Chapter 71 Recovering from Injuries

Chapter 71 Recovering from Injuries

"don't want!!"

I woke up from my dream in a cold sweat.

I sat up and thought about my absurd dream, and it felt kind of funny.

Once I regained consciousness, the first thing I did was check the big dog's wounds.

Without the puppy and melon causing trouble, the gauze stayed in good condition.

When I lifted the gauze and saw that the wound was relatively dry, I felt relieved.

If it's just a superficial injury, it will heal quickly with daily medication.

The big dog was on the verge of death yesterday, mainly because it hadn't eaten or drunk anything for too long.

I hurried to the kitchen to start cooking for the dogs.

My dog hasn't been eating well lately, so I'm going to make some nice treats for him.

Put two large chicken drumsticks, bones and all, into a blender and blend until smooth.

Crack in three raw eggs, then add two bowls of cornmeal, a handful of dog food, and some milk powder.

Chop up a head of lettuce and put it in.

After mixing well, shape the batter into small buns and steam them.

A big pot of steamed cornbread was made.

Set aside one-third of the steamed buns, and store the rest in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.

First, we went to the basement. There was a small steamed bun for each of the four puppies, and half a bun for each of them.

The dogs chewed with great gusto, clearly enjoying it immensely. They held the steamed buns in their paws and lay on the ground, nibbling away bit by bit.

The combination of plenty of chicken thigh meat and cornmeal should be appealing to dogs.

Only I could make such incredibly tempting steamed buns.

Satisfied, I returned to the ground, broke the steamed bun into small pieces, and fed them to the big dog little by little.

The big dog seemed to have never eaten before; after taking a bite, its eyes sparkled.

I fed it two steamed buns in a row, but it still didn't seem full. I was afraid it would overeat, so I didn't dare to feed it anymore.

So he scooped up a bowl of water and gave it to the big dog to drink.

When I drank the water, I mixed in the medicine that the vet had given me when I was injured.

I hope it gets better soon.

At this moment, the little melon was howling in the basement, clearly not having had enough to eat and protesting.

There were just two steamed buns left outside, and Xiaodi and Xiaogua each got one.

Then I made milk powder for the two puppies, and they fought over it to finish the whole bowl.

After cuddling the puppy with the big dog for a while, the big dog put it back into the cardboard box, and the big dog didn't seem to mind.

But suddenly it slowly got up, scratched at the door with its paws, and tried to go out.

"Why are you going out? It's very hot outside, you need to rest and recover."

I didn't know what it wanted to do, so I could only comfort it with words it couldn't understand.

But the big dog insisted on going out, so I had no choice but to open the door and let it in.

Now the big dog can use a little strength in its hind legs. With its front legs supporting it, it slowly takes steps while its hind legs tremble.

When the big dog passed by the chicken coop, the chickens inside seemed to freeze, huddled together, and dared not move.

I reckon the chickens were scared because the dog was big and had never been in the house before.

The big dog didn't pay much attention to the chickens and continued to walk slowly and laboriously outside.

It was very hot outside, but it insisted on going out. I was a little worried, but I had no choice but to follow.

I opened a parasol and followed behind.

It walked very slowly, taking about 10 minutes to reach the gate of the yard.

Once outside the courtyard wall, it stood there motionless.

I watched it for a long time but it still didn't move, so I went over to check on it.

"What's wrong with you? What do you want?"

The big dog didn't speak, and kept its head down, refusing to look at me.

"Tell me, what do you want to do? Tell me and I can help you."

Seeing that he didn't react, I became even more anxious.

"Clatter"

Just then, a piece of poop fell down from the big dog's rear end.

Well……

I was embarrassed, and the big dog looked a little embarrassed too.

Oh, so he came out to poop...

Ugh, you should have said so earlier...

I silently retreated and went into the courtyard to avoid them.

You know what, this dog is really well-behaved.

I've only been here a day, and I already know I can't poop on my turf.

She has such a good sense of propriety. I wish my little one could have such a good sense of propriety too.

Just then, the big dog finished its business and slowly walked back.

I was afraid it would aggravate the wound, so I went over and touched its head first.

Seeing that the big dog didn't resist, I tried to avoid the wound and picked it up, taking it back to the dark room.

After being placed on the cotton pad, the big dog seemed very tired, closed its eyes, dozed off for a while, and then fell asleep.

I thought I should make it a bigger doghouse, so I took my needle and thread and went to the basement.

It took a long time for them to come down. When Little Earth and Little Melon saw me, they quickly wagged their tails and rubbed against my legs.

Afraid that these two guys would think I liked big dogs and not them, I picked them up and kissed them one by one.

Perhaps I went a bit too far, kissing Xiaodi and Xiaogua so much that their ears turned into airplane ears.

I picked out a suitable piece of cotton cloth, padded it with cotton, and started sewing.

After sewing the four sides, several rows of stitches were sewn in the middle to prevent the cotton from slipping out.

After I finished sewing, my stomach started rumbling, and I realized I hadn't eaten yet.

So, braving the high temperature, he went out of the dark room again and cooked himself a bowl of noodles.

Mix it with bibimbap sauce and eat it with fragrant pickled vegetables for another meal.

After eating and drinking to their hearts' content, they directly used the noodle soup to soak the chicken feed.

The chicks are growing so fast; they've already become medium-sized chicks.

We have a lot of chickens at home now, a total of 22.

Seeing that the chicken coop was a bit crowded, and with the high temperature, I was worried that the chickens might suffer from heatstroke, so I planned to put up another coop for them tonight.

I've been busy since I woke up from my afternoon nap. The temperature outside hasn't completely dropped yet, so I'm going to take a nap.

I went back to the dark room and slept soundly on the kang (heated brick bed). I woke up again around 8 p.m.

Full of energy, I'm getting back to work.

First, take out the cornbread and feed it to the dog, then go out and build the chicken coop.

The shady side of the breeding room was also fenced off with wire mesh.

Then put the newly grown chicks on that side, so they won't get too hot when separated.

Now, when you enter the small west hut from the outside and pass through the breeding shed, both sides are fenced off with wire mesh, forming a passageway in the middle.

After setting it up, I went to the basement to bring out all the dogs. Although the basement was cool, I was always worried that it might be bad for their health.

Take them out and run around in the living room and yard to warm them up and dispel the chill.

I closed the door while the four puppies were crawling around in the east room.

I took Xiaodi and Xiaogua to the field to water them.

The crops and vegetables in the fields are growing well, seemingly unaffected by the weather.

Perhaps the vegetables could tolerate this temperature, and since I drank plenty of water, I wasn't greatly affected.

After watering the dog and returning home, I applied medicine to the dog's leg again.

The previous powder has been mostly absorbed and worn off. Use a cotton swab dipped in iodine to gently wipe the wound, and then apply the new medicine.

The wound is now relatively stable, so we stopped putting on gauze.

After everything was finished, it was almost dawn, and sleepiness came over me, so I drifted off to sleep sweetly.
