Chapter 13 Dying with Unresolved Feelings

Chapter 13 Dying with Unresolved Feelings

Jiang Yimian realized that she couldn't stand not cursing this bastard.

Her huffy expression made Bo Jinzhou chuckle.

"Alright, alright, it's my fault. As compensation, I'll treat you to dinner."

Upon hearing about food, Jiang Yimian's eyes lit up. "Okay, I want to eat at the best restaurant."

Bo Jinzhou still sent her to school.

Jiang Yimian checked her phone after she finished showering.

Lu Yiwan was bombarded with phone calls and WeChat messages; you could feel her breakdown even through the screen.

There are also Lu Wenchang and Su Hui.

She calmly dried her hair and then looked at other messages.

Bo Jinzhou sent the restaurant address.

Jin: I'll pick you up tomorrow at noon.

Jiang Yimian: [I might not have time at noon; I need to go home.]

I'll message you when the time comes.

Jin: [Lu Wenchang wants you to go back?]

Jiang Yimian: [Do I need someone to call me when I go home?]

When Bo Jinzhou returned to the company and saw the message, he could imagine the girl's speechless expression.

Jiang Yimian answered Lu Wenchang's call after drying her hair.

"Where are you?" he asked, his voice barely containing his anger.

Jiang Yimian: "Brother Jinzhou said he would let me stay at his house."

The sound of Lu Yiwan crying came from the other end, and Su Hui couldn't help but curse: "You little slut, that's our Wanwan's fiancé, have you no shame?"

"Shut up," Lu Wenchang hissed, as if afraid Bo Jinzhou would hear. "Mianmian, it's not convenient for a young lady like you to stay at a strange man's house. I'll send someone to pick you up."

"I used to eat and live with Brother Jinzhou, we even shared a room, what's inconvenient about that?"

Lu Wenchang: "That's your sister's fiancé. Mianmian, be sensible. I'll send someone to pick you up right now."

Jiang Yimian's lips curled into a mocking smile. "I hadn't finished speaking when Brother Jinzhou asked me to stay at his house, but I didn't agree. I'm in the school dormitory now."

Lu Yiwan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Lu Wenchang's face was extremely ugly, turning into a riot of colors. "You've all been playing mind games. Get back here now!"

"Current office closes at 11 PM, so I can't leave the dorm. I'll try tomorrow."

The next day, after Jiang Yimian finished her class, Uncle Li came to pick her up.

"The master is very angry now, and the eldest young lady is so angry that her eyes are swollen from crying. Second young lady, you'd better pray that the master doesn't beat you to death."

Jiang Yimian rested her chin on her hand and looked out the car window. The sky was covered by a thick layer of dark clouds.

She clearly didn't listen to what Uncle Li said. Uncle Li's face was gloomy, and he drove without paying any attention to Jiang Yimian sitting in the back.

The sudden stop almost made Jiang Yimian vomit.

Upon arriving at the Jiang residence, Jiang Yimian was pale and gagged a few times. Uncle Li gave her a push, saying, "Second Miss, hurry up, the master and madam have been waiting for you for a long time."

Jiang Yimian turned around and slapped him with all her might. The crisp sound made Uncle Li's ears ring. Jiang Yimian's palm quickly turned red, numb and painful from the excessive force.

"Why did you touch me like that?"

Jiang Yimian seemed like a completely different person; her overbearing demeanor made Uncle Li hesitate for a moment.

The door opened, and Lu Wenchang came out, followed by Lu Yiwan and Su Hui.

Looking down at Jiang Yimian, Uncle Li instantly snapped out of his daze and rushed to Lu Wenchang's side, covering his face as he began to complain: "Sir, the second young lady is simply outrageous! She, she actually hit me!"

Lu Wenchang: "Kneel down."

This was the first time Lu Wenchang had publicly reprimanded Jiang Yimian in this way.

The servants all stood there, and a muffled clap of thunder boomed in the distance, making the whole atmosphere oppressive and frozen.

Jiang Yimian said, word by word, "I will not kneel."

"Yimian, apologize and say you know you were wrong. Don't upset Dad anymore."

Lu Yiwan looked like a caring older sister, her expression worried, as if she were genuinely concerned about her younger sister.

Jiang Yimian looked coldly at the three of them. She didn't understand. She was clearly his biological daughter.

But Lu Wenchang fiercely protected Lu Yiwan and Su Hui.

Her eyes were filled with resentment, so much so that her hatred seemed to burst forth. Her cold and beautiful face was filled with a fierce look, like a vengeful ghost seeking revenge.

Another rumble of thunder struck, louder and even closer than before.

In a daze, Lu Wenchang seemed to see Jiang Hua, that stubborn, gentle, strong-willed woman, so outstanding that every single hair on her head was exceptionally superior.

He was greatly alarmed, but concealing his guilt and panic, he said, "Bring me the whip."

Jiang Yimian and Jiang Hua are so alike; they are both unwilling to admit defeat and equally unwilling to back down.

Even on her deathbed, she still looked at him and Su Hui with the eyes of someone looking at trash.

Arrogance, contempt, and disdain seemed to be etched into her very bones, and Jiang Yimian was the same kind of person as her.

Jiang Yimian was forced to kneel by two servants, her knees slamming onto the ground with a thud. A smile curled at the corner of her lips, it was unclear whether she was mocking or sarcastic.

Lu Yiwan felt no pleasure at the sight; instead, she found it even more irritating.

Jiang Yimian is still outstanding, whether she was a child or now. Her appearance and temperament surpass hers.

A dozen or so servants stood in two rows watching, each with a condescending gaze. Only one servant, his hands trembling, eyes red-rimmed, and teeth chattering, couldn't bear to watch the scene.

Lu Wenchang took the leather whip and struck her back. The crisp sound of it whipping through the air made Jiang Yimian bite her lower lip in pain. Her hands were held tightly in the air by the maid, and she had no foothold or ground to use to endure the pain.

She was like a bird with broken wings, bullied by her own kind, forcibly taken to the sky, not allowed to go down, but hung there, left to the wind to blow, keeping her in a state of high alert, fearing that she would be thrown off from ten thousand meters in the next moment.

"Do you admit your mistake?"

Sweat beaded on Jiang Yimian's forehead, sliding down her brow. Her lips were pale and weak, but her eyes were resolute: "I did nothing wrong."

Lu Wenchang was furious and continued to lash out with the whip.

"Stay away from Bo Jinzhou from now on, you hear me?"

"You have no right to control my life."

Lu Wenchang took off his coat, preparing to gather his strength again, while Jiang Yimian's back was already stained with blood. She was wearing a white dress, the fabric of which was thin and had torn open, leaving it covered in blood.

The rain pelted down, touching her wound, and her body trembled. As the rain intensified, Lu Wenchang stopped.

"I'll see how long you can keep up this stubbornness."

Lu Wenchang turned and went inside, and the servants gradually left the place.

Lu Yiwan stood above, with Uncle Li holding an umbrella to completely cover her head. Lu Yiwan squatted down, her bright red nail polish standing out, and grabbed Jiang Yimian's pointed chin.

Jiang Yimian's face was so pale that it was completely bloodless, but she still smiled. Her smile was still captivating, and even in her disheveled state, her face was flawless.

Lu Yiwan's eyes were filled with jealousy and viciousness. She raised her hand and slapped Jiang Yimian across the face. Jiang Yimian had no strength to support herself and collapsed into the rain.

"Jiang Yimian, please don't die now. It would be best if you could hold on until the day of my wedding with A Jin."

"That way you'll be able to understand how your mother feels."

"He died with his eyes wide open in disbelief."

The rain was heavy, but Jiang Yimian listened to every single word.

Lu Yiwan got up and left, closing the door behind her. It was only noon, but the sky felt as dark and gloomy as night.

She knelt on the stone path, her white dress completely soaked, blood dripping down with the rain. Her whole body was covered in blood, mixed with the rain, making it look like a murder.
