Ye Rongyuan didn’t often visit Bay Villa, and he didn’t know when he would come again. Seeing that Ann had finished her dinner, he quickly cleaned up his bowl, wiped his mouth, and took Ann out of the dining room. "You all take your time eating, no rush; I’ll look after Ann."
Without waiting for the rest of the Qin family to respond, Ye Rongyuan strode out with Ann in his arms.
Qin Sui’an looked up and saw her uncle beaming, his laughter echoing in his heart. She didn’t understand why her uncle was so happy to be with her, but strangely enough, his mood seemed to affect her as well, making her feel a bit cheerful.
They had already played with most of the toys in the living room, and after eating, Ye Rongyuan didn’t take Ann back inside but headed outside the castle instead.
As night fell, the streetlights in Bay Villa lit up. Ye Rongyuan stopped at the castle entrance, crouched down, and set Ann on the ground. "Shall we take a walk in the garden?"
"Sure~" Qin Sui’an stretched her short legs and started walking, knowing her uncle wasn’t very familiar with Bay Villa and leading the way.
Ye Rongyuan walked slowly beside her, occasionally glancing at the scenery. This was also where his sister, Ye Zhaosi, had lived. After her marriage, the Ye family didn’t visit the Qin family often—about once a week at most. After her illness, they hadn’t come at all. In their heated moments, they would say it was better that Bay Villa hadn’t been demolished.
After a few steps, Ye Rongyuan noticed Ann slowing down, redirecting his attention to her. Due to the height difference, he could only see her round little head and not her expression. "Ann?"
Qin Sui’an looked up and explained why she was walking slower. "Ann misses mommy."
Ye Rongyuan crouched down and gently rubbed her head. "Missing her? Then let’s go see your mommy together later."
Qin Sui’an thought seriously for three seconds before shaking her head. "Ann is going to kindergarten. Once I’m registered, I’ll go find mommy."
Ye Rongyuan looked puzzled. What did those two things have to do with each other? 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Qin Sui’an, sensing his confusion, explained, "Daddy said he would take Ann to visit kindergartens these days to choose one." She thought if they picked a kindergarten, she could spend more time with mommy.
Ye Rongyuan understood and replied, "That’s true. Ann is three and a half now; she can go to the nursery class. If she’s smart enough, she can go straight to the middle class."
Qin Sui’an blinked her big eyes. She often heard people praise her intelligence. "Uncle, what’s the difference between the nursery and middle classes?"
"Well, I only know a bit." Ye Rongyuan, seeing her curiosity, patiently explained, "In the nursery class, they learn daily skills like getting dressed and eating. In the middle class, they might start learning to recognize and write characters."
Suddenly, Qin Sui’an thought of something. "Uncle, what class is Bai Zhou in?"
"Bai Zhou?" Ye Rongyuan searched his memory for this person. "Oh, that kid from the Bai family." He had heard that the little brat bullied Ann and got beaten back by her. Because of this, Ye Rongyuan had even had someone look into the kid’s background.
He couldn’t help but smile. "That little brat is four and a half but is still in the nursery class. The Bai family has pampered him as their late-in-life child, even delaying his kindergarten start by a year. Plus, he’s too spoiled and hasn’t kept up with the middle-class kids, so he has to start in the nursery."
Qin Sui’an immediately had an idea. "Then Ann should go to the middle class!" If Bai Zhou was that silly to be in the nursery class, then Ann wasn’t silly; she deserved to be in the middle class!
"Hahaha..." Ye Rongyuan laughed as he realized Ann was comparing herself to that little brat.
As Qin Sui’an continued toward the garden, she was filled with curiosity about kindergarten, like a little explorer about to embark on a new adventure. "Uncle, are all the kids in kindergarten little like me?"
"Yes, kids about Ann’s age," Ye Rongyuan replied earnestly. "When you go to kindergarten, you’ll meet more playmates your age." They couldn’t keep letting the Qin family’s several nephews play with Ann all the time.
"Is Sister Yiyin also in kindergarten?" Qin Sui’an thought of another child.
"Yiyin?" Ye Rongyuan stroked his chin, trying to recall who she was.
After a moment, Qin Sui’an sweetly said her full name: "Uncle, it’s Shi Yiyin~ Sister Yiyin."
"Oh, Shi..." Ye Rongyuan thought for a while before finally remembering. "Ah, the child from the Shi family. She’s six this year, right? She’ll be going to elementary school next year, so she’s probably in the big class or a pre-kindergarten class."
Ye Rongyuan didn’t know much about the Shi family, but he had gathered this little information during a previous banquet at the Qin family, where Shi Yiyin had attended, and his assistant had casually checked the guest list, including the children.
