Chapter 29 Captain Xiang is half asleep

Chapter 29 Captain Xiang is half asleep

Xu Songning dared not move, afraid of missing Sanhua. The two of them touched nose to nose and forehead to forehead. Xu Songning leaned back and felt the other's warm breath on his lips.

She looked up and saw Xiang Yun's hazy eyes. The man's eyelashes were thick, and when he blinked, they seemed like butterfly wings fluttering, each slight tremor stirring her heartstrings.

thump.

Something jumped violently.

"Sorry, I was half asleep." Xiang Yun quickly withdrew his hand from her shoulder. Her body temperature seemed to burn his fingers. When he brought his hand to his side, he couldn't help but rub his fingers together to dispel the heat.

The calico cat sandwiched between the two of them meowed twice in dissatisfaction. Xu Songning picked the cat up and hugged it, his face calm but his earlobes burning. "Why don't you sleep a little longer?"

"No need, I'll go with you." Xiang Yun got out of the car and closed the door in one smooth motion, giving Xu Songning no time to refuse.

So, the two who had almost come into close contact walked side by side to the pet hospital, tacitly remaining silent.

The pet hospital was indeed still open. There weren't many customers at night, and the Shiba Inu at the entrance started barking loudly when it saw them coming.

"Stop shouting, I heard you!" the nurse responded from inside the door, taking small, quick steps out. She was already unhappy about working the night shift, but when she saw the two people standing at the door, her eyes lit up slightly. Wow, what a good-looking couple! It was worth the work!

Xu Songning looked at the starry-eyed expression on the other woman's face and assumed she was interested in Xiang Yun. However, her gaze swept over her, then over Xiang Yun, and finally she nodded, as if she had made up her mind about something.

She probably misunderstood something...

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" the nurse asked with a standard smile.

"It looks like this calico cat has an injured leg." Xu Songning handed the calico cat to her for inspection.

The nurse performed a preliminary examination and nodded affirmatively, "It seems to be a fracture. The doctor is available now, let's take an X-ray to see the situation. Is this cat friendly? Can I hold it?"

“It’s not afraid of strangers,” Xu Songning said, as he handed Sanhua to the nurse.

Sanhua, who had been quietly nestled in Xu Songning's arms, suddenly began to struggle, screaming and refusing to leave his embrace.

The scene became chaotic, with the Shiba Inu at the door barking as Sanhua tried to escape. Xu Songning tried to catch her but had her paws pressed against her forehead. Sanhua's soft belly lay on her face, making it difficult for her to see.

Xiang Yun stepped forward and grabbed Sanhua by the back of her neck. Miraculously, Sanhua calmed down and stopped struggling, letting Xiang Yun hold her in his arms.

Xu Songning was disheveled in the wind, with a few strands of her hair pulled loose, and her eyes were full of disbelief.

Why did my perfectly well-behaved calico suddenly go berserk?

"I'll take it to get it checked." Xiang Yun turned to look at her, reached out and patted the cat fur on her head, and said in a low voice, "Xu Songning, go to the bathroom and fix your hair."

After saying that, he couldn't help but chuckle, then composed himself, as if he wasn't the one who had just been amused.

The nurse quickly pointed her in a direction, and Xu Songning walked over in her flat shoes. When she saw herself in the mirror, she burst out laughing.

Her hair, which was originally neatly clipped at the back of her head, was pulled askew by the plant-based hair clip, with a few strands of hair falling around her cheeks, along with a few cat hairs. Xiang Yun probably thought it was inappropriate, so he just brushed away the cat hairs on the top of her head.

Xu Songning removed the cat hair, patted her hair, and simply let it hang loose. Then she felt a little disgusted and wanted to wash her hair.

Xiang Yun took Sanhua to see a doctor. Sitting in the examination room, he listened attentively to the doctor's words. Looking at his reliable back, Xu Songning felt completely at ease entrusting Sanhua to him.

"Hello, is there a hair salon nearby?" Xu Songning asked the nurse at the front desk. The nurse seemed to have been paying attention to her and immediately pointed to the next room after hearing her question. "There is one right now. You can go and get your hair washed first, and I will inform your husband."

The nurse spoke too quickly, and Xu Songning couldn't hear whether she said "your husband" or "sir," but that didn't matter. The most important thing now was to save her hair.

"Thank you." Xu Songning strode out, and the Shiba Inu at the door barked a few more times.

The small shampoo shop has a small storefront, and there seem to be only two employees inside.

The girl who was in charge of washing hair at the shop looked younger than Xu Songning. When she massaged Xu Songning's hair, Xu Songning felt so comfortable that she almost fell asleep.

"Okay, you can dry your hair now," the girl called softly.

Xu Songning went out to the shampoo area first. When the girl was about to follow, a man in a black shirt in the shop suddenly stopped her and warned her with his eyes not to go out, saying that he would take care of this customer.

The girl shrank back, not daring to utter a sound, and sat back down, feeling worried for the pretty older sister.

The man walked up behind Xu Songning, his fingers brushing against the hair at the back of her neck, inadvertently touching her skin. "How do you want it styled?"

Xu Songning frowned. The man's hands were calloused, and when they touched the back of her neck, it felt uncomfortable and even nauseous.

"My sister is just washing her hair, you...you can just blow-dry her hair." The girl's weak voice rang out.

In the mirror, Xu Songning saw that only the girl's head was showing, looking at them with worry and fear in her eyes.

"Let her sing for me, I quite like her." Xu Songning looked up at the man.

"She hasn't finished her work for today yet. I'll help you blow-dry your hair," the man said, turning back to glare at the girl, who immediately shrank back.

There were only two people in the shop for the time being. If Xu Songning insisted, he was afraid of causing unnecessary trouble for the girl. Oh well, it was just a hair dryer anyway.

The man picked up a hairdryer and started drying her hair.

Xu Songning's hair reached halfway up her waist. The man lifted her hair and gently blew on it, but there was always a hint of lewdness in his movements.

"Beautiful lady, your hair is in great condition. What shampoo do you usually use?" The man made conversation by pulling up a stool and sitting down behind her.

"Soapy water".

"Hahaha, beautiful lady, you're so funny! Do you have a boyfriend?"

"none of your business."

"Oh my, this pretty lady has quite a temper. Let's add each other on WeChat," the man said flippantly.

"No phone? Give me a hairdryer, I'll blow-dry it myself." Xu Songning said, slightly annoyed.

The man grabbed her hair and used a bit of force, as if to threaten her, "Beautiful lady, don't move around, or your hair will get caught in it. If you have a small bald patch, that won't look good."

Xu Songning, whose hair was being controlled by someone else, was burning with anger and was about to lash out when a voice came from the doorway.

"Is this a rip-off? Should I call the consumer association to ask?"

The man drying his hair subconsciously stood up, turned off the hairdryer, and realized that his Adam's apple wasn't even as high as the man at the door. He couldn't help but feel annoyed; this had ruined his good time!

He gritted his teeth and asked, "A haircut or a hair wash?"

"Waiting for someone." Xiang Yun walked in a few steps and stood beside Xu Songning like a mountain.
