Chapter 27 Prosperity

After traveling for half an hour, Liuli, Li Molin, and the others flew over many villages, towns, and cities, finally stopping outside the largest city in Yuanzhou. The light rain had stopped, but the sky was still overcast.

The city before us is called Hancheng, covering an area of about three hundred li in circumference. It is the most prosperous city in Yuanzhou.

Liuli stood on a path in the farmland outside the city, gazing at the tall and majestic city walls of Hancheng in the distance. After a while, she turned to Li Molin and said impatiently, "What are we doing stopping here? Let's get into the city!"

Li Molin was whispering something with a dozen men in black. When he seemed to have finished speaking, the men in black scattered in pairs and flew into the air in all directions.

Only a burly man and a frail-looking man remained by Li Molin's side. Liu Li looked up and asked curiously, "Where did they go?"

Li Molin turned to look at the frail-looking man and said in a low voice, "Yu Ke, go to the city and find a few sets of human clothes."

"Yes." Yu Ke nodded in response, then transformed into a faint black light and flew towards the city.

Liu Li ignored her and repeated, "Li Molin, I'm asking you a question. Why did they all leave?"

Li Molin looked at her, a hint of a smile in his eyes, and shook his head, saying, "Why should I tell you?"

Liuli, enraged, stomped her foot and cursed, "You bastard, are you ever going to stop?"

Li Molin's smile deepened. He casually put his hands behind his back and asked indifferently, "Then tell me what good things your grandmother gave you, and I'll tell you why my men left."

"Tch!" Liuli tilted her chin up and looked away, saying disdainfully, "What your men are doing is none of my business. I don't care!"

Li Molin smiled faintly, shook his head, and fell silent.

The three of them were standing in the middle of the farmland. Through the swaying corn stalks, Liuli could see the carriages that hurriedly passed by on the road in the distance. She ignored Li Molin and stood on tiptoe to look over curiously.

About 15 minutes later, Yu Ke flew back carrying a bag of clothes.

Li Molin took a set of human women's clothes from him and handed them to Liuli, saying indifferently, "Here you go, change into these."

Liuli looked at the clothes with disgust and shook her head, saying, "I'm not wearing them!"

"Oh." Li Molin slowly withdrew his hand, sighed softly, and shook his head, saying, "If you don't wear it, you can only wait here... But it doesn't matter, we should be out in three to five days."

He stared at Liuli's face, and seeing her indifference, he added casually, "Don't even think about running away. If I can't find you after leaving the city, I'll have to go to Fox Plains."

Liuli rolled her eyes a few times, then angrily took the clothes from his hand and said, "I'll wear them, you bastard!"

She glared at Li Molin, then turned and walked into the cornfield. Hidden beneath the corn stalks, a thick layer of white spiritual energy enveloped her, and in a flash of white light, her clothes vanished without a trace. However, when she unfolded the human woman's clothes, she was stumped. The garment had many buttons and several layers; she had no idea which to wear first or how to put it on.

Li Molin and the other two quickly changed their clothes. Li Molin wore a dark blue brocade robe, while Yu Ke and the burly man wore the same style of blue close-fitting clothes. The three of them standing together looked like a noble young master and two guards, except that the two guards looked completely different.

The three of them changed their clothes and waited for a long time, but Liuli did not come out. Li Molin was a little puzzled and asked in a loud voice, "Liuli, why are you so slow?"

After a long silence, Li Molin frowned and called out again, "Liuli girl!"

"I..." Liuli's voice drifted over, completely different from usual, tinged with shyness, as she softly said, "I don't know how to wear it..."

Li Molin and the other two exchanged a glance and burst into laughter.

Liuli was squatting in the white light, looking helplessly at the pile of clothes in front of her. Hearing the laughter, she became angry and embarrassed, and said angrily, "I'm not wearing them!"

Just as she was about to use her spiritual power to conjure a set of clothes, she heard Li Molin's amused voice come in, saying, "Throw out the clothes, let me see."

"Hmph!" Liuli snorted coldly and threw her clothes out of the white light without any politeness.
