Chapter 253: Little One’s Mom and Dad Can Not Meet?

The two brothers were arguing fiercely over a single sofa. Old Mrs. Ye and Old Mr. Ye exchanged glances, both seeing the helplessness in each other’s eyes.

In the end, they resorted to a childish game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who would get the sofa for the night. With a best-of-three, Ye Rongyuan won and gleefully arranged his pillow and blanket on the sofa.

Despite his tall frame making the sofa feel narrow, he was not at all uncomfortable. In fact, he felt quite smug and quietly teased his second brother, "Second Brother, you should go sleep on the big bed in the next room. How could a big star like you squeeze onto this tiny sofa?"

The sarcastic tone made Ye Liyuan’s rare displeasure show. He pursed his lips and looked down at his brother lying on the sofa, feeling the urge to drag him off. However, a promise is a promise, and he wouldn’t go back on his word.

However—

Ye Liyuan turned his head and saw the play area specifically set up for little one next to the living room. The floor was cold and hard, so he had chosen the most comfortable children’s mat for little one to play on.

Thanks to little one, he didn’t have to sleep on the cold floor.

Ye Rongyuan was waiting to see his second brother leave the room dejectedly, but to his surprise, he saw him stride into little one’s play area.

Ye Rongyuan’s eyes widened as he watched his second brother place his pillow and blanket on the children’s mat, ready to sleep there for the night.

He protested in a righteous whisper, "Second Brother, that’s Ann’s play area! How can you sleep in her space?"

"I’ll tell Ann tomorrow, and she’ll agree." Ye Liyuan lay down, his long legs slightly bent to avoid the foam barriers. Despite the cramped space, he had a smile on his face, content and facing the room.

Ye Rongyuan glanced at the sofa beneath him and suddenly found it less appealing. It seemed sleeping on the mat might be more comfortable.

Perhaps it’s true that what belongs to others always seems better.

Old Mrs. Ye watched her two sons, one sleeping on the mat and the other on the sofa, and didn’t stop them. After the two had "argued" and found their sleeping spots, she gently reminded them to keep an eye on the room before heading to the rest area next door.

Old Mr. Ye escorted her over and then returned to sleep in the hospital room’s attendant bed.

After some fussing, the Ye family finally settled into the night’s quiet.

Qin Sui’an, the little one, slept soundly until she woke up naturally. After a long sleep, she was fully recharged.

As soon as she opened her eyes and saw the familiar white surroundings, she knew she was in her mommy’s room. She quickly crawled out of bed and climbed up to her mommy’s bedside.

"Mommy, good morning~" Qin Sui’an’s eyes curved into a smile, her large, round eyes still drowsy from sleep, her soft, sweet voice filled the room.

Remembering the birthday party she attended yesterday, Qin Sui’an suddenly let out a small "ah" and ran out of the room with her short legs.

In the living room, Ye Liyuan was sitting on the sofa, flipping through scripts his manager had brought early in the morning.

Hearing the slight noise from the room, he closed the script and stood up, heading towards the room. Before he could get there, little one ran out and jumped into his arms.

Qin Sui’an, in her hurry, had hugged her second uncle’s leg tightly. Dizzy from the sudden stop, she looked up and smiled, "Second Uncle~"

"Ann, does your head hurt?" Ye Liyuan quickly squatted down to check her forehead, feeling guilty for not noticing her running out in his haste to enter the room.

"It doesn’t hurt~" Qin Sui’an shook her head, her big round eyes scanning the living room. "Second Uncle, are Grandma, Grandpa, and Third Uncle not here?"

"They’ll be back soon." Ye Liyuan gently patted her head and then picked her up, "Ann, are you looking for your phone?"

Qin Sui’an’s eyes widened in surprise, her small mouth forming an "O" shape, "Yes! How did Second Uncle know? Ann hasn’t said anything yet!"

Ye Liyuan chuckled at her adorable expression, unable to resist pinching her cheek lightly, "I guessed."

Little one ran out of the room in a hurry without any panic on her face, indicating she had just thought of something she needed to get. The only thing in the living room that little one might urgently need was her phone.

Holding little one with one arm, Ye Liyuan walked to the table in the living room, crouched slightly, and picked up the pink phone from the table.

Handing the phone to little one, he gently asked, "Ann, what do you need the phone for?"

"I want to call Daddy~" Qin Sui’an struggled to hold her phone with one small hand, so she extended both hands to take it from her second uncle. She smiled, her soft voice explaining, "Ann wants to tell Mommy and Daddy that Grandpa Ou’s birthday party was fun~"

She wanted to video call her dad and tell both her mom and dad about the party, so she only had to say it once, and both would hear!

Unable to hide her excitement, Ye Liyuan saw through her intentions at a glance.

His expression remained unchanged, still smiling at little one in his arms, but a hint of hesitation appeared in his eyes.

If little one’s plan were to work, it would inevitably mean letting President Qin see his sister.

The accident three years ago, which led to Ann’s kidnapping and her three-year disappearance before returning home, still weighed heavily on their hearts. Ann had suffered greatly during those years, and the family felt heartbroken every time they thought of it.

Not only had Ann suffered, but the Ye family’s precious daughter had fallen into a coma due to the incident and had yet to show any signs of waking up.

No one wanted the accident to happen, but it was a series of oversights that led to it. The Ye family and the Qin family severed ties for two reasons: one, a lingering grudge that prevented them from facing the Qin family with their previous goodwill, and two, self-blame, believing that if they hadn’t trusted the Qin family so much, the accident might never have occurred.

Now that little one had returned, it seemed like a new hope had emerged.

Qin Sui’an was very perceptive. Even though her second uncle was smiling at her, she seemed to sense something amiss.

She looked at her phone, pursed her lips, and softly asked, "Second Uncle, can’t Daddy see Mommy?"
