognized it as Klindall's snake tail.

He hesitated for a moment, then urged Cheng Cheng to hurry up.

They raced swiftly, speeding through a dark, power-deprived stairwell on one of the floors. Their enormous, snow-white figures swept past like the wind. Whenever they encountered an alien creature, Chu Hui would shoot it through the head with an arrow.

Meanwhile, Blaita commanded Little White to throw out a rose that burst open with sharp, blade-like petals, piercing through the monster.

He would occasionally swing his short sword left and right to kill the nearby alien creatures. Cheng Cheng's feet and legs were stained with a lot of residual stench, which he shook off as he ran.

"Here?!"

This is a door with a facial recognition password. Cheng Cheng couldn't help but feel annoyed; if only he had brought a bomb.

Xiao Bai suggested, "How about we try using a corrosive solution?"

Blaita focused his attention and secreted the corrosive liquid into his hand, which then transformed into a scythe over two meters long, guiding the corrosive liquid towards the blade.

Cheng Cheng exclaimed, "The Grim Reaper's scythe! So cool!"

Upon hearing this, Bryta almost dropped his hand, but quickly gripped it tightly and turned around: "You all step back a bit."

After confirming they were a few meters away, he gripped his sickle tightly and swung it down sharply from right to left! A loud rumble shook the door. A deep, visible gash appeared on it.

But there was no movement at all.

Cheng Cheng asked in surprise, "Is it because you're too weak?"

Bryta's face flushed. She reached out and pinched the door, then pinched it again, but the door remained unmoved.

He was in a hurry, swinging his sword repeatedly, only managing to carve out some marks. The corrosive liquid could barely corrode a part of it, but it couldn't penetrate deeper.

Bryta stopped, panting.

Chu Hui frowned as he looked at the testing equipment, thought for a moment, and asked, "Tata? Can you control your body to change shape?"

Bretta was taken aback, then nodded. He had recently become so skilled that he discovered he could change the shape of any part of his body.

Chu Hui suddenly said, "Then try transforming into Donovan's appearance."

Cheng Cheng clapped his hands and exclaimed, "That's great!"

"Huh?" Bleta was dumbfounded. He could only change his form at most before, but he probably couldn't do something as detailed as this change in appearance.

Bryta: "...I'll give it a try."

He tried it, and his face did change a bit, but it still wasn't quite right.

Cheng Cheng, a rough and uncultured man, exclaimed in amazement, "It's just like it! It's so similar!"

Bryta quickly placed her face in front of the detector.

However, the instrument emitted an incorrect beeping sound.

Bretta was taken aback: "What's going on?"

Cheng Cheng suddenly said, "Could it be that his face is useless?"

Cheng Cheng frowned and shook his head, his tone certain: "Impossible. I saw him open this door with my own eyes." He looked closely at Bryta's face and suddenly said, "No, you don't look like him anymore."

Blaita was taken aback, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration. He bit his finger, squeezed out a drop of blood, and handed it to Chu Hui.

Chu Hui hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and took his fingertips into her mouth.

In the next instant, Bretta quickly captured the image of the man in his mind: a hand brushing the hair away from the blond man's forehead, the image zoomed in.

He was startled and quickly copied the image, until it became an exact replica of the face.

Chu Hui stared at him, momentarily stunned.

Blaita looked at the red light on the detector, passed through instantly, and the door opened.

The group quickly ran inside.

Inside was a large control panel that took up a lot of space.

Bretta quickly examined the device, tried adjusting some settings, and successfully turned off the frequency sound.

A joyful smile spread across his face, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Cheng Cheng thought for a moment, then immediately considered jumping up and smashing it haphazardly to destroy this damned thing.

Chu Hui: "No! Don't be impulsive!"

Bretta quickly stopped him, discovering that there was not only a broadcast system for the entire base, but also other control panels with different functions.

He keenly sensed that perhaps... there was a chance for things to turn around.

Cheng Cheng felt the ground shaking and panicked: "Tata, let's destroy this and get out of here quickly! This place can't hold on much longer."

Bryta bit her lip, turned to look at Chu Hui and Cheng Cheng, and said, "You two go first. I have another idea. Maybe if it succeeds, then..."

"Don't do anything reckless..." Cheng Cheng said anxiously.

Chu Hui paused for a moment, already knowing what he wanted to do, and raised an eyebrow with a sly smile as he looked at Bryta and said, "Tata, you really are no ordinary person."

"Good luck!" he said, then turned and left quickly.

Cheng Cheng panicked: "You—forget it, whatever! Tata, what are you trying to do?"

Bretta pointed to one of the control panel instruments, her eyes resolute, and said, "He uses sound waves to manipulate and stimulate the mutation of the foreign substance, so it can also be reversed..."

Cheng Cheng was overjoyed: "Really?!"

Bryta nodded: "Of course I want to. Cheng Cheng, you go help Klindall quickly. I need some more time here. I'll come find you when I'm done."

Cheng Cheng hesitated for a moment, then nodded emphatically and gently patted Blaita's head with his wolf paw: "Okay, I'll go first, and wait for you to succeed! Blaita, I'm waiting for you to make me a pair of mechanical wings, so be sure to come back soon!"

Bryta nodded at him: "Mmm!"

He watched as Cheng Cheng turned and dashed away. His expression turned serious.

He had no idea how to reverse distortion using sound waves.

But as he was examining the instruments here, he discovered another instrument, one that he had seen before at Rudolf's place, and which was even more advanced and sophisticated.

“Breta.” A slightly aged voice came from inside.

Bretta looked at him: "Mr. Rudolf."

"Have you been here all this time?" he asked.

“Those sonar systems were also yours…” His voice trembled.

Rudolf's eyes welled up with tears: "No, that wasn't me. But I had no choice..."

"What's the meaning?"

“Humanity is so insignificant, so utterly vulnerable,” Rudolf said painfully. “Weapons can’t save humanity, medicine can’t save humanity, and the so-called vaccine is still not being developed… Humanity has already stepped into the abyss.” Rudolf’s lips trembled as he looked at Bretta.

"The idea that mutants coexist with humans is completely false. Anyone who gets infected will eventually turn into a monster."

His eyes darted around as he muttered, "Perhaps Earth has long wanted to wipe out this arrogant and conceited race that disrupts the balance of species..."

Bretta was starting to lose track of what he was trying to say and frowned. "Trying to refute it? No way! Everyone's been working hard, and Colonel Klindall is working to gather conscious mutants... sooner or later..."

"Sooner or later what?" Rudolf suddenly interrupted him. "Even if the mutants gather and use ammunition to wipe out all the monsters in the city, then what? What about the remaining people? What about the remaining surviving mutants?"

"The Klindall you speak of will once again become an object of fear and slaughter. Humanity has never tolerated a threat stronger than itself."

“Breta, and you are the most monstrous of them all. Look at yourself… even if you save humanity, will they ultimately accept you? Klindall can barely protect himself, how can he protect you?”

“No! That can’t be!” Bretta exclaimed in alarm. He suddenly looked at Rudolph, his eyes narrowing as he realized something was amiss: “You’re not Rudolph!”

He swiftly swung the throwing knife—striking the opponent's neck and exposing short-circuited wires and sparks.

The other person twisted their head to the side, their voice hoarse and unpleasant: "Tata, no wonder you have my genes... so smart..."

Donovan? This is a programmed and controlled intelligent robot.

He stepped forward, grabbed his shoulder, and without saying a word, quickly disassembled the chip and found the experimental data chip that had not been discovered in the polar snow fortress.

He quickly checked until he saw a video of the Asian Union Research Department being stolen. After watching for a few minutes, he gradually understood and tightened his grip on the corner of the table.

Suddenly stunned, her bright, clear eyes smiled, and tears welled up: "So, Easton's experimental subject was the vaccine."

After a moment, he paused, walked to the machine, turned it on, lay down inside, closed the lid, and pressed the start button. Little White lazily circled around him, and several white roses bloomed beautifully and purely, remaining quietly adorning him until the blond boy's eyelashes remained still.

While locked in combat with Donovan, Klindall suddenly felt a tightness in his chest, as if he had lost something in an instant. He abruptly stopped, slammed his longsword into the ground, and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Donovan on the other side wasn't much better off; his face suddenly turned deathly pale.

He suddenly understood and was taken aback. He turned to look at Chu Hui, who was standing in the distance.

"You! You're the one who lured Blaita there!"

Chu Hui stared at him coldly.

Donovan roared furiously and lunged at him in a few strides: "I should have killed you a long time ago!"

Klingdale sensed something was wrong and immediately grabbed Cheng Cheng, who was fighting nearby, demanding, "Where's Blaita?!"

Cheng Cheng met his scarlet vertical pupils for the first time, and was somewhat horrified: "The end of the corridor on the thirteenth floor..."

Klindall instantly teleported away.

After dodging several times, Chu Hui leaped upwards and broke through the window, then quickly climbed upwards. Donovan followed closely, leaping up to the rooftop and reaching the top of the lighthouse.

A humanoid meerkat stood on a high place, and Chu Hui stood facing him.

Donovan leaped up quickly, grabbed his neck with his sharp hand, and shoved him backward against a pillar-shaped building high in the air, with the cold wind blowing hundreds of meters above them.

Donovan stared intently into his eyes, gritting his teeth as he said, "You betrayed me...you fucking dared to betray me!"

His handsome face contorted in agony, and his transformation gradually took human form.

Chu Hui's neck was being gripped tightly, preventing her from speaking; she could only stare intently at him.

At that moment, Donovan felt a strange jolt, as if he had heard a whisper in someone's heart. His heart skipped a beat, and his hand unconsciously loosened its grip.

Chu Hui's expression was one of pain and confusion. Suddenly, he became fierce and plunged a long arrow into Donovan's heart. In Donovan's astonished gaze, Chu Hui leaned down and kissed his lips, murmuring, "I'll be with you." As he spoke, he grabbed Donovan's arm, spun around, and they both fell off the tower.

Countless alien species that had climbed onto the lighthouse instantly followed their fresh food and frantically chased down, scattering and crashing down in a dark mass.

The two people fell completely from the tower and were instantly wiped out by the dark, swarming alien species below.

...

When Klindall teleported in front of Blaita, seeing Blaita's peaceful sleeping face, his heart felt as if it had been suddenly gripped by a hand.

“Tata…” He was a little flustered and still a little incredulous.

He tried to force open the coffin-like device, but watched as Bretta's face grew paler and paler.

Klindall suddenly transformed into a black snake, opened his jaws, bit through a hole, and slithered inside.

The long black snake coiled around the fair-skinned boy, tightly binding him.

"Tata...Tata..." he called his name again and again in despair.

Until the sleeping boy completely disappeared from his sight.

The black snake curled up into a ball, sniffing his fading scent, and fell into a deep hibernation...

On the eve of the Mix Lighthouse Conference, the lighthouse was severely attacked by an alien tide. In the dead of night, streaks of brilliant white aurora flashed across the lighthouse, and countless tiny lights illuminated the dark night.

Grand and magnificent.

The alien horde within the base, after being touched by this light, gradually and miraculously underwent a reverse mutation... one by one, humans regained their senses.

Some scientists have described this as a miracle.

Some say this is the dawn of humanity.

Later, humans found a substance based on the remnants of the Mix base and successfully developed an anti-teratogenic vaccine.

After a century of hardship, struggle, exploration, progress, and sacrifice, humanity finally ended this catastrophe and ushered in a new life.

"Tata, these mechanical wings are so cool! Yahoo!" Cheng Cheng spun around twice in the sky and flew back to the ground.

Bryta: "If you like it, then I'm going home for dinner!"

He had just turned around when the man in the officer's uniform looked up at him and suddenly opened his arms: "Come here."

Bryta ran up to him and threw herself into his arms.

"Clin!" he exclaimed in surprise.

Klindall was taken aback. Ever since Bryta heard Yu call him that, he immediately changed his way of addressing him.

He lowered his head and reached out to caress Bleta's face, then lowered his head to embrace him and gently kissed his lips.

Klindall was thankful that his Tata had never left.

Hearing his thoughts, Britta muttered, "There was nothing wrong at the time, but you cried so much when I came back."

Klingdale was taken aback, then angrily ordered, "From now on, you are not allowed to read minds so casually."

Bryta deliberately said it to himself.

After a long pause, Klindall lowered his head and bit his lip again: "You can say that."

“I love you too, Tata.”
