Chapter 7 Waiting for You to Grow Up

After Yu Muyang expressed his feelings, he remained silent for a long time. Yan Cuo's heart was still beating wildly. The sky was getting darker and darker, and there was no one in the park.

He looked down at Yan Cuo, his expression serious and sincere: "Don't feel pressured, you can think about it carefully. I will wait slowly until you grow up." Yan Cuo clenched the corner of his clothes tightly and looked up at him: "Okay, when I grow up, we will be together. I will work hard to catch up with you, and when we reach the same height, we will be together."

The two looked at each other and smiled. Under the dim streetlight were two young figures, who had made their promise in this place.

Yan Cuo thought that the road ahead might be difficult, but Yan Cuo was willing to fight for him, just for his rare courage and persistence.

They walked home along the street lights, their long backs intertwined, looking like a pair of intimate lovers. They knew each other's feelings and were both happy.

The winter night is very cold, but they feel very warm at this moment, because their hearts are warm, and then everything is warm.

That year, Yan Cuo was 15 and Yu Muyang was 17. At this age when they still didn't understand what love was, they met someone who was willing to persevere and work hard for them.

There is never a lack of laughter and tears on the road to growth, but as long as we are by each other's side, that's enough.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Yan Cuo's hands felt a little cold, so she rubbed them. Seeing this, Yu Muyang placed her hands in his palms, gently holding them and breathing slowly.

Yancuo was a little shy, but she didn't pull her hand away. The warmth in his palm was truly heartwarming. On this winter night, he was the only one she had eyes for. She suddenly wished this road would never end, that she could walk it with him forever.

Soon they reached the alley in front of Yancuo's house and stopped. "Then I'm leaving. You should go home early and talk to your parents. Don't get beaten again. It will hurt me. By the way, Happy New Year! Yu Muyang, I'll go to Yanfen to find you after I finish my high school entrance exam."

Yan Cuo smiled playfully after saying this, then turned and walked towards his home deep in the alley.

Yu Muyang stood there and watched her walk forward, feeling satisfied. The little girl had grown up. Thinking of his parents at home, Yu Muyang did not intend to compromise this time. He was determined and walked towards home.

When Yancuo returned home, she was surprised to find that the lights in the living room were still on. Her uncle and aunt were sitting on the sofa, as if waiting for her. Yancuo felt a little flustered and walked to the sofa and sat down. "Uncle and aunt, it's so late, aren't you still asleep?" Her uncle looked at her in silence for a while, as if he was thinking about something.

But his aunt spoke up: "Who was the boy who sent you back? We've seen him several times. What's your relationship?" Yan Cuo was a little overwhelmed by his aunt's directness. He stammered, "He's just a classmate. He helped me with my studies. He ran into some trouble this time, so I came to comfort him."

The aunt looked at Yancuo, as if to confirm the truth of what he said. Yancuo was very panicked, afraid that his uncle and aunt would think he was a bad boy, and he didn't know how to explain it.

My uncle suddenly spoke up, "I told you you're overthinking it. Yancuo is a good kid. She'll definitely focus on her studies. We all need to trust her." My aunt spoke after a while, a little serious, "This is best. You're still young. Don't follow those messy people and fall in love. Focus on your studies, okay?"

Yan Cuo nodded seriously: "Okay, aunt, I know, I will study hard and will not let you down." Aunt looked at her, her expression was not so serious anymore, and Yan Cuo's heart was quietly relieved, "Then I'll go back to my room, aunt. Good night, uncle and aunt." With that, her figure disappeared in the living room.

Watching the figure disappear, the uncle said softly: "The child has grown up and is more lively than before. This is a good thing. We as parents should support her. Look how hard she works now. We should be her backing."

My aunt didn't say anything. She turned back to her room and took out a new set of clothes. It was Yancuo's. She walked to Yancuo's room and put the new clothes on her bed. Yancuo looked at the new clothes with a little surprise, "Aunt, is this for me?"

Her aunt looked at her and said, "Isn't it for me? Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. We are a family now, and you can't be left out." Yan Cuo was overjoyed, her eyes shining. "Thank you, aunt. I like it very much." Her aunt snorted and walked out of the room.

Yan Cuo looked at the new clothes on the bed, feeling extremely complicated.

Before this, she had never thought that her uncle and aunt would truly treat her as a family member and would truly treat her well. But at this moment, Yancuo felt that she was truly accepted, cared for, and taken care of.

Yancuo didn't know how to express her gratitude. She only knew that the joy and happiness in her heart were real. Everything was too unreal, making her want to cry.

The clothes are bright red and paired with black jeans. It looks simple but good-looking.

Yan Cuo couldn't let it go, and carefully put it in the closet and hung it up, thinking of taking it out and wearing it tomorrow. Late at night, Yan Cuo fell into a deep sleep with a smile on his face.

The next day was New Year's Eve, and Yancuo was awakened by the sound of firecrackers early in the morning.

Outside the window, the sound of firecrackers continued to blare, and brilliant fireworks bloomed in the sky, a truly beautiful sight. Yancuo ran downstairs and saw that his uncle and aunt had already woken up. His uncle was putting up spring couplets, and Yancuo hurried over to help.

My aunt was preparing dishes for New Year's Eve, filling the entire kitchen. Yancuo felt a warm feeling overflowing within him, a joy that filled his heart, which should be called happiness.
