Chapter 225: Skill

Chapter 225: Skill

Anuo glanced at the time on her hand; it was nine in the morning. Her second sister had sent her some messages, all asking about her situation.

The message was sent last night. She saw Mingxi go to the side to make breakfast for her, and quickly replied to her second sister.

After she finished editing the message and sent it, she looked at the message that was still showing as sent and realized that the island had a strong shielding magnetic field, making it impossible to connect to any signal.

Mingxi prepared a sumptuous breakfast for her.

Anno sat at the dining table and discovered that in addition to seafood, there were some foods that could only be found on land.

Mingxi placed the warmed milk in front of her.

The milk had a rich aroma, and she picked up the cup and drank half of it in one gulp, feeling a warm sensation throughout her stomach.

"Let's go back to the Mermaid Kingdom later," Anno said to Mingxi while eating.

Anuo hesitated to suggest going to land or other places, as she felt Mingxi wouldn't want to go to land or places with many people.

At least there's no magnetic field shielding back in the Mermaid Kingdom.

Mingxi paused for a moment as she opened the seashell for her, then lowered her eyes slightly, concealing her expression.

"The duel will continue tomorrow, how about we stay here for today?"

Anno's mind raced. If she stayed here all day, her mother wouldn't be able to find her.

"Well, staying here is fine, but I'd like to go out to sea tonight."

Mingxi placed the opened seashell in front of her, her tone devoid of emotion, "Okay."

Anuo glanced at Mingxi's expression and felt a little uneasy.

Mingxi is a mermaid, not an insectoid, and will not obey her orders as absolutely as Caesar and the others.

He was now an uncertain figure, and she sensed his possessiveness towards her. She had to find a way to get him to take her away from the island.

Throughout the day, Anuo explored the island with Mingxi by her side.

The island was indeed small; she explored the entire island in just a few hours and didn't see anything particularly special.

There were a few kinds of fruits that she had never seen before, so she picked some and took them back to the cabin to eat.

As evening approached, after having dinner with Mingxi, Anuo went outside and sat on a rock by the shore, watching the sun slowly set below the horizon.

The afterglow of the setting sun spilled across the sea, and flocks of white birds skimmed across the surface, creating a scene resembling a vivid oil painting.

Mingxi sat silently beside her, the evening breeze still warm, blowing and lifting their long hair, which became intertwined.

Anuo turned to look at Mingxi, wanting to say something to him, but after gazing at his profile for a while, she swallowed her words.

Spend some more time with him.

Mingxi felt her gaze, turned around and smiled at her. His smile blended into the orange-red sunset light, adding a layer of warmth to his gentle expression.

He reached out and smoothed her long hair, which had been ruffled by the wind. Her hair was a bit curly and looked messy when left unattended.

Seeing that her hair was always being blown onto her face by the wind, Mingxi helped her braid her long hair into a loose, soft braid and put some sparkly jewelry on it.

He let his braid fall down to her chest, and patted her head with a smile, "Alright, now it won't get messed up by the wind."

Anuo grabbed his hand. "Mingxi, I want to go to the sea to watch the sunset, somewhere far away, preferably where we can see a group of whales."

Mingxi's Adam's apple bobbed, and her voice sounded a little dry. "Okay, I'll take you there."

He opened a portal to a sea area, not far from Amber Continent.

That's a place the baby whales like to go. Groups of baby whales love people on land and often linger near the coast.

Anno could see the lighthouse on the sea from afar, and with the lighthouse, he had a sense of direction.

She was quite familiar with the lighthouse; she knew that Amber Island was nearby.

As soon as she emerged, she connected to the consciousness network. At this point, Caesar and the others were almost frantic, constantly calling out to her in the consciousness network.

She quickly reassured them, telling them to calm down and that she was safe.

She had just finished comforting her when she received a message from Sevier.

Mother's here?!

She was surprised; she hadn't expected her mother to arrive so quickly. They were now waiting for her on the small island above the hotel.

She looked at Mingxi, who was still oblivious, holding a conch shell and blowing it into the distance.

After blowing, he put his hand to his mouth and half-closed it, producing a peculiar sound, as if he were calling out to something.

Before long, a large group of whales appeared in the distance. These whales made melodious calls, tumbling and leaping in the sea, and drawing graceful arcs in the air.

Mingxi turned to look at her: "Do you like it?"

Anno pursed her lips and nodded.

Mingxi laughed, "I'll take you to see whatever you want to see in the future, no matter where we are."

As he spoke, he slowly tightened his grip on her waist, his eyes fixed on her, as if waiting for her answer.

Even knowing that the chances of her staying were slim, and that she had been by his side these past two days for other reasons, he still wanted to hear her answer.

Sevier and Caesar kept calling out to Anno in the consciousness network, indicating that they wanted to come and pick her up.

Anuo didn't want Mingxi to have direct contact with them.

But now, it's time for her to leave.

After a long silence, Mingxi sighed softly and spoke first: "So you're still leaving?"

Anno looked up at him abruptly, her face filled with undisguised surprise.

How did he know?

"Mingxi, you..."

Mingxi looked at her with a gentle smile, but his slightly furrowed brows made his smile look somewhat sad.

He suddenly pulled her into his arms and hugged her, then silently whispered in her ear: "I'm sorry."

Anuo was stunned by his sudden hug, but in the end she raised her hand and hugged him back.

"Mingxi, could you turn around?"

She stroked his back, soothingly saying, "I won't leave. I'll always be here, right beside you."

You'll find out later.

"Really?" Mingxi's voice rang in her ears.

"Yes, really, I'm not kidding you."

It's just that the wait will be a little long, but you will definitely wait for me.

Anno patted his back: "Turn around, close your eyes, and wait for me to call you."

Mingxi held her tighter and tighter, but finally let go, though she still held onto her hand.

He closed his eyes and said, "Give me a kiss, and I'll turn around."

Anno said helplessly, "Okay."

She was about to lose control of her mother, so she had Caesar open a portal to get through.

He was afraid that she might be entangled by Caesar's clone.

Sevier knew how soft-hearted her precious daughter was. When she arrived, she heard about the situation from Caesar and the others, and immediately punished the five of them.

After they went back, they were all sent to the ice field to enjoy the cold wind.

Caesar, on the other hand, was punished by being sent to the bottom of the mine to reflect on his actions.

Anuo saw that Mingxi had her eyes closed, and her lower body transformed into its original form. She put her hand on her shoulder and placed a kiss on her forehead.

A spatial portal appeared not far behind Anno. Sevier and several of Caesar's followers emerged from the portal and witnessed Anno kissing Mingxi.

The air seemed to freeze at that moment.

Mingxiao's mouth gaped open, and he began to stammer, "Your...Your Highness...she...she..."

Why have you become so close to Caesar's clone after only two days apart?!

His Highness actually kissed him first!

The subordinates were insanely jealous, thinking, "It's just an avatar, not even a Zergling, so why is it that it's so powerful?"

The other four all turned to look at Caesar, their expressions complex.

Caesar was filled with mixed feelings. Although it was his clone, strictly speaking, it wasn't really his clone.

He is Caesar's alter ego in this timeline.

But this clone is so pleasing to His Highness.

He didn't know if he should be happy, but deep down he knew he wasn't.

Sevier was somewhat pleased, glancing at the faces of her subordinates, and said, "It seems you're not quite up to par."

Upon hearing this, they all lowered their heads.

The Queen is right; they simply don't have the ability to win His Highness's favor.

"Okay, turn around now."

After kissing Mingxi, Anuo turned him around.

She could already sense her mother and the others' presence; they were right behind her.

She watched Mingxi's retreating figure, took a deep breath, and turned to swim towards Sevier.

When Sevier saw Anno coming over, she opened her arms and pulled her into her embrace.

"My darling, Mommy misses you so much."

Sevier hugged Anno and rubbed against him for a while.

Anno smiled and nuzzled her cheek. "I miss Mom too."

Sevier glanced at Mingxi in front of her and teased, "Thinking about your mother these past few days? Not thinking about anything else?"

Anuo coughed. "I just miss my mom."

Sevier knew she was shy, so she stopped teasing her and led her into the portal.

As she went inside, Anno couldn't help but look back.

Just then, Mingxi turned around.

His figure blurred in her eyes, the portal closed, and darkness enveloped her.

Mingxi watched the spatial gate disappear before her eyes and gradually closed her eyes.

At this moment, the sun sets below the horizon, its last rays disappearing into darkness.

Mingxi sank into the water, her consciousness began to dissipate, and she let her body fall into the deep sea.

I'm sorry, please forgive my selfishness.

The island where Mingxi lives

In a cave carved out by the waves, a figure lying on the rocks slowly opened its eyes.
