On this day, while the ten golden crows were cultivating, they saw someone riding on clouds in the distance. His body was covered in mist, his face was full of righteousness, and he was wearing a blue Taoist robe. He was clearly a Taoist master. This person was none other than Styx.
After the Lich Kings slaughtered the human race, they collected human souls to create the Asuras, gaining merit. Later, seeing the Three Pure Ones and others establish their religions and become saints, Styx thought that he was already at the Great Perfection of Quasi-Saint level. If he could obtain the merit of establishing a religion, he might be able to advance further. The more Styx thought about it, the more tempted he became. He said that he could become a saint through this. However, he dared not pursue the human race's interests again, as several saints were watching. He couldn't even entertain the thought of the Lich Kings and the Demon Kings; those saints wouldn't dare to even consider it.
So, after some deliberation, Styx decided to convert the Asura race he had created. However, this merit wasn't easily obtained. The Asura race was inherently deficient, unable to reproduce on their own, and destined not to become the protagonists of the primordial world. To acquire the merit, he first needed to choose a powerful race with the potential to establish a religion. Otherwise, with so many different races in the primordial world, if he could just randomly choose any race and establish a religion, wouldn't that create chaos?
There was no other way. In order to obtain those souls for the Styx to create more Asuras, the Styx set its sights on the Lich and Demon races, hoping to provoke a war between them and use those countless souls to create more Asuras so that it could establish its own religion and gain the merit of its teachings. That is why this journey came about.
These ten golden crows usually cultivated here. Aside from seeing servants sent by the Heavenly Court, few people ever came to this Tang Valley, and they had never left Fusang Island. Therefore, they were very curious about the outside world. Upon seeing someone arrive, the ten golden crows immediately surrounded the Taoist priest, bombarding him with questions. "Taoist priest, where do you come from? Are you a demon? What brings you here?..."
Upon hearing this, Styx was secretly delighted: "What I feared most was that you wouldn't ask. Now that you've asked, things will be much easier." He smiled and said to the ten golden crows, "Slow down, slow down, ask one at a time. I promise I'll answer you, okay? Here, these are fire spirit fruits I picked. They can replenish your fire elemental power. I'll give them to you; eat them first, and then I'll answer you." Styx took out many spirit fruits, giving one to each golden crow. The largest golden crow, while eating the fruit, asked Styx, "Daoist Master, where do you come from?" Styx, with a friendly expression and a slight smile, replied, "I come from the Primordial Continent, traveling here, and have stopped to rest."
"So, which race are you from, the demon race or the other race?" a golden crow asked.
"Of course it's the demon race. This entire world belongs to our demon race," Styx said solemnly. Upon hearing that Styx was a demon, the golden crow relaxed its guard considerably, and was even more delighted to hear Styx say that the entire world belonged to the demon race.
"Daoist Master, how did you come to this Tang Valley?" a golden crow asked again.
"I traveled through the primordial world, wanting to see the whole world and just how vast the territory under the jurisdiction of my demon race really is," Styx replied earnestly.
"Taoist Master, do you know our father, mother, and uncle?" Xiao Shi asked.
"Oh, so you are the sons of Di Jun and Xi He. No wonder you are so polite. I once listened to the Dao Ancestor's teachings with your parents and your uncle. We were fellow disciples. Do you think I know them? Hahaha."
"So the Taoist priest is our senior uncle. We greet you, senior uncle." After saying this, the ten golden crows bowed together.
Seeing that it was about time to get down to business, Styx said, "You've been cultivating here all year round and never go out to explore, so it's normal that you don't recognize me."
"Yes, yes, we absorb the true fire of the sun every day on this Fusang tree. Our royal uncle said that we can only leave after we take human form and can contain the golden fire of the sun that our bodies carry."
"Your royal uncle is afraid that you won't study hard enough, so he requires you to transform into human form before you can go out. This world belongs to my demon race. So what if you go out? Back then, your father, Di Jun, was worshipped by all demons. If you go out, many more people will come to worship you."
"But our uncle has set up a barrier around this island to prevent us from leaving. What should we do?" a golden crow asked cautiously.
"It's alright, once I remove this restriction, you can leave." With that, Styx waved his hand, breaking the restriction placed by Taiyi. He then said to the Ten Golden Crows, "The primordial world is very wonderful, with all sorts of fun things to do. I still have a long journey ahead, so I won't take you out. Go and have fun on your own, and we'll meet again sometime." With that, he flew away.
Seeing that the Styx River had broken the barrier set by Taiyi, the ten Golden Crows, though fearing reprimand from the Eastern Emperor for leaving the island, were unable to resist the allure of the magnificent primordial world. They finally arrived in the primordial world, soaring freely through the skies, captivated by its wonders. Their arrival marked the beginning of the second great calamity since the creation of the primordial world.
Ten golden crows flew away from the sea to the primordial continent. Looking at the scenery they hadn't seen in tens of thousands of years, they cried out in alarm. However, they failed to notice that wherever they flew, rivers dried up, life perished, and vegetation withered and then burned. These ten golden crows inherited the bloodline of Emperor Jun and Xihe, and their bodies were naturally imbued with the True Fire of the Sun. This True Fire of the Sun was arguably one of the most powerful fires besides the innate spiritual fire created at the beginning of creation. Because the ten golden crows had not yet taken human form, they could not control the True Fire of the Sun within their bodies, causing it to leak out and bring annihilation to all living beings in the primordial world.
One day, the ten golden crows flew over a witch tribe. Witches and demons were inherently opposed. Although the ten golden crows did not know who the small tribe below belonged to, they knew that witches and demons could not coexist, so they released the true fire of the sun to burn the witch tribe.
