Chapter 189 Confusion
After passing through the front hall and pushing open a door that was shaking a little, Thor walked into the next room while keeping an eye out for the old wizard's movements.
"It's so dark in here, Thor, can't we turn on the lights?" Victor also followed in and looked at the even darker room with a worried look on his face.
Thor rolled his eyes in the dark, wishing Victor could go out in the rain to clear his head.
But just as he took a step forward, the whole room suddenly became bright.
Thor was stunned and suddenly turned his head to look.
The curtains in this room were neatly drawn, revealing the rectangular windows and beautiful garden behind.
It's sunny outside the window.
Thor frowned tightly, "Is this... an illusion or a loss of control?"
He turned around to ask Victor, but was surprised to find that there was no one behind him.
At the same time, the door behind him closed tightly.
Thor hurried forward and turned the door handle.
The door opened smoothly, and there was no classic horror movie scene where it was locked and couldn't be opened.
Outside the door was the antechamber that Thor had just walked through.
But at this time, the front hall was also bright, with sunlight shining in from the windows on both sides. Where were the dark clouds and rainstorms? Even tiny dust particles could be seen dancing in the room.
But there was no one here, neither Victor nor the old man and boy who came in later.
"Victor?" Thor called his companion's name in a low voice.
No one responded.
His hand holding the door handle gradually tightened, and the metal handrail began to deform after groaning.
"Space is disordered... time is disordered... How could such an extraordinary scene appear in a place where only formal wizards existed?"
"That guy should still be in the same place." Thor was not very worried about Victor.
Victor has been in the second level for many years, so nothing should go wrong.
"Walking around blindly may not lead to finding Victor. It is better to look for the treasure first. Maybe we can solve this puzzle." Thor rolled his eyes and said to himself, "Yes, I must find the treasure first."
"Bang!"
Just as Thor was about to go back, the door of the front hall was suddenly pushed open roughly.
A tall warrior in armor rushed in with several of his men.
The other person saw Thor standing at the door at a glance.
"Is there anyone alive here?" The warrior narrowed his eyes, the sword in his hand ready to strike.
"Captain, could it be a ghost?" asked one of the men dressed as soldiers.
"It doesn't matter if it's a living ghost." The warrior said, walking towards Thor.
Thor didn't hide, he was also trying to determine whether the other person was a ghost.
"Who are you?"
"Kid, is it your turn to ask?" A soldier grinned and suddenly took out a bottle and was about to throw it at Thor.
However, a large hand suddenly held down the soldier's hand and the bottle - it was the tall warrior in armor.
"My name is Olaf, and I am a knight appointed by Viscount Buck of Megau. May I ask who you are, sir?"
Thor did not answer Olaf immediately. He turned his head slightly and looked at the soldier who almost threw the bottle at him.
He had seen that face just now.
He had looked closely at this face before, but it had no eyes or nose, and Thor still remembered the scar at the corner of his mouth.
"Asshole, our captain is asking you a question!"
As Thor did not answer, the soldiers around Olaf began to feel dissatisfied.
But Olaf just stood there, his expression becoming more and more serious.
"What day is today?" Thor suddenly asked as the soldier was scolding.
The soldiers were stunned by this sudden question.
Olaf said solemnly, "Today is May 14th."
“It was half a month ago.”
Thor's words completely confused the person on the other side.
Some soldiers even muttered, "Have we met a madman?"
"Did you just enter Ralph Manor?" Thor asked again.
His strange behavior calmed down the originally irritable soldiers, and they all looked at him with surprise.
Olaf lowered his wrist slightly and took two steps forward.
"We were indeed ordered by the Viscount to enter here just now. Then who are you? When did you come in?"
Then what answered him was a huge translucent palm.
Olaf quickly rolled over to avoid the hand, which failed to catch him but caught the soldier who was about to throw a bottle at Thor.
"Wizard...Wizard!?" Olaf dodged subconsciously but was not glad that he had dodged successfully. His eyes were filled with fear as he looked at Thor.
“Master Wizard…” The captured soldier did not dare to struggle at all. His expression instantly changed from arrogance to fear. He kept begging for mercy, “I… am not… please, please forgive me.”
The mage's hand pulled the soldier in front of Thor before throwing him to the ground.
The soldier lay on the ground trembling, not daring to get up.
Thor possessed the soldier and pulled the bottle he was about to throw out from his fingers.
The bottle was cool and felt normal in my hand, not like an illusion.
Thor waved his hand again, and an arrow suddenly appeared, piercing the soldier's palm and piercing into the stone bricks on the ground.
"Ah!!!" the soldier wailed, his body twitching in pain.
Blood flowed out of the wound and fell to the ground.
"The traces of blood also look normal, and don't seem like hallucinations."
But if it wasn't an illusion, it would be even more difficult.
Thor's move immediately frightened the soldiers on the opposite side.
This place has been abandoned for two years. The wizard tower has never been managed, and wandering wizards rarely enter a place so close to the wizard tower. So they did not expect that other wizards would appear here.
The swords they held tightly were shaking, but they didn't even have the courage to raise their hands.
In this world, who dares to be an enemy of wizards? Unless there are more powerful wizards on one's side.
"We were unreasonable, sir." Knight Olaf lowered his head and put down the sword in his hand, pointing the tip of the sword to the ground. "We just didn't expect you to be here. We apologize for your words. Please forgive David this time."
Thor tossed the bottle in his hand and caught it again. "What is this?"
Olaf pursed his lips and said, "This is holy oil blessed by witchcraft. It is harmful to spirits."
Upon hearing this, Thor pulled out the cork, took a look, and put it back.
Poor quality witchcraft products are not even the lowest level witchcraft props.
There are some light element particles in it, which probably use the natural antagonism between light and dark particles to eliminate weaker spirits.
It won't be of much use if you encounter a vengeful spirit, let alone the current chaotic predicament.
And if these people really came here half a month ago, they should all be dead by now unless they brought enough food.
Thinking of this, Thor waved his hand and dispelled the witchcraft.
Soldier David trembled all over and covered his wound, but he didn't dare to get up immediately.
"Olaf, come here."
The knight's breathing stagnated and he swallowed nervously. He sheathed his sword to indicate that he had no intention of attacking anyone, then he walked up to Thor with difficulty.
"Turn around." Thor ordered again.
Olaf turned nervously, not sure what Thor was going to do.
Looking at Olaf's back, Thor finally confirmed that he was the man kneeling in the lobby when he just entered the castle.
Because they all died in the antechamber, Thor could see their past here? "Come with me, and you too." He pointed at Olaf and David, who was lying on the ground.
Olaf helped David up, and the two looked at each other with bitter faces, but they did not dare to delay and hurried to catch up with Thor.
Passing through the inner door, Thor once again entered the bright room next door. This time he consciously paid attention to the movements of the two people behind him.
But just as he entered the room and took another step forward, the knight Olaf and the soldier David behind him disappeared again.
Even Thor, who had been observing the two in semi-immersive meditation, did not notice anything.
His heart tightened and his vision suddenly darkened.
The heavy rain hit the window frames, making crackling sounds.
He actually returned to Ralph Manor half a month later! Thor closed his eyes, holding the holy oil bottle in his hand, still real and cold.
