"It's so late. I'm old, so I go to bed early." Baru replied casually.
"Impossible! He heard I was being hunted and was very anxious. He must be terribly worried right now. How could he possibly be sleeping?"
"That means you feel relieved knowing that I rushed over to save you."
The man lazily chatted while driving, "My father-in-law has eyes even from eight hundred miles away. I went out to do some private work today, and he ruined it. I'm really impressed."
"What kind of private work have you been doing?" Nanxi looked at him warily, "Didn't I tell you to behave yourself?"
"It's a good deal if you don't make some money." Baru chuckled. "It's not a big deal. I heard that one of Sakun's men is short of money and wants to sell some arms. I happen to have a connection, so I thought of having someone take them for a low price, transport them to Daqili, and sell them when the price is right. This way I can save some money for my kid's milk powder and get some evidence so I can put that grandson on trial later."
He raised his eyebrows and shook his head, "Who would have thought that my father-in-law's people would intercept it."
Nanxi's brow furrowed even deeper. "Why would my father buy arms?"
"How would I know? Anyway, I didn't make a move since I saw he was from the Nan family. We are all family. No matter who puts the money in their pocket, it belongs to our son."
"You're making a really good calculation." Nanxi rolled her eyes at him, "How do you know it's from the Nan family?"
"I've seen him. It's the guy called Li Hao. Doesn't he always follow your dad?"
"Li Hao? Uncle Li's son? He went to negotiate for arms?" Nanxi was a little confused. Hasn't Li Hao always been Dad's personal secretary? He has always been a transparent person, silent and honest. How could he have the courage to touch arms?
