Huo Yunchao chuckled, "One hundred thousand, right? Okay. Let's go over there and talk privately. Let's keep our wealth out of the public eye, okay?"
Upon hearing that Huo Yunchao wanted to talk to this thug-like man, Xue Qiandai immediately became nervous and grabbed his hand tightly. "Beauty?" Don't go.
Huo Yunchao smiled faintly, "Don't worry, I'll be right back."
Then Huo Yunchao, the man with the braid, and the man with the tattoo went to the stairwell.
Jian Yan's family, Xue Qiandai, and Rong Xiao silently watched in Huo Yunchao's direction.
Ten minutes later, Huo Yunchao and Qin Shu returned together. Two family members followed behind, looking like wilted eggplants.
The tattooed man said angrily, "Kid, watch your eyes next time. I'll let you off this time because of your brother-in-law, humph!"
As he spoke, he went to the ward and called out his injured brother, then slunk away.
Everyone watched this dramatic scene in disbelief. Grandma Jian rubbed her cloudy eyes and looked at her future grandson-in-law with even greater admiration.
"Thank you," Mr. Jian said sincerely, his voice filled with apology to his daughter.
“Uncle Jian,” Qin Shu said, his usual nonchalant attitude gone, “your daughter is all alone, it’s not easy for her to make it in the big city, she has to bear all the hardships herself. She doesn’t expect you to treat her the same way, but at least don’t make her feel too heartbroken.”
Jane's father nodded and agreed.
The old lady wanted to argue further, but Qin Shu silenced her with a single look. The young man seemed carefree and easygoing, but his eyes held a sharp edge.
Huo Yunchao said to Xue Qiandai, "Dai Dai, I'm going back to Hangzhou tonight. Would you like to come with me?"
Xue Qiandai had always been obedient to Huo Yunchao, and with this brief separation making their marriage even more precious, how could she bear to refuse? She just looked at Jian Yan with a troubled expression.
After this incident, Jian Yan lost all interest in going home. Then she heard Qin Shu say, "Jian Xiaoyan, why don't you come to Hangzhou to have some fun and relax?"
With her grandsons alright, Grandma Jian beamed and chimed in, "Xiaoyan, go play! Nothing much is wrong at home. Spend quality time with your boyfriend!"
Jian Yan almost vomited blood.
