Chapter 8 A Day in the Life of a Cat

Chapter 8 A Day in the Life of a Cat

It's Friday again.

Yin Jiu's daily routine has become very regular these days because he goes to bed early. He gets up at six o'clock every day, washes up simply, goes downstairs and takes a morning run in the community. On the way back, he happens to buy two breakfasts to take back.

I got home around 6:45, took a quick shower, and changed into going-out clothes. It was around 7:00.

Normally this is also the time when Ning Changyue gets up. If he washes up quickly, he can still catch up and have breakfast with Yin Jiu. If he is slow, Yin Jiu will have already finished eating and is ready to go out.

Yin Jiu has classes at 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday. It takes at least 20 minutes to get from home to school even if there is no traffic jam, so he will leave home before 7:15.

Ning Changyue did not stay in bed today and got up at seven o'clock. When Yin Jiu came out of the shower, he was already sitting at the dining table waiting for him.

Touching his hair, Yin Jiu said, "Next time when you get up, you can eat first."

Ning Changyue shook her head and said, "Wait for you."

Yin Jiu smiled, said no more, and went to the kitchen to pour two glasses of orange juice.

Today's breakfast is hand-steamed meatballs and corn cakes, which are just right for digestion with juice.

While eating, Yin Jiu said, "It's a little cold today, don't wear my clothes from the day before yesterday when you go out. I've put them at the end of your bed. If you don't wear them and catch a cold, don't blame me for punishing you."

The threatening words had no effect. Ning Changyue's eyes flickered and it was obvious that he didn't hear anything.

Yin Jiu tapped the table with his fingers and said in a more serious tone, "Did you hear me? Speak."

"I understand." Ning Changyue replied slowly.

Yin Jiu always ate faster. After finishing his portion, he rinsed his mouth with mouthwash to get rid of the taste in his mouth, put his backpack on his shoulder, and before changing his shoes, Yin Jiu asked again, "Do you want to go out with me?"

Ning Changyue shook her head firmly.

He refused, and Yin Jiu did not force him and went to attend his morning class.

After Yin Jiu left, the house became quiet.

Ning Changyue was chewing the meatballs in his mouth and suddenly felt that the tender and juicy meatballs were not so delicious. He slowly finished the remaining breakfast, and following Yin Jiu's habit, he took a sip of Yin Jiu's mouthwash to wash away the taste of food in his mouth.

He walked around the house twice aimlessly, looked at the fish, and then looked into the distance for a while from the French window.

This is home, but if Yin Jiu is not here, this is just a habitat. Only when Yin Jiu is here is it home.

But Yin Jiu would not be home until nightfall, so Ning Changyue stayed there for a while before changing her clothes and getting ready to go out.

He first looked around in the closet, but was disappointed to find that the clothes Yin Jiu wore the day before were not in the closet. He then reluctantly went to the end of the bed to get the clothes that were placed there.

Then I was surprised to find that it was a thin blue and white striped wool sweater, exactly the same as the one Yin Jiu was wearing today.

Without hesitation, Ning Changyue put on the sweater.

When he went out, Ning Changyue was a little excited and a little proud, because Yin Jiu definitely didn't expect him to go out so early, and he definitely thought he would stay at home.

Out of rebellious psychology, Ning Changyue maintained her good mood for a long time.

Then he began to wander aimlessly on the street.

There were people arguing on the side of the road. He stood not far away and listened for a while, but didn't quite understand. Until the other party gave him a wary look, he looked around as if nothing had happened and then left.

Passing by a cake shop, there were many people inside. He looked through the glass and found that they were having a special promotion, so he left without interest.

He walked and stopped along the way, seeing all kinds of people, and whenever he came across something that interested him, he would stop for a while.

When we walked to the door of a cold drink shop, a child was acting coquettishly and asked for ice cream, but his mother didn't let him, so the child cried outside the shop. However, the mother was completely unmoved and even took out her mobile phone to watch videos.

The child cried very sadly. Ning Changyue stood a few steps away and watched him cry with an expressionless face.

He did not feel sorry for the child, but found him interesting.

Human babies were nasty creatures, and he loved to see them cry.

He watched quietly, but for some reason the kid got distracted and, after catching sight of him, he suddenly rushed over and kicked him.

Ning Changyue jumped back to avoid it, feeling very confused.

The child's mother saw it, and quickly came over to hold the child, apologetically saying: "I'm sorry, he might think you were laughing at him."

As she said this, there was a hint of condemnation in the woman's eyes.

Ning Changyue didn't understand, but fearing being kicked again, she had no choice but to leave.

After all, he couldn't fight. He had fought with his classmates before and was scolded by his aunt for several days. Although he felt he was right, his classmates threw things at him, so why couldn't he fight back?

In the past, he would have to fight every time he saw him.

But... things are different now, he has to follow the rules.

When she gets tired of walking, Ning Changyue will find a bus with a seat, no matter where the destination is, just to kill time.

This was also what he did most often in the past, but at that time, he always held an expectation that if he went to enough places and walked far enough, he would eventually meet the person he wanted to meet.

So instead of looking at the scenery, he was more searching among the crowd. ≡

Now it has become a habit, he still pays attention to everyone he meets, but not to confirm anything, just out of pure curiosity.

But most of the time, he couldn't quite understand what these people did and said, what they meant and what their significance was.

When the bus arrived at a certain stop, a lot of people suddenly started to get on. Ning Changyue didn't like crowds and got off the bus quickly.

This stop was a neighborhood park, and Ning Changyue strolled around the park.

There were people painting in the park. Ning Changyue walked over, remembering that Yin Jiu had asked him last time whether he liked painting.

After looking at it for a long time, looking at the gorgeous flowers as a reference, and then looking at the abstract painting on the drawing paper, I finally came to a conclusion - the painting is so ugly and painting is so boring.

Then leave disappointed.

In fact, regarding liking something, Ning Changyue had never thought about it before. He only knew that there were many things he didn't like.

Yin Jiu said that he had to find something interesting to pass the time, otherwise life would become very difficult.

But Ning Changyue didn't feel that life was difficult. Maybe it was like that in the past, but not now.

He now just feels that as long as he can stay with Yin Jiu and Yin Jiu can hug him and kiss him more, these days will be the best days.

But Ning Changyue would never tell Yin Jiu.

While strolling, Ning Changyue would check Yin Jiu's location from time to time, and saw the messages sent by Yin Jiu, but he rarely replied, and his replies were only two or three short words.

He preferred to hear Yin Jiu speak in person rather than reading his words.

If she was hungry, Ning Changyue would eat the bread in the backpack, which was put there by Yin Jiu last night. There was not only bread, but also water and biscuit snacks.

Ning Changyue's eating habits are actually not very regular. She only thinks of eating when she feels hungry.

After strolling around for a while, Ning Changyue started to use the navigation to check the route.

Normally, Yin Jiu would have classes until five or six o'clock, but this afternoon Yin Jiu only had one class, so Ning Changyue needed to go there early.

Today, Yin Jiu's location was not at the usual place. Ning Changyue looked for him and came to an artificial lake.

Yin Jiu was sitting on a stone bench by the lake, chatting with someone with a smile on his face.

Not far from them, on another stone bench, sat a couple, leaning close together.

Ning Changyue looked at Yin Jiu, then at the couple. He should have gone over, but at this moment, for some reason, he hesitated.
