Chapter 18: Silver Needle

Shen Qingci's perspective

His studies abroad are about to end, and in another month, Shen Qingci will return home.

Over the past year, she had acquired a wealth of professional knowledge and had become more independent and mature. However, her longing for Gu Yanchen had not diminished at all. Instead, it had become increasingly intense as the date of her return home approached.

She often dreamed of returning to the Evening Fragrance Teahouse, to that afternoon with Gu Yanchen. In her dreams, there were no arguments, no disagreements, only the fragrance of tea and gentle smiles filling the room. But every time she woke, she was faced with only the cold reality.

That day, she received an email from Grandpa Chen. The email said that Grandma Zhang had fallen ill, and the teahouse was temporarily being managed by someone sent by Gu Yanchen. It was running well, so she didn't need to worry.

Seeing the name "Gu Yanchen," Shen Qingci's heartbeat quickened. She hadn't expected Gu Yanchen to take care of the "Evening Fragrance Teahouse" while she was away. Was he doing this out of responsibility, or... was there something else?

She was both moved and conflicted. She wanted to return home immediately, to see Granny Zhang, to the teahouse, and to see Gu Yanchen. But she was also afraid. She was afraid to face him, afraid that they no longer had a common language, afraid of being hurt again.

She paced back and forth in the dormitory, and finally decided not to contact Gu Yanchen after returning home. She wanted to go see Granny Zhang and the teahouse first, and then slowly consider their relationship.

To ease her anxiety, she brewed a pot of Baihao Yinzhen tea. The tea was clear, with a fresh aroma and a mellow flavor. She took a sip, trying to calm herself.

She remembered the day Gu Yanchen confessed his love to her, and they had also brewed Baihao Yinzhen tea. The sun was warm that day, his eyes were gentle, and her heart was beating fast.

Time flies so fast, and in the blink of an eye, a year has passed. The distance between them seems to be getting farther and farther.

She didn't know what she would encounter after returning home, nor did she know if their story would continue. But she knew she had to go back, back to the place that held all her memories, back to the place where the "Evening Fragrance Tea House" existed.

And was Gu Yanchen still waiting for her? She didn't know. She only knew that in her heart, she had never truly let him go.
