The young man in the cotton hat still gets chills when he thinks about the scene of Ah Jun suddenly killing people last night.
Although it was his idea, he really didn't expect that Ah Jun would actually kill his mentally unstable older brother for a tattered cotton-padded coat.
Seeing the cowardly look on the young man in the cotton hat, A-Jun put away the kitchen knife and gave him a cold glance.
He then looked at the crackling firewood in the fire, the flickering firelight illuminating his gloomy face, and it was impossible to tell what he was thinking.
The young man in the cotton hat wanted to remind the other person that they should exchange clothes, but the experience just now was still vivid in his mind, so he dared not speak easily. He could only silently endure the cold and try to use the flame in front of him to dispel the chill.
Suddenly, the sound of an engine could be heard faintly.
Upon hearing the sound, Ah Jun suddenly raised his head, a glint of light flashing in his eyes.
The young man in the cotton hat did the same. Without hesitation, he grabbed a wooden stick, looked at Ah Jun, and said excitedly, "Brother Jun, someone is coming this way! This is our chance!"
"Nonsense, hurry up and go stop a car!" Ah Jun said coldly.
The young man in the cotton hat was taken aback. It must be dozens of degrees below zero outside, and he was only wearing a thin jacket. He was being asked to go out and flag down a car? Had he heard correctly?
"But...but it's too cold outside, I'll freeze to death..." the young man in the cotton hat hesitated.
"Cold? Do you even have the right to say you're cold now?" Ah Jun glared at him. "If we can't find a way to get around soon, we'll both freeze to death here!"
Upon hearing this, the young man in the cotton hat gasped for breath, quickly stood up, and walked shakily toward the door.
He opened the door, and a biting wind howled in, making him shiver. He took a deep breath and mustered his courage to step out of the house.
Ah Jun also staggered to his feet, gripped the kitchen knife in his hand, and leaned against the doorway.
The sound of the engine grew closer, and the young man in the cotton hat stood by the roadside, waving frantically.
Finally, they saw it: on the thick snowfield, a car was speeding along as if it were flat ground.
"Stand in the middle of the road! We must stop him. With this good stuff, we'll be able to travel freely through this freezing weather. Our chance to make a fortune has arrived!" Ah Jun shouted, his eyes gleaming with insane greed.
The young man in the cotton hat was taken aback when he heard this. He immediately understood what Ah Jun meant, and then mustered all his courage, walked to the middle of the road with uneven steps, spread his arms, and tried to block the oncoming sleds as much as possible.
