Chapter 17 B City Hospital

Chapter 17 B City Hospital

"Hold on, Fatty, there's still a chance!"

The hospital was not his best option; compared to a regular pharmacy, the number of zombies had increased several times over.

Han Shuo didn't care about anything else and drove straight to the hospital gate.

"Bang!"

Han Shuo smashed open the electric gate at the hospital entrance. He glanced inside.

Sure enough! There were just as many zombies here as in the middle of the road; Han Shuo could see nearly a hundred of them within his field of vision!

"We need to find a place to hide the fat man first."

The hospital wasn't very big. Han Shuo drove around it for a while and then saw an elevator-style parking lot, which caught his eye.

"This is it!"

Han Shuo turned the steering wheel all the way and drove left toward the parking lot.

Drive the car into an inner parking space, and before the zombies catch up, quickly get out. Lock the car doors, leaving the unconscious fat man inside.

Han Shuo tapped a button on the metal frame next to him. The car slowly rose into the air.

"Okay, it still works."

For over a month, the elevator-style parking garage still had electricity. Han Shuo was overjoyed, silently thanking the entire power company and their ancestors for generations!

"Awesome!"

With the car suspended in mid-air, the fat man's safety was at least guaranteed.

According to Han Shuo's observation, the zombies are stupid and have no ability to climb up.

It was already past 3 p.m.

Without wasting any more time, Han Shuo gripped his Tang sword tightly and ran toward the nearest building.

In this season, it gets dark around 5 pm. By 6 pm it's almost completely dark.

Han Shuo's stay in the hospital cannot exceed three hours.

...

Upon entering the hospital building, Han Shuo slammed the door shut behind him, keeping the zombies following him at bay. He found a stick nearby and attached it to the doorknob.

Judging from the situation, the zombies outside shouldn't be able to break through this door anytime soon.

After dealing with the situation at the rear, Han Shuo finally had time to look inside.

"This should be a side entrance to the building."

A long corridor with benches along the sides. It was somewhat dark because there was no glass, but fortunately there was a small lamp every so often to help Han Shuo see the way.

Apart from a corpse leaning against the wall a few meters away, no walking zombies were found in the corridor.

Han Shuo moved forward slowly and cautiously, keeping his footsteps light and trying not to make a sound.

After walking about 5 meters inside, there was a door on the side with a sign that read:

Department of Orthopedics.

Attending physician: Xu Moumou.

"This should be a medical department, but there are no medicines or anything usable here."

Han Shuo continued walking inside, and each time he passed a corpse, he would use his Tang sword to deliver a final blow to its head. He was somewhat worried that the corpses might rise up from behind.

The entire corridor consisted of almost identical rooms, but Han Shuo didn't go in to take a look.

Although he doesn't come to the hospital often, he roughly knows what's available in each area. He's certain that these departments for registration and consultation won't have what he's looking for.

I easily crossed the corridor, killing two zombies that ran out of the department along the way, without any major surprises.

In the past, the sudden appearance of zombies would have given Han Shuo a real fright. But after so much time, he had killed dozens, if not hundreds, of zombies. Han Shuo had long since become numb to it.

Unless surrounded by too many zombies, a few simple ones pose no threat.

After passing through the corridor, the lobby was just ahead. Han Shuo peeked out, then immediately withdrew.

"So many zombies!"

The hall was clearly the most crowded place normally, and dozens of zombies were wandering around there.

Han Shuo had already confirmed, following the signs above, that the medicine dispensing window was just ahead. And that was his destination. If he could successfully get there, he could find most of what the fat man needed in the medicine room.

But clearly, Han Shuo couldn't get around it at the moment. Fighting so many zombies would be suicide, so Han Shuo hesitated for a while in the corner, but finally gave up. He went up the stairs next to him.

"We'll have to look elsewhere."

Upon reaching the second floor, Han Shuo glanced at the signboard.

The second floor is similar to the corridor we just left; it's also a medical area, and this is where the specialist departments are located.

Without hesitation, Han Shuo glanced at the third floor as well, and then went straight to the fourth floor.

"Inpatient ward".

"It should be here!"

The presence of hospitalized patients meant there were private treatment rooms available, so Han Shuo decided to look for one on the fourth floor.

At first, things went relatively smoothly, but unexpectedly, after Han Shuo turned a few corners, more than 10 zombies suddenly appeared in front of him. They roared and charged towards him after spotting Han Shuo.

Han Shuo wanted to back away, but unexpectedly, zombies also came out of the room behind him.

A pincer attack from both sides.

The narrow passageway made it difficult to wield the sword, so Han Shuo had no choice but to open a door and hide inside.

"I didn't expect there to be so many here!"

With his back against the door, judging from the layout, this should be the doctor's rest room, and Han Shuo was trapped inside.

Han Shuo locked the door from the inside, then moved the table to block it, trying to see if there were any other ways out.

The room was only so big, and the entire room was visible to the naked eye. Apart from the window on one side, Han Shuo couldn't find any other exit.

Looking down, there were quite a few zombies as well.

"It's not feasible. Putting aside whether we can handle the zombies below, jumping down from the fourth floor like this would most likely result in injury."

Han Shuo shook his head, abandoning the idea of jumping out of the window.

Han Shuo paced around the room, finding only a few rolls of gauze, while the zombies outside the door continued to growl and refused to leave. Han Shuo was getting anxious.

Time passed slowly, and before they knew it, Han Shuo had been trapped inside for nearly an hour.

As darkness fell outside, Han Shuo could not wait any longer.

If the fat man really spent the night here, he would either be burned to death or freeze to death.

Han Shuo gripped the knife tightly, determined to open the door and break out!

Sudden!

Just as he made up his mind, he suddenly looked up and saw the ventilation opening on the ceiling.

Han Shuo's eyes lit up!

"This is it. The ventilation duct should be big enough for one person."

Without further ado, Han Shuo moved a chair over, stepped onto it, lifted a section of the ceiling, and peered inside.

"Sure enough, it's big enough for me to climb out."

With a push of his feet, Han Shuo easily jumped up. The ventilation duct was very dark, so dark that he couldn't see his own hand in front of his face. Han Shuo could only reach out and slowly crawl up little by little.

After countless turns and an unknown distance climbed, Han Shuo finally saw a glimmer of light ahead below.

Lift the light-filled ceiling; this is the exit connecting to other rooms.

Looking down, Han Shuo saw no zombies, so he lowered his feet, grabbed the edge, and jumped down.

Just then, Han Shuo, who had just landed and crouched down, hadn't even gotten up yet when goosebumps instantly rose all over his body!

A cold scalpel was placed against Han Shuo's neck.

"Who are you!?"
