Chapter 2 "I want to report this to the police; I've been sexually harassed..."

"I want to report this to the police; I was sexually harassed."

The moment she left Chen Jianjin, Song Wan contacted a female classmate who also needed volunteer service. After explaining the situation to the teacher, she went to the nearest police station.

The officer on duty was a male. Upon hearing this, he glanced at Song Wan, stood up, and said, "Wait a moment."

He went around through the side door, and soon a policewoman came out.

It was late at night when I left the police station after giving my statement.

The autumn wind was bleak, and Song Wan was dressed rather lightly, so she rubbed her arms.

It was late, and the campus streets were deserted, with the streetlights casting long shadows of her.

The phone in her shoulder bag vibrated, and Song Wan belatedly rummaged through it.

It was Lian Huaiyang who asked her why she hadn't gone to the library today.

Even the message he sent in the evening was from him, saying that his mother had sent him fruit and specifically asked him to bring it to her to try.

They all came from the same place and attended the same school from elementary to high school.

They didn't change classes when they entered junior high school, and were classmates for nine years. Although they were in the same high school, after the division into science and humanities tracks in the second year, he studied science and she studied humanities, and they were on different floors and almost never saw each other.

But because the two families lived very close to each other, they would go home together every week after high school.

Song Wan is introverted and slow to warm up. She lives in a mixed-gender dormitory with roommates from different colleges. They have different class times and schedules, so they basically don't get to hang out together.

I've been here for two months and still only have Lian Huaiyang as a friend.

Perhaps today's events had too much of an impact on her, or perhaps the loneliness of being all alone on the streets late at night was too overwhelming, but Song Wan unconsciously pressed the call button.

When she came to her senses again, a voice came from the other end: "Hello?"

Song Wan paused for a moment, her eyes welling up with tears. "Did I disturb you?"

"No." Lian Huaiyang smiled. "Why did you suddenly decide to make a phone call today?"

Song Wan never spoke to him on the phone; they always communicated through chat software.

Song Wan had a lot to say, but when it came to it, she couldn't bring herself to say it.

She found it difficult to talk about.

There was no answer on the other end of the phone, so Lian Huaiyang asked, "Why didn't you go to the library today?"

Tears streamed down her face as Song Wan bit the back of her hand to stifle her sobs.

After a long while, just as Lian Huaiyang was wondering if there was a problem with his phone signal, he heard Song Wan's hoarse voice: "Something came up, so I sent a classmate over."

"You have a cold?"

There was a whooshing sound coming from the receiver.

Lian Huaiyang frowned. "You're outside?"

Song Wan gave a vague "hmm," and said, "We're downstairs at the dorm. I'll hang up now. You should get some rest too."

As if afraid he would ask too many questions, she finished speaking in one breath and hung up the phone.

Everyone in the dormitory had already gone to sleep. Song Wan tiptoed into the washroom, brushed her teeth again and again until her tongue was numb, before finally giving up and letting herself go.

She lay in bed, her thoughts a jumbled mess, as if she had thought about a lot of things, yet also as if she hadn't thought about anything at all. She drifted off to sleep without realizing it.

At 9:40 the next day, Song Wan was awakened by her phone vibrating under her pillow. It was an incoming call, and the contact name was the policewoman from the previous night.

Her roommates had early classes, leaving her alone in the dorm.

Song Wan slid to the answer button. The policewoman said that Chen Jianjin had arrived at the police station, but his statement differed from hers, and suggested that she come over.

Song Wan washed up as quickly as possible and rushed to the police station.

The lawyer is negotiating with the police.

Chen Jianjin didn't sleep well last night. All he could see when he closed his eyes was that kiss in the car. He was unusually excited, both mentally and physically, like he was on drugs.

They agreed to have breakfast together today.

Thinking of this, Chen Jianjin became extremely irritated. He lowered the brim of his baseball cap and leaned back in the uncomfortable chair.

Didn't you say you'd call Song Wan? Why hasn't she arrived yet?

The thought had barely formed when hurried footsteps approached from afar.

Chen Jianjin suddenly opened his eyes and removed the hat covering his face.

Today she wore a white shirt and a belted skirt; yesterday she wore jeans, a tank top, and a cardigan.

Different outfits, yet every single one looks absolutely stunning.

His gaze fell upon her, direct and intense, reminding Song Wan of the wet, sticky kiss from the previous night.

She turned her face away, trying to ignore his gaze, and clenched her fists to force herself to calm down.

When the policewoman saw Song Wan, she succinctly pointed out the discrepancy between the two sides' accounts: "He said you two are boyfriend and girlfriend."

“No,” Song Wan said resolutely, “we don’t know each other.”

“Miss Song is lying.” The male lawyer wearing gold-rimmed glasses spoke with ease, his sharp gaze falling on Song Wan’s face through the lenses. He stated calmly, “Miss Song is a member of the shooting club. Unfortunately, my client is the club president.”

"So what?" Song Wan gritted her teeth. "Does that cover up his heinous act of sexual harassment?"

The male lawyer smiled and turned to the female police officer, saying, "So, Ms. Song is lying. They know each other and are in a romantic relationship. My client did kiss Ms. Song, that's true. Later, they had a small argument, and Ms. Song is still angry."

How can this person be so blatantly contradicting themselves?!

Song Wan shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes again. "No, I didn't make a false police report. We're not in that kind of relationship."

Thinking of something, Song Wan became agitated and grabbed the policewoman's hand, "We can check the surveillance footage, the footage from downstairs in the administration building. He forcibly dragged me into the car."

Song Wan's emotions seemed genuine, and the policewoman said with some reluctance, "The crime scene was in the garden, where there were no surveillance cameras."

The male lawyer smiled even more broadly, adjusting his glasses. "We contacted members of their agency before we came, and they can verify the relationship between the two. They should be here soon."

"Sit over there and rest for a while."

The policewoman kindly offered a reminder.

Song Wan sat on a bench against the wall on the other side, her thoughts a jumbled mess.

Yu Guang handed her a paper cup. Song Wan thought it was a policewoman and was about to take it and thank her when she looked up and met Chen Jianjin's chilling eyes.

She withdrew her outstretched fingertips and immediately moved away. Unfortunately, she had just been sitting at the very end of the table, so she thought of getting up.

Chen Jianjin was the first to see through her intentions, and he blocked her way with his arm, his well-defined knuckles pressing down on the iron handrail on Song Wan's right side.

He held her close in his arms.

The policewoman was nowhere to be found; he was not in the room. His lawyer was sitting on a bench on the other side, resting with his eyes closed.

Song Wan was startled and tried to call for help, but he covered her mouth first.

He's still at the police station, how dare he?!

Chen Jianjin shifted to kneeling on one knee on the bench, using one hand to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. He lowered his head and whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Baby, we agreed to have breakfast together, how could you lie to me?"

His hand moved down, supporting her waist. Under Song Wan's horrified gaze, his palm slowly moved upward until the base of his thumb and forefinger was under her rounded breasts.

The boy's hands were large and strong, with intricate, pale blue veins.

At this moment, Song Wan even forgot to struggle, her body trembling with fear.

She behaved a little better, which pleased Chen Jianjin, and his tone softened. "If you don't behave next time, it won't just be a kiss, okay?"

Although Chen Jianjin really wanted to do it, he decided to hold back, considering that Song Wan might think it was too fast.

He'd tolerated being together for two months, so he'd tolerate it for another month this time.

She said they had no feelings for each other, and this month was used to cultivate those feelings.

She was so obedient, her misty eyes filled with tears as she looked at him.

Chen Jianjin's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he lowered his head and kissed her earlobe deeply.

Finally, they released the person.

Having gained her freedom, Song Wan was like a caged animal, and immediately wanted to get away from this madman.

Chen Jianjin took her hand, hooked a finger at the paper bag next to him, and gestured: "We agreed to have breakfast together."

Eat your grandpa's head!

Good manners prevented Song Wan from swearing; instead, she simply passed him the soy milk and splashed it all over his face.

The policewoman pushed the door open and came in at that moment.

Look at Song Wan, then look at Chen Jianjin.

The male lawyer also opened his eyes, which had been dozing, and smiled: "The young couple is having a tantrum. It must be hard on you police officers."

The policewoman took a few steps inside, and the person behind her also revealed his face.

It's Jiao Qian.

Her gaze lingered for a moment on Song Wan and Chen Jianjin's intertwined hands before shifting away.

Song Wan broke free of her restraints and stepped forward. "Senior, please explain to them that I have nothing to do with Chen Jianjin."

Jiao Qian's gaze passed over Song Wan and landed on the boy behind her.

Wearing a hoodie without a hood and drawstring sweatpants, he sat with his legs open on an iron chair, his bangs wet, wiping his face with a wet tissue.

His expression was indifferent, and he showed no interest in their negotiations.

"Senior sister." Song Wan looked at her hopefully.

Jiao Qian took a deep breath, looked away, and said to the policewoman, "They are boyfriend and girlfriend."

Song Wan's hopes were shattered. She couldn't believe her ears and tearfully accused him, "Why did you lie? Don't you like him? Why did you say that? You're protecting him."

They looked at her calmly, as if she were a madwoman.

At that moment, a deep sense of powerlessness swept over my entire body.

My eyes were covered, and my vision was plunged into darkness.

Chen Jianjin tenderly pulled her into his arms to comfort her, seemingly forgetting that he was the one who was responsible for this whole incident.

In the darkness, Song Wan heard footsteps again, steady and powerful.

Then came the respectful voice of the policewoman: "Chief."

The man's voice was deep and resonant as he said jokingly, "My nephew had a fight with his girlfriend, and you all had a good laugh at him."

Who would dare to laugh at the police chief?

How ironic.

Song Wan, who was forcibly carried into the car by Chen Jianjin, felt like a clown.

The partition is raised, creating a separate space for the rear seats.

Chen Jianjin produced another breakfast from somewhere, opened the paper bag and placed it on the armrest between the two of them. "Eat a little first, and I'll take you to eat something even better later. Which do you prefer, Chinese or Western food?"

Song Wan smiled sarcastically, deliberately trying to shut him up: "Don't you know me well?"

Chen Jianjin nodded, "Then let's have Hunan cuisine."

Song Wan gritted her teeth, unable to speak, and simply turned her face away, refusing to look at him again.

She likes spicy food, but Chen Jianjin is afraid that eating too much will harm her health, so he ordered half spicy dishes and half non-spicy dishes.

He's now playing the gentle boyfriend again, serving her food and drinks, as if the person who threatened her at the police station wasn't the same one.

How can people be divided like this?

Song Wan had no appetite and didn't touch the food Chen Jianjin had picked up for her.

"Don't you like these?"

Song Wan kept a cold face and ignored her.

The dishes on the round table were changed round after round, but Song Wan remained untouched.

Chen Jianjin curled his lips, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Don't like Hunan cuisine? Let's go to another restaurant."

He reached out to take Song Wan's hand, but she forcefully shook him off.

Their eyes met, and the hatred and anger in the girl's eyes were breathtaking.

"Oh."

Chen Jianjin suddenly smiled, his warm fingertips gently touching her cheek, and asked softly, "Don't want to eat... Baby, do you want to go back?"

He stood while she sat, so Song Wan had to look up at him.

The boy's eyes curved like a crescent moon, and the intricate patterns of the crystal chandelier reflected in his smiling eyes, exuding an ultimate gentle allure.

Song Wan thought he had come to his senses and was finally going to let her go, but she saw his expression change in an instant. He grabbed her chin and said coldly, "I'm still hungry, baby."

Releasing her, Chen Jianjin grabbed the drawstring of the sweatpants, wrapped it around his palm, and easily pulled it out.

Her heart was pounding, and in the blink of an eye, Song Wan turned and ran outside.

She was a step too slow; as she grabbed the doorknob, a large hand reached out from behind and pressed firmly against the door frame.

Chen Jianjin grabbed her waist and turned her around.

Song Wan was so scared that her teeth were chattering.

She regretted it; she shouldn't have provoked him.

This guy is a complete madman!

Chen Jianjin slowly and methodically tied her hands.

"Baby, you're shaking."

He pressed down on both of her wrists with one palm and lifted them high above his head.

With her back against the door frame, Song Wan was forced to meet his gaze in a humiliating posture of standing on tiptoe and puffing out her chest.

Chen Jianjin bent his knees to push her legs apart, and his fingertips touched the buttons on her shirt collar.

A single tear suddenly rolled down Song Wan's cheek, and she cried out in alarm, "No...no...Chen Jianjin!"

Chen Jianjin seemed not to hear, his slender fingers prying open the white buttons one by one.

She wore a white camisole underneath, the thin straps digging into her slender shoulders, revealing her rounded breasts that could be grasped in one hand.

Her half-tied ponytail was loose, and stray hairs fell down. Song Wan shook her head desperately, crying and begging for mercy: "Please... Chen Jianjin... don't..."

Chen Jianjin climbed up her slender waist, his thumb and forefinger wedging an inch above her waist.

His breathing became heavier, and he lowered his head.

The boy's warm, moist breath brushed against my chest, and his thin lips paused two fingers' distance away.

Song Wan bit her lower lip, her teary eyes filled with pleading.

Chen Jianjin smiled with satisfaction, his eyes fixed on her innocent almond-shaped eyes. "Baby, I'm hungry."
