"This...how is this possible?" Xiao Yi widened his eyes, unable to believe what he saw.
The power of the lightning far exceeded his imagination. It was not just an ordinary lightning, but a destructive force. It was like an invisible hammer, completely destroying everything in its way.
Xiao Yi's heartbeat quickened. He knew he had to find a safe place to hide as soon as possible. However, just as he was about to turn around and leave, a roar came from the sky again. This time, the sound was even deeper, as if the whole world was shaking.
He looked up and saw hailstones starting to fall from the clouds. Those hailstones were not ordinary ice cubes, but fist-sized ice balls with sharp edges, like deadly bullets falling from the sky.
"Damn it!" Xiao Yi cursed and quickly ran towards the nearest building. However, the speed of the hail was faster than he expected. An ice ball flew past his shoulder, bringing up a splash of blood.
"Ah!" Xiao Yi cried out in pain, but he didn't dare to stop. He rushed to the door of the building with all his strength, pushed open the frozen door, and got in.
He leaned against the wall, gasping for breath, a sharp pain coming from the wound on his shoulder. He looked down and saw that his down jacket was stained with blood, and the skin around the wound was beginning to turn purple.
"This hail... actually carries poison?" Xiao Yi was shocked and quickly took out a bottle of disinfectant and bandage from the copper coin space and simply treated the wound.
He leaned against the wall, listening to the thud of hailstones hitting the ground outside, his heart filled with despair. This wasn't just the freezing cold; it was nature's wrath. Humanity seemed so insignificant and powerless in the face of natural disasters.
"What is going on? Why has the weather become like this?" Xiao Yi murmured in a low voice, with a hint of confusion in his eyes.
He thought back to the device in Project Apocalypse, the mysterious instrument that could control the weather. Could it be that this device was the cause of all this? If so, how could he use the device in his hand?
Xiao Yi took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. He knew he couldn't stay here for too long. Although the hail outside had temporarily stopped, the threat of natural disasters had not been lifted. He had to find more supplies as soon as possible and find out the truth about the Apocalypse Plan.
He stood up and walked cautiously into the building. It looked like a shopping mall, with shelves piled high with goods, but most of them were covered in ice and snow. He searched for available supplies, storing some food, water, and medical supplies in the copper coin space.
Just then, he heard a faint groan. Xiao Yi gripped his pistol cautiously and walked towards the direction of the sound. In the corner of the mall, he found a girl huddled beside a shelf.
The girl looked only in her teens, wrapped in a ragged cotton-padded jacket, her face as pale as paper, her lips purple from the cold. Beside her lay a frozen corpse, seemingly a relative.
"Save...save me..." The girl raised her head weakly, her eyes full of pleading.
Xiao Yi's heart tightened. He knew that he couldn't just stand by and watch someone die. He quickly took out a bottle of water and a pack of compressed biscuits from the space and handed them to the girl.
"Drink some water and eat something." He whispered, with a hint of tenderness in his tone.
The girl took the water and food tremblingly and began to eat voraciously. Xiao Yi looked at her, but felt a heavy feeling in his heart. In this world ravaged by natural disasters, how long could a survivor like her survive?
Xiao Yi settled the girl in a relatively safe corner of the mall, gave her some food and water, and told her not to leave easily. He knew that he could not take her with him, but at least he could provide her with temporary shelter.
"I will be back." Xiao Yi whispered with a hint of determination in his tone.
The girl nodded, a hint of gratitude flashed in her eyes. Xiao Yi didn't say anything more and turned to leave the mall.
The hail outside had stopped, but the cold wind was still biting. The snow on the streets had deepened, and every step felt like stepping into a quagmire, making it difficult to move forward. Xiao Yi wrapped his down jacket tightly, gripped the fire axe in his hand, and observed his surroundings vigilantly.
He walked along the street, aiming for a large supermarket nearby. He knew there must be more supplies there, enough for him to survive longer in this extremely cold world.
The supermarket's main door was frozen shut. Xiao Yi smashed open a side door with a fire axe and got in. The inside of the supermarket was completely dark, with only a few faint rays of light shining through the frozen windows. The shelves were filled with merchandise, but most of it was covered in ice and snow.
Xiao Yi acted quickly, storing the food, water, medicine, and other necessities on the shelves into the copper coin space. He tried to choose items with a long shelf life and easy to store, such as canned food, compressed biscuits, bottled water, and a first aid kit. He also found some warm clothes and blankets, as well as a few tools and a flashlight.
There were more and more supplies in the space, but Xiao Yi did not feel relieved. He knew that although these supplies could allow him to survive temporarily, he was still in danger in the face of worsening weather and unknown threats.
Just as he was about to leave the supermarket, he suddenly heard a low roar. Xiao Yi's heartbeat quickened, and he quickly hid behind the shelf, holding his fire axe tightly and holding his breath.
A huge beast slowly walked out from the depths of the supermarket. Its body was covered with thick frost, and its eyes glowed with a dark green light, like a demon crawling out of hell. Xiao Yi had never seen such a creature before, but its threat was obvious.
