Chapter 275 Ambush Through a Clever Plan (1/2)

Chapter 275 Ambush with a Plan Su Tang turned the walkie-talkie volume down to the lowest setting and brought it to her ear.

Gao Kai and Liu Landi also nervously came over.

A lowered but still arrogant voice came through the faint static:

Yuan Bao: "...Reconnaissance squad, note, repeat the order. In fifteen minutes, conduct fire reconnaissance on the outer perimeter of Area A of Battalion 3, take out their forward outposts, and probe their defensive depth!"

"...Damn it, these cowards from Battalion Three, are they really going to cower like turtles?" A crude voice came intermittently from the walkie-talkie, "Brother Leopard, I think we should just call the main force to charge over there, why waste time with these useless cowards?"

"What's the rush?" another voice rang out, the same one called "Brother Wolf" from before, his calm demeanor tinged with ruthlessness. "Listen to me, let's wait until dark before we make our move, and settle things in one battle. Now, send a group over to find out what they're up to. See how well their shabby fortifications are built, how many men they have, and where their firing positions are."

"Sizzle..."

There was no sound from the other end of the walkie-talkie. Su Tang nodded; this information was sufficient.

She turned off the walkie-talkie, raised her wrist to look at her watch, and murmured to herself, "Fifteen minutes..." as if she were calculating something.

Firepower reconnaissance!

Judging from this, the Second Battalion did not take the bait completely because Wolf Brother was very cautious. Not only did he not let his guard down completely because of the Third Battalion's defensive decoy, he also persuaded Yuan Bao to send a reconnaissance team to launch a probing attack first.

Monkeys? A reconnaissance team? Scouting?

She was originally thinking about how to weaken the enemy's fighting force without alerting their main force.

Now that the other side has proactively offered up this "appetizer" of reconnaissance soldiers, it's a perfect opportunity.

If we don't eat it, we'd be doing a disservice to their "enthusiasm".

Gao Kai felt a sudden chill run down his spine as he watched the fleeting smile on Su Tang's face. He knew that whenever Teacher Su showed that expression, it meant someone was about to be in big trouble.

"Teacher Su, are they sending someone over?" Gao Kai asked in a low voice.

"Hmm, a reconnaissance squad." Su Tang turned off the walkie-talkie, stood up, and patted the dirt off his pants.

"Then...then what about us?" Gao Kai asked Su Tang.

“Let’s change the plan temporarily. We’ll wipe out this reconnaissance team first. It will be very useful for my next plan.” Su Tang didn’t explain further, but instead unfolded the somewhat creased military map and slowly ran her finger across it.

Gao Kai and Liu Landi went closer and saw that Su Tang's finger finally stopped at a place about one kilometer northwest of their current location.

It was an area marked on the map as "dense bushes" and "shallow puddle," with slightly raised earthen slopes on both sides, forming a natural pocket-shaped terrain.

“This place,” Su Tang’s voice was soft, but carried an undeniable force, “is the only way they could get here.”

Gao Kai followed her finger, quickly sketching out the terrain in his mind. As a policeman, he had studied pursuit and ambush tactics, and he understood the situation immediately upon seeing the terrain.

This is a perfect ambush zone!

The open area is narrow, and once you enter, the earthen slopes on both sides will create crossfire, making those who enter like fish caught in a pocket with nowhere to escape.

"Teacher Su, do you mean...we should ambush them here?" Gao Kai's voice trembled slightly with excitement.

“That’s right.” Su Tang nodded.

Su Tang raised her head, her gaze sweeping over Gao Kai, Liu Landi, and the other members of the surprise attack team who were also watching this side nervously not far away.

She quickly divided the remaining twenty-six people in the team into three groups.

"Gao Kai, you take eight men and ambush them on the left-hand slope, at this position." She pointed sharply on the map with the tip of her dagger. "Your mission isn't to open fire, it's to block them. I want you to use firepower to cut off all their escape routes! Make them run in only one direction!"

"Yes!" Gao Kai straightened up and answered loudly.
