☆ Dispute
Gu Li came out of the restroom and was startled when someone gently patted her shoulder from behind. She turned around with a start and saw Chu Yaofeng. Her breath caught in her throat, and her face was deathly pale.
"Where did you go?" Chu Yaofeng's face darkened when he saw her looking guilty.
"You...you want to see me about something?" Gu Li swallowed nervously. Before she was sure he had discovered something suspicious, she couldn't panic and had to remain calm.
"I asked you where you went, were you with Gu Ziqian?" Chu Yaofeng asked through gritted teeth.
Gu Li didn't notice the raging anger emanating from his eyes, and said with a smug look, "Yes, I'm with President Gu, what's it to you?"
After saying that, she turned around, walking forward while exhaling and patting her heart, which was pounding wildly from being startled by him. In her heart, she prayed to God that he had not noticed Chengcheng's presence.
Upon hearing this, Chu Yaofeng felt as if he had been struck by a blow he had asked for. The pain was so intense that his chest felt tight. How could she completely disregard him and secretly meet with another man right in front of him? His anger flared up.
He took two big steps forward, grabbed her arm tightly, his pupils contracted as he stared at her, and said impatiently, "Everyone here knows you are my woman, Chu Yaofeng's woman, yet you've been having an affair with another man behind my back. Tell me, what does this have to do with me?"
Gu Li felt a sharp pain in her arm, as if it had been dislocated. She tried to shake his hand, but couldn't. Her stubbornness flared up, and she said coldly, "I never admitted to having any relationship with you. You're the one talking nonsense. How dare you blame me? Chu Yaofeng, can you be fair? Officially, you're my boss. You can make things difficult for me however you want at work. But personally, we have absolutely no relationship. It's my freedom to meet with whomever I want. You have no right to interfere, much less to criticize me. Let go."
Every word she said made sense; he was the one being unreasonable. So even with Chu Yaofeng's silver tongue, he couldn't come up with any sophistry for a moment. But he was unwilling to give up and said defiantly, "I won't let go."
"Let go."
"I won't let go."
"Let go!" Gu Li gritted her teeth, so angry she wanted to punch him.
Chu Yaofeng was also angry, but seeing her face gradually turn red, eventually becoming as charming as a blooming rose, he unexpectedly laughed out, "Heh."
"What are you laughing at?" They were arguing; couldn't he be serious for once? She was completely baffled.
"You are so beautiful." He spoke softly, his gaze gentle.
Gu Li was genuinely taken aback. The anger in her eyes subsided, and even her ears turned red. Since changing her face, countless men had praised her beauty, but she had never paid any attention to them. Only this time, Chu Yaofeng's praise made her somewhat unable to control her heart.
Just as she was feeling annoyed, he suddenly burst into laughter, a nasty laugh that sounded particularly grating.
Damn it, she's been tricked by him again!
"You're nothing special either," Chu Yaofeng said disdainfully. "Women are all the same, fickle and promiscuous, none of them are sincere."
Gu Li was slightly taken aback. She clearly saw a sting in his eyes. She parted her cherry lips slightly, but suddenly didn't know what to say.
Chu Yaofeng released her, and Gu Li was finally free, but she didn't feel any relief at all. She watched him walk away from her indifferently, his aloof and handsome face like that of two strangers brushing past each other in a vast sea of people. The distance between them suddenly became insurmountable.
Isn't this exactly what she wanted? Why does she feel a little disappointed?
