Chapter 87 Kissing to Restore Memory
"You choose what dip you want, and there's basil pesto and red tomato pesto, and there's paprika and garlic powder," Sewell said.
"Did you go and search someone else's kitchen?" Darien looked at him.
"You secretly searched my kitchen?" Liana widened her eyes in surprise.
"He was just discussing seasoning with me," Mrs. Carolla said. "Liana, please be polite to our guest."
"Miss Lianna, your seasoning has the flavor of the Stemino Plain." Seville said with a smile.
"Of course, my mother's seasoning is the authentic Stemino Plain flavor, which is different from the modified flavors in the city." Lianna said proudly.
"Then what seasonings should I add to make the fish taste better?" Darien pulled out the grilled fish from the charcoal fire.
"All it takes is some sea salt and a simple squeeze of lemon to bring out the flavor of the fish," Liana said with a playful wink. "Basil pesto would be great too."
"Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have basil pesto." Darien looked at Sevier.
"Okay, master." Seville smiled and brought a bowl of green sauce, and was about to brush it for him with a small brush.
"I'll do it myself, you help me wrap a piece of crisp bread." Darien pushed his hand away.
Seville obeyed obediently, picked up the bread cubes on a fork and dipped them into the boiling cheese pot.
Mrs. Fitch and Mrs. Carola exchanged their kitchen secrets in front of the cupboard, discussing everything from beef consommé to salt-baked sea bass, from jam pots to bread ovens.
Darian brushed the fish with a thick layer of basil pesto. Before, he only knew that this pesto should be eaten with noodles, but he didn't know what it would taste like when eaten with fish.
Sewell wrapped him in a piece of crusty bread and sat down to roast the rabbit.
Darien blew on the fish, waited for the heat to dissipate, and then took a small bite.
The first thing you put in your mouth is the basil pesto on the noodles. The fresh aroma of basil is mixed with the oiliness of olive oil, with a little bit of nutty aroma. The fish meat is only slightly burnt on the edge, and you can't taste any flavor at all.
"How does it taste?" Lianna asked expectantly.
"I couldn't taste anything. I only tasted the sauce, which was well seasoned," Darien said honestly.
"Hey, try it again!" Lianna urged him.
Darien took another bite, and the tender fish burned his mouth: "Hot, hot, hot!"
Seville quickly put down the roasted rabbit and poured him a large glass of wine.
Darien was gasping for air due to the scalding fish juices, and when the glass of wine was handed to him, he quickly gulped down most of it.
My tongue still hurts a bit.
Seville took the bitten piece of fish, put it on a plate, sliced it, and then blew it carefully before handing it to Darien.
When Darien saw it, he thought of his burned tongue and didn't want to eat it: "Don't eat this."
Sewell thought for a moment and took a bite. "It's not hot anymore. It tastes great."
Darien then took it.
"That's so sweet. Is he your lover?" Lianna asked.
"Why do you ask that suddenly?" Darien got goosebumps all over his body.
“Because you eat from the same plate, and he cares about you,” Liana said.
"He is just my assistant and my butler, so it is his duty to do these things for me..." Darien was almost unable to be stubborn. After Lianna's reminder, he also felt that there was something wrong with Seville.
"Everything I do for my master is out of duty, and I care about my master in every possible way," said Sewell with a smile.
Darien didn't refute him at this time simply because he didn't want to refute himself, so he could only glare at Sewell secretly several times.
"Hehe, why don't you admit it? Our whole family is very open-minded and we don't discriminate against people who like the same sex." Lianna has been observing them and taking in all their actions.
"Oh, they're not, Miss Lianna, it's just that Sewell is very meticulous in his work and he's very careful about everything about Darien." Mrs. Fitch interrupted her.
"No!" Liana retorted, but before she could say anything else, Mrs. Carolla stopped her.
"Lianna, you are not any of them, how can you know how they feel? So let's leave this question to them." Mrs. Carola said with a smile.
"Okay." Lianna pouted.
Darien felt his face burning. When people are embarrassed, they always find something to do to keep themselves busy.
He lowered his head and ate the entire plate of fish in one gulp. It should have tasted delicious, but he ate it too hastily, so most of the flavor was lost.
Sewell seemed to be in a completely unaffected mood. He was busy roasting rabbit and fish, blowing them cool after roasting, and then putting them on his plate.
Darien just kept eating until he burped.
As night fell, Lianna's family invited them to a family concert in the living room.
In addition to Mrs. Carolla's floral fabrics, the living room also had specimens of deer antlers and fish bones, all of which they had cut themselves.
Beneath these decorations, Lianna's family played music.
Some of the instruments used were familiar to Darien, while others were unfamiliar. There was a mandolin that looked very much like a lute, an accordion, a violin, and a three-pipe wind instrument whose name he didn't know.
A cheerful tune played in the family band, and Liana, her mother, and a young boy began to dance on the empty floor.
The carpeted wooden floor made a crisp sound from the stomping of heels, and the black braids and the hem of the flowery skirt flew up.
"Come on, you guys come too." Lianna clapped her hands, her eyes filled with joy. "Don't be shy, just dance with your hands and feet!"
"Here I come! Let you see how powerful Mrs. Fitch is!" Mrs. Fitch entered the dance floor and raised her hand to create a gust of wind, making the atmosphere even more lively.
"Dear master, let's dance a Saltarello together. Such cheerful music is very suitable for dancing an equally cheerful dance," said Seville.
"Okay." Looking at his eager eyes, Darien agreed reluctantly.
"Come on, you can also dance Saltareno, so join in." Lianna urged them.
Darien grabbed Sewell's arm and stepped onto the dance floor together. Although they were only dancing on a large carpet, their legs were dancing very hard and the sound of the floor formed a new melody.
"Watch your feet, Sevier, you almost stepped on me just now." Darien pinched Sevier.
"I'm sorry, Master. I will be more serious." Sewell apologized in a low voice.
Saltareno is a very simple dance. Two people hold each other's arms, form a circle with their arms, look into each other's eyes and dance their legs together, keeping the same pace no matter which direction they go.
It was a happy enough night. They danced for a long time, and Lianna's family burst into applause for them, saying that they were definitely a tacit dance partner.
Only Darien knew that the person dancing with him was a fool, always half a beat behind, and he needed his attention at all times to bring him back on track.
The family concert ended before midnight, and then it was time to take turns washing up. There were only two bathrooms, one for ladies and one for men.
"Good night, dear guests. I hope you can have a wonderful night here. You can try to go to the attic and open the window. At night, there will be a beautiful starry sky above this field. They are very bright." Mrs. Carola said goodbye to them. This was their last meeting tonight.
"Good night, Mrs. Carola. I'm glad to be here tonight. It's wonderful here." Darien had two blushes on his face, which looked beautiful, as if rose petals had fallen on his cheeks.
"Good night." Sewell's face was not red at all, and he didn't look like he had been dancing with him for half the night. "Dear master, the hot water is ready. Please go take a bath. I will prepare the room and storybooks for you to get a comfortable sleep."
"You need to take a shower too. I don't want any weird smell in my room." Darien told him.
Sewell nodded.
Lianna's bathroom was simple, with wooden walls and a stone floor, a soap rack, and a wooden bucket instead of a bathtub.
Darien finished his shower quickly, using only water. He didn't dare use the soap, not knowing if it was shared.
As Sewell went in after him, he also reminded him about the soap.
If Sewell had used someone else's public soap, he would have wanted to throw the whole crow away.
Mrs. Carola recommended that they go to the attic to look at the stars, because there was a skylight opening in the attic, and as long as the weather was clear, they could see a brilliant starry sky.
Darien dried his dripping hair, lowered the ladder, and holding the oil lamp, climbed up to see what was in the attic.
There was actually a pile of soft and fluffy hay in the attic. It was wheat straw collected after the wheat harvest this year, and it should be fodder for the cattle.
Darien stepped onto the haystack and stood on it. He could easily push open the skylight with his hand, and the night sky appeared above his head.
The smell of the haystack was not unpleasant, but had a mellow aroma of wheat, so Darian piled the haystack flatter, found a good angle to lie down, and could see the starry night sky slowly twinkling.
Not long after lying down, his body relaxed and his mind felt a little drowsy, but he was not really asleep. Some suspicious memories slowly emerged from his mind.
The memories felt absurdly like a chaotic and shameful dream he had.
He solved the problem for the succubus but ended up getting himself into trouble. Seville asked him for a kiss, confessed his feelings to him, and he actually hesitated and allowed the kiss...
Are these things happening real?
It should be true. He drank the amnesia potion and so did Seville.
He felt dizzy and hot. Did Seville have fish tonight? Would he also recall these memories? What should they say then...
No, are these memories real? Maybe there's something wrong with my memory, or maybe it's the effect of hallucinogens...
Darien's thoughts were in a tizzy.
"Dear master, what's wrong with you? You don't look well." Seville's voice sounded in his ears.
Darien wanted to speak, but found that his throat seemed to be choked and he couldn't say anything.
If the memory is false, then what about the person, what about Seville in front of him?
Darien grabbed Savior's arm and, under his incredulous gaze, kissed him.
