Chapter 3 is about biological children.

When Yu Yin woke up again and sorted through Yu Yin's memories, she understood that from now on there was no longer a Yu Yin; she could only be Yu Yin.

Fortunately, Lu Shurui was taking care of the child in another room yesterday. She took the opportunity to enter the space, drank the spiritual spring water, and used a basin to wash the torn wound in her lower body. Generally speaking, spiritual springs have these effects; it's just a matter of how obvious the effect is—it won't heal or damage the wound.

Whether it was psychological or real, Yu Yin felt much better than yesterday. She had more energy, her mind was clearer, and even her lower body didn't hurt as much.

"You're awake. Are you hungry?"

"Not hungry yet? Where's the baby? How's he? Can you bring him over now?"

I'm completely sober now. I need to take good care of that child and fulfill my promise.

"You can bring him over after the doctor finishes the examination. Don't worry, the baby is much better."

"Okay, can you wash my hands with a towel? I want to dry my face, it feels really dry."

Yu Yin had made up her mind. Now that she had taken over her life, she would try to make it better. She would raise the child well and had no plans to change men now. The child needed a father, so she would make changes little by little and see if she could keep the person who wanted to leave.

When living at home, everyone should feel involved, know their responsibilities, and feel needed. They shouldn't be left out.

Returning to the ward with the washed towel, Lu Shurui was a little at a loss, unsure whether to hand the towel to her or simply wipe her face for her. Although they had both had children, they weren't really close and had barely exchanged a few words; it was truly awkward.

"Give it to me, I'm strong enough to wipe it myself."

Seeing the awkward man, Yu Yin didn't make things difficult for him. Rome wasn't built in a day; take it slow.

After washing and rinsing my mouth, I feel much better and refreshed.

After breakfast, the doctor checked me over and said I was recovering well. He said I could be discharged after two more days of observation, and there was nothing else to worry about.

"I have to say, I'm really lucky. I even stopped breathing for a moment, but I recovered so quickly. It's a miracle!"

"Absolutely! It was terrifying! So much blood! I never imagined I'd survive!"

Yu Yin didn't hear the nurses' chatter; her attention was now focused on the two children, if they could even be called children.

Looking at the two tiny figures lying side by side on the bed, they were so thin and frail. Their rosy little faces were wrinkled and devoid of any flesh, like skin wrapped around bones. Their eyebrows were so faint they were practically nonexistent, and their tightly closed eyes made it impossible to tell whether they had single or double eyelids. In short, they looked more like monkeys than children.

Yu Yin looked up at Lu Shurui. He was over 1.8 meters tall, not particularly muscular, but still very upright. He didn't have the currently popular square face, but he had big, double-lidded eyes, lips that were neither too thin nor too thick and had a touch of sexiness, and a moderately sized nose—not high-bridged, but not flat either. He didn't have any particularly outstanding features, but together they gave him a comfortable appearance. A 90 out of 100.

Yu Yin didn't know what she looked like, but looking at the two red monkeys, she felt a little insecure. What kind of grandmother would she have to look like to give birth to such children!

"Is there a mirror?"

"What?"

"A mirror, a mirror that reflects people."

"Oh, no, do you need one? I'll go to the nurse's to borrow one for you, just a moment."

Yu Yin seemed a little different when she woke up; she was much more talkative.

"for you."

Holding a small, vintage mirror, I could barely see my face clearly. To be honest, it was a normal face, with delicate features; not a stunning beauty, but still a pretty girl. There was no way I could have given birth to those two monkeys.

"Lu Shurui, are you sure the baby wasn't switched at birth?"

Yu Yin's voice was a little urgent and a little loud.

"What do you mean by 'switched babies'? What nonsense are you spouting now?"

As soon as Yu's mother entered the door, she heard something about whether the babies had been switched at birth or not.

"When Auntie arrived, Yu Yin asked if the baby had been mistakenly held."

"You were the only one giving birth yesterday, how could the babies be switched? What have you been thinking about all day? You either stay silent or you finally say something and then you say all sorts of nonsense..."

Yu's mother spoke in a rapid-fire manner, not giving anyone a chance to speak.

Only when she finally stopped did Yu Yin have a chance to speak.

"Look, these two kids look like two red monkeys, they don't look like us at all. How can I not be suspicious?"

"You don't know anything. The babies were premature and had a difficult delivery, and they were twins, so they were already thin. Besides, all newborns are like this. They'll change after a few days. You're so easily startled. You're really good at making trouble."

I got another scolding, then they gave me some instructions and left.

Inside the room, Yu Yin and Lu Shurui looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

"Well, well, I really didn't know newborn babies looked like this. The babies I've seen are usually quite chubby and fair-skinned, and you can already make out their features. But look at these two kids, they don't look like you or me at all. How can I not be suspicious?"

Yu Yin was also wronged. Which child born in later generations wasn't fair-skinned and chubby, with rosy cheeks, like an angel?

"Yes, the child suffered a lot. It's not easy for him to survive. The doctor said it's a miracle."

"That's right. We should take good care of them from now on and make sure they're healthy. You can tell whose child it is just by looking at them. What do you think, father?"

With a jolt, Lu Shurui felt his brain buzzing. The words "father of the children" made him truly realize that he was now a father, had two children, and needed to take responsibility for them.
