When Bai Qianqian was eating, she suddenly paused and looked at Xie Wei, but Xie Wei pretended nothing had happened and continued eating.
"You don't need to do this," Bai Qianqian said earnestly, her eyes filled with concern.
Bai Qianqian's words had three layers of meaning: she didn't need to lower herself to suffer at the orphanage; she didn't need to pursue him so diligently; and she didn't need to be so good to him.
Bai Qianqian felt that she was not worthy of Xie Wei's feelings.
Xie Wei seemed to understand, smiled, reached out and pinched Bai Qianqian's cheek, and replied with only three words, "voluntary," meaning you deserve it.
Bai Qianqian felt a strange burning sensation where Xie Wei had pinched her, as if it were on fire, and she didn't say anything more.
After seeing Xie Wei off that evening, Bai Qianqian returned to the courtyard and, together with Dean Zhang, helped the children hang their clothes out to dry.
There was no doubt that "Xiao Wei likes you," and Dean Zhang was absolutely certain that "you like that child too."
Bai Qianqian's mind went blank; she hadn't expected the dean to know.
"Hahaha, I've seen more roads than you've eaten salt," Dean Zhang said with a laugh, looking at Bai Qianqian's reaction.
"I..." Bai Qianqian wanted to say something.
"Grandma didn't mean to stop it. It's clear that Xiaowei is a good person, more mature than his peers, and I believe he's serious about you. I'm at ease knowing it's him."
"You mustn't end up like Grandma..." Dean Zhang held the clothes, gazing at the sky as if reminiscing about something.
He then shook his head and slowly said, "Forget it, let the young people handle their own affairs." After hanging up the clothes, he went back inside.
Bai Qianqian watched Dean Zhang's retreating figure, then looked at the same sky, lost in thought, before finally shaking her head.

On Sunday, Xie Wei must keep his promise to Ms. Zheng and go back to the Xie family home.
