"Mmm," Bai Qianqian responded and lowered her head, only to see Xie Wei put the meat and vegetables into her bowl.
"I have enough noodles, so let's not waste the rest. Please finish it for me, my deskmate," Xie Wei said to Bai Qianqian with a smile, then quickly picked up his bowl and ate the noodles, not giving Bai Qianqian a chance to object.
Her curved eyes seemed to hold stars, and Bai Qianqian felt as if she were about to be lost in this sea of stars.
The two ate their noodles in silence.
After finishing the meal, Xie Wei washed the dishes while Bai Qianqian was wiping the table, saying that he felt a little uncomfortable seeing others busy while he was idle.
Bai Qianqian escorted Xie Wei to the entrance of the orphanage. Watching Xie Wei get on the motorcycle, with the moonlight shining on him, Bai Qianqian felt that Xie Wei was like the moon.
Bai Qianqian looked at the moon in the sky. Yes, it was as high and unreachable as the sun, only shining on her briefly.
"Bai Qianqian, I'm neither the sun nor the moon. If you really want to compare me to someone, you can think of me as a firefly. The kind that flies right into your hand the moment you reach out," Xie Wei said, seemingly having guessed what the girl was thinking, as he observed her actions.
"What do you mean?" Bai Qianqian was not as calm as she appeared. The girl understood what Xie Wei meant, but she still found it hard to believe.
"You're so smart, don't play dumb with me, okay?" Xie Wei said with a smile.
"Fine, don't tell me then." Bai Qianqian suppressed her panic and quickened her pace, wanting to escape.
"Bai Qianqian, I like you. Do you want to date me?" she asked gently and earnestly.
Bai Qianqian paused, turned back to look at Xie Wei, pursed her lips, and seemed about to say something.
Before she could even open her mouth, Xie Wei interrupted her, saying, "Don't rush to refuse, think about it first." His voice was slightly provocative.
"I'll give you plenty of time to think it over. Give me your answer when you've decided to accept me."
"Shameless!" Bai Qianqian said softly upon hearing Xie Wei's words.
