Chapter 9 A Woman Was Hidden in the House

Chapter 9 A Woman Was Hidden in the House

Visiting room.

Shang Wu sat quietly at the table, her palms already slightly sweaty.

Footsteps could be heard outside.

The door was opened, and a staff member pushed a person in.

"Visiting time is 30 minutes. No physical contact is allowed, and no loud noises are permitted."

Upon hearing this, Shang Wu looked up and saw her brother, whom she hadn't seen for more than half a year.

Wearing handcuffs and a prison uniform, Shang Yun Shen's rugged and handsome face now bore several more faint scars.

He was no longer the dashing young master of a merchant family, dressed in a clean white shirt. Three years in prison had long since worn away the refined and scholarly air about Shang Yun Shen.

Shang Wu's eyes reddened, she clenched her fists and called his name softly.

"elder brother."

Shang Yunshen smiled, walked over and sat opposite her. He wanted to raise his hand but hesitated, then hid his swollen hands and handcuffs under the table.

"Why did you suddenly come to see me during the holidays? Is something wrong with my parents?"

Shang Wu shook her head: "Brother, what's wrong with your face? What happened to your hands? Let me see."

Shang Yun Shen was taken aback, and took a step back: "My hand is fine, but I cut my face when I fell. Don't worry."

"No! Hold out your hand!" Shang Wu pressed down on the corner of the table, on the verge of tears.

Shang Yunshen pursed his thin lips and slowly raised his hand.

Shang Wu's breath hitched.

The hands in front of me were covered with red, swollen bruises, and all the knuckles were scabbed.

Shang Wu bit her lip, tears welling up instantly, and asked in a trembling voice, "Did someone hit you?"

Shang Yun Shen couldn't bear to see her cry, so he immediately raised his hand.

Shang Wu leaned closer.

The staff behind me reminded me: "No physical contact!"

Shang Wu froze, looking at the hand so close to hers, she could even feel the warmth emanating from her brother's hand.

But she couldn't go any closer, so she sadly retreated to her seat, silently weeping as she looked at Shang Yun Shen.

All sorts of people live in prison.

Even if they outwardly obey orders, who knows what might happen after the lights are turned off at night.

My older brother was frail. He loved literature from a young age and studied business when he grew up. He had nothing to do with fighting or killing.

If it weren't for her, if it weren't for her...

Shang Wu's hands were trembling.

She suddenly remembered that night she didn't want to recall.

In her despair, she saw her brother's usually gentle eyes now filled with a sharp, murderous intent as he rushed over to protect her. His figure was so tall and imposing, giving her a sense of security...

Shang Wu turned her head away, biting her lip to suppress her sobs.

Shang Yun Shen was also saddened, and forced a smile: "A Wu, don't worry about me. I'm doing fine here. Everyone who gets in here is a troublemaker, and fights are inevitable. But once they're over, it's nothing. As long as you and Mom and Dad are okay, I can endure any hardship. Don't cry."

Shang Wu cried even harder.

Shang Yun Shen broke out in a cold sweat, and tried to lighten the mood by joking with her: "You didn't have a fight with Zhou Yan Ci, did you? Didn't you say you were getting married last time you came? When exactly?"

Shang Wuxin felt a sinking feeling, and felt nauseous when he mentioned Zhou Yanci.

Over the past three years, she has repeatedly asked Zhou Yanci to take good care of her brother.

Perhaps the beating and targeting of her brother was deliberately arranged by Zhou Yanci.

Shang Wu replied vaguely, "Soon, brother. I came here to ask you if you want to leave as soon as possible, within six months."

Shang Yun Shen said helplessly, "Stop talking nonsense. I've been sentenced to eight years, and even if my sentence is reduced, I won't be out anytime soon."

"I'm just asking you if you want to, answer me." Shang Wu leaned forward anxiously.

Shang Yun Shen was silent for two seconds before meeting her gaze directly: "Did something happen outside? You're acting really strange today."

Shang Wu ignored him: "Write down everything that happened when you hit him, every action, every word, on a piece of paper. Don't miss any details. I'll have someone come and get it next week."

Her gaze was intense, and she tried her best to convey a firm conviction that would convince him: "Brother, trust me, I will get you out of here as soon as possible."

Shang Yun Shen had no desire to go out. He stood up, his brows furrowed with worry: "Explain yourself! Ah Wu, what's going on outside? Don't make me worry."

"It's okay, really it's okay, wait for my news."

Shang Wu clenched her fists, trying to suppress her emotions.

She couldn't say anything.

He trusted the wrong person and risked his life for three years.

She hated him so much she felt like she was going to vomit blood, and she dared not let her brother suffer any more pain.

Let her do it all by herself.

Shang Wu didn't look at Shang Yun Shen again and turned to leave.

A cold wind blew, and she looked up.

The prison is located in a remote area, with only the sky and distant mountains visible when you look up.

This scenery remains unchanged year after year; one gets tired of it at first glance.

But after being framed by Zhou Yanci, the older brother spent three years in prison.

For over a thousand days and nights, there was no French blog to listen to every morning, no hot pot that the whole family loved to eat, and no mystery or suspense comics that I enjoyed reading.

My brother wasted his time here day after day, obeying orders every day as a sinner, completely losing himself.

How innocent, how pitiful.

Shang Wu felt sorry for her brother and was in so much pain that she couldn't breathe. She got into the car, gripped the steering wheel, and buried her head in her hands.

Zhou Yanci has already obtained all the benefits she wanted, and now she wants to ruthlessly eliminate every merchant, even squeezing out every last drop of value from them.

Next, she will return everything to Zhou Yanci.

Shang Wu gripped the steering wheel harder and harder until his knuckles turned white and the veins on the back of his hands bulged.

Thump, thump thump.

A light knocking sounded on the window.

"Miss, could you please move your car?"

Shang Wu looked up, still not having composed herself, wiped away her tears, and turned to leave.

Yan Yue scratched his head and stood there with his hands on his hips.

"Am I seeing things? It's... Shang Wu, the fiancée of the president of Chengzhou Group?"

"Yan Yue".

A deep voice came from behind.

Yan Yue turned around, quickly went over and took the documents from Lu Rang's hand: "Have you gotten the details of what happened?"

Lu Rang nodded slightly: "What were you saying just now?"

He glanced at the departing car.

Yan Yue said "Oh": "I just saw Shang Wu. She seems to be visiting her brother. She was crying very sadly. Tsk, her brother accidentally injured someone for his sister and was sentenced to eight years, ruining his future. If it were me, I would cry every day too."

Lu Rang didn't say anything, checked the contents of the recorder, and turned around.

"I'm going back."

Yan Yue caught up: "Hey, you're really not gossipy at all! By the way, do you want to take her case? Attorney Lu, wait for me!"

...

Meanwhile, after leaving the prison, Shang Wu sent a message to Zhou Yanci.

[The finance department needs your password.]

Still not awake?

Shang Wu sent several messages.

She planned to take the depositors' money to Dingfeng, but unexpectedly, she needed Zhou Yanci's security key.

It's already 10 a.m., and Zhou Yanci still hasn't shown up.

He didn't come home all night, didn't go to the company, and didn't answer phone calls or messages.

I was exhausted from spending so much time with my crush last night.

Shang Wu frowned, stepped on the gas, and headed straight for Zhou Yanci's residence.

Zhou Yanci's house is located behind the Junyue Mansion area, at the end of the Lincheng Bridge, a prime sea-view villa.

She arrived in just ten minutes.

Get out of the car, take the keys, and open the door.

With a click, the door lock opened.

Shang Wu went in and almost tripped over the shoes on the ground.

They were a pair of black high heels.

Next to it were Zhou Yanci's leather shoes, and another pair of round-toed women's leather shoes.

"A-Wu? You, what brings you here!"

Ji Yu came out of the kitchen with coffee and saw Shang Wu's expression, as if she had seen a ghost.

Shang Wu glanced at her.

Ji Yu wore a black halter dress and black high heels, which was a matching set.

Then the other pair of round-toed leather shoes are now dormant.

She walked over, threw her bag on the sofa, and ignored Ji Yu's terrified and nervous eyes.

"If you can come, why can't I? Where's Zhou Yanci?"

Hearing her speak so coldly and rudely, Ji Yu was angry for a moment, but then she couldn't care less about that.

She glanced nervously upstairs: "He's still sleeping upstairs. Did you come here to see him for something? I can pass on a message for you. You should go back to the company and get back to work."

Upon hearing this, Shang Wu smiled enigmatically and said, "Do I need you to relay a message between me and my fiancé?"

Ji Yu was taken aback.

Shang Wu parted her red lips slightly and uttered even colder words: "Also, my position in the company is higher than yours. You have no right to order me back to work. On the contrary, what are you doing here instead of clocking in at work?"

"You, you..." Ji Yu was startled by her aggressive demeanor.

She even felt that Shang Wu's tone of voice not only disliked her and couldn't stand her, but also hated her!

Ji Yu angrily put down her coffee: "Are you ever going to stop? Shang Wu, what did I do to offend you that you have to be so hostile towards me? I just advised you not to put on airs and to do what you need to do with Zhou Yanci, why are you so angry?"

“Yes, I’m very angry, and I don’t want to forgive you right now.” Shang Wu raised an eyebrow. “So, can you get lost now? I have something to say to Zhou Yanci alone.”

As for Zhou Yanci, she still needs to pretend and lie low for the time being in order to achieve her goal of revenge.

But what is Ji Yu anyway?

She's a nobody who was made famous by her but secretly harmed her whole family; he doesn't deserve her kindness anymore.

Ji Yu's lips trembled with anger, and she sneered repeatedly: "Fine, I've been so good to you, and if I say one thing you don't like, this is how you treat me? Shang Wu, you'll regret this!"

She was so angry that she turned around and stormed off.

The moment the door closed, Ji Yu's face turned deathly pale.

Oh no.

Zhou Yanci and Shen Mian are still upstairs.

Ji Yu quickly turned around and knocked on the door.

No one opened the door for her.

She hurriedly took out her phone to call Zhou Yanci, went around to the back window, picked up a stone and started throwing it.

With a commotion, the person upstairs finally woke up.

Zhou Yanci got up from the sofa, glanced at Chenmian who was still fast asleep on the bed, and her eyes flickered.

Last night he went to a bar and saw Chenmian drunk, kissing and hugging strangers.

He had no choice but to take her home and care for her for the night while she was unconscious.

He was obsessed, constantly asking why Chenmian had left back then, and he didn't fall asleep until dawn.

Zhou Yanci pinched the bridge of her nose, regretting her impulsiveness, and got up to answer the phone: "Hello?"

"Shang Wu is at your house!"

Those five short words startled Zhou Yanci, making her heart leap and instantly snap her back to reality.

At the same time, there was a knock on the door.

"Words, are you inside?"

Zhou Yanci tensed up instantly. Without thinking, she grabbed a blanket and piled it on Shen Mian, then crumpled her coat into a ball and threw it under the bed.

Hearing the commotion inside, Shang Wu narrowed her eyes.

"Words? I heard you inside, why aren't you responding to me? I'm coming in."

The next second, the door opened.
