She wanted to rush out and push them into the trap. But she knew she couldn't. If she were discovered, her plan would be completely ruined. She could only wait, hoping they would reach the trap soon.
Just as Jiang Yao was on the verge of despair, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen finally approached the trap. Jiang Yao's heart leaped into her throat, her eyes fixed on their feet. She felt as if her breath was about to stop, her blood boiling. She whispered to herself, "Step on it, step on it!" However, Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen paused a short distance from the trap. They seemed to be talking, and Shen Qingchen reached out and plucked a leaf from a nearby tree, handing it to Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi took the leaf, smiled softly, and then put it to the tip of her nose and sniffed.
Jiang Yao gnashed her teeth at the sight. She couldn't understand why they hadn't stepped on it yet, why they were still enjoying it so leisurely. She twisted her body in the bushes, trying to make herself more comfortable so she could observe better. Her eyes never left Jiang Zhi and Shen Qingchen, hoping they would make the next move as soon as possible.
