Chapter 13 Alliance

Li Molin pondered for a moment and said, "To be honest, senior, I came to the Central Plains many days ago and have already visited the Flood Dragon Palace in the East Sea, the Qilin City in Yangzhou, and the Phoenix Perching Wutong Forest in Yuzhou. The Flood Dragon Clan, the Qilin Clan, the Phoenix Clan, and your Nine-Tailed Fox Clan are the only four remaining ancient divine beast clans. I have already persuaded the other three clans to ally with my Demon Clan. I wonder if senior would be interested in forming an alliance with us, occupying the Central Plains, and becoming the ruler of the Central Plains?"

The six-tailed white fox lowered its eyes and remained silent.

Looking at the expression on her face, Li Molin continued, "In ancient times, many divine beast races lived together with humans in the Central Plains. Originally, humans were the weakest, but later, their ancestors found a cultivation method, drawing spiritual energy from heaven and earth into their bodies. As they cultivated, their power gradually increased. So they began their shameless acts of excluding those who were different. First, they drove our demon race out of the Central Plains. After that, they captured divine beasts on a large scale to use as mounts. The dragon race could not bear the humiliation and used all their strength to fight against them. Some dragons who were unfortunately captured were unwilling to be used as mounts even if they burned their souls. Later, they were wiped out by humans and their race was exterminated!"

"Xuanwu, Tengshe, Baize, Zhuque, Baihu... which of the divine beast races wasn't wiped out by the human race? Even your four remaining lineages have fled to the wilderness, struggling to survive in remote places, in order to recuperate."

"Senior, we have endured this humiliation for far too many years. Only by forming an alliance and driving the human race out of the Central Plains can we finally quell this hatred!"

"Humans?" A hint of mockery flashed in the six-tailed white fox's eyes as it raised its gaze and said calmly, "Aren't you demons, in the end, also human?"

Li Molin was speechless for a moment. He coughed lightly and said, "We are different from the Central Plains people. We were driven out of the Central Plains by them and struggle to survive in the bitter cold north. We have a blood feud with the Central Plains people!"

The six-tailed white fox shook its head and said calmly, "I'm sorry, my nine-tailed fox clan has lived here for many years and has become accustomed to a peaceful and stable life. We have no intention of setting foot in the Central Plains. You should all return."

Li Molin smiled faintly and said leisurely, "Senior, as a spirit fox, you are naturally intelligent. How could you not know that the reason you can live in this secluded corner is because the human race has not discovered your whereabouts? If one day the human race discovers you, do you still have such a peaceful life?"

The six-tailed white fox smiled faintly and said, "There is a dense forest in front of this place, with countless ferocious beasts, so humans cannot enter. Behind it are continuous mountains, completely devoid of human traces. How could we have been discovered?"

The fox clan is naturally intelligent, and compared to the other three divine beast races, they are even more difficult to persuade. Moreover, this six-tailed white fox seems to harbor deep suspicion towards the demon clan. Li Molin knew that it was probably impossible to form an alliance today. Perhaps...

He considered for a moment, looked up at the sky, and said in a deep voice, "Very well, it's late today. I dare not disturb your rest. We shall take our leave now and discuss this with you again tomorrow. Let's go!"

A dozen or so men in black responded in unison, "Yes!"

The six-tailed white fox turned to look at Liuli and said, "Liuli, send these people out, and remember to keep them at least ten miles away from Fox Plains before they stop to rest."

Li Molin's expression turned cold, and he asked in a chilling voice, "What do you mean by this, senior?"

The six-tailed white fox glanced at him, gave a mocking smile, and turned away, saying as she walked, "You demons must have been harming humans along the way, and you must have had quite a few so-called righteous people following you behind, right?"

"If you insist on not leaving, I will not drive you away, but don't try anything you shouldn't do, understand?"

Li Molin's heart sank. This nine-tailed fox lineage was far too clever. He had originally planned to find a place to rest near Fox Plains, luring those so-called righteous people to discover Fox Plains. Then the fox clan would never have peace again, and even if they didn't want to, they would have no choice but to ally with the demons. But this six-tailed white fox had seen through his thoughts at a glance.

He thought again and realized he could only try to persuade her again tomorrow.

While he was still pondering, Liuli had already spoken up to shoo them away, saying without any politeness, "Alright, alright, you should all leave now!"

Li Molin glanced at Liuli silently, then turned and said loudly, "Alright, let's go!"

After a dozen men in black followed Li Molin, Liuli hummed a song and followed them into the woods. The woods were dark, but fortunately, they were all able to see in the dark, so the journey wasn't too difficult.
