Chapter 67: Venting Tools?

Ning Yizhan looked into Qiu Hu's eyes, touched the hair by her ear, and said with a half-threatening smile, "You said it yourself, no regrets. If you go back on your word, I won't be so good-natured."

"Actually, what I wanted to say was, aren't you a bit too love-struck?"

"I won't do it again. After all, it was my first time dating, and I had no experience."

"..." This reply left Qiu Hu at a loss for words, unsure how to continue the conversation.

Ning Yizhan continued to play with the woman's hair, casually asking, "So, tell me, why did you suddenly want to see me?"

Qiu Hu knew she couldn't escape this question. After a moment of silence, Ning Yizhan didn't urge her. She asked, "Do you have a dream?"

"Yes, when I was ten years old, my dream was to buy an island and live there in seclusion, taking the sea breeze with me."

Qiu Hu was quite surprised; he hadn't expected his dream to be this. "An island? Did you buy it?"

"Not yet. I've seen many islands, but Lake Creek Island is my favorite."

"Huxi Island, why is it called Huxi Island?" In Qiu Hu's view, Huxi Island is nothing special.

"I don't know, maybe it's just that I like the look of you, just like you."

"So you approached me because of Lake Creek Island?"

Ning Yizhan was shocked by Qiu Hu's thought process, but he still patiently explained to her, "It's not that bad. I'm not that despicable. Why don't you believe me? I like you, I love you!"

Qiu Hu was startled by his sudden confession. Facing those two burning gazes, her ears turned red. She looked away and sat up. "I didn't disbelieve you."

Ning Yizhan sat up with her. He looked at the woman who was speaking with her head down, her tone seemingly filled with guilt. Without thinking, he pulled her into his arms, stroked her hair, and said in a good mood, "Yes, I understand."

"And what about you? What is your dream?"

Qiu Hu felt the warmth of Ning Yizhan's embrace. She buried her head in his chest and recalled what her dream was. "When I was very young, my dream was to become the director of a hospital, because my parents worked in the hospital at that time. If I became the director, I could give them a holiday."

"You're quite imaginative! I thought you wanted to be a doctor!"

"Aren't two doctors in the family enough?"

After a moment's thought, Qiu Hu asked his next question, "Have you ever been abandoned?"

“Yes, you are!” Ning Yizhan blurted out.

Qiu Hu had no way to respond to that.

Ning Yizhan didn't press her, but he knew that Qiu Hu might have had this experience, otherwise she wouldn't have asked such a question. So he decided to break through the barrier, "Have you ever been abandoned?"

"I thought I had been abandoned, but then I found out I hadn't."

"Go on and tell me more."

Qiu Hu told Ning Yizhan everything she knew, and said with a sob in her voice, "I was wrong all along. I know I was wrong. I'm sorry."

Ning Yizhan's gentle, magnetic voice came from above her head, "It's okay. You were young then. It's good that you know the truth now! Anyway, I promise you, I'll tell you anything in the future, and you will too, okay?"

"Um".

Ning Yizhan was not satisfied with this "hmm" and corrected him, "You should say you know!"

"I know." Chou Hu, who was crying, seemed unusually obedient.

Ning Yizhan was very satisfied. "Good girl," he said, lifting Qiu Hu's chin and kissing her as if to stamp her name. Without lingering, Ning Yizhan released her, wiped away her tears, and solemnly said, "Don't cry."

He felt that she was very different from usual, much softer than usual, and no longer gave people a cold feeling. Perhaps it was because of what she had just said. So why did she come to see him?

So he asked, "Then why have you come to see me?"

Seeing that he was still asking this question, Qiu Hu didn't intend to beat around the bush. She left his embrace, sat up, and looked at the man in front of her. "After I found out about that matter, all sorts of emotions came over me. I felt sorry and hated Qiu Bing. I was very angry and didn't know what to do. So I thought of seeing you, and that's why I came."

Ning Yizhan listened to her description, his face growing darker and darker. She was furious, so angry she didn't know what to do, yet she came to see him? Wasn't this blatant...? Looking at the woman, who was several feet shorter than him even sitting on the bed, he spoke frankly, "What do you mean? You're using me as a tool for your venting, aren't you! Qiu Hu, you're really something!"
