Unaware of what the other person had said, Rong Shi coldly replied:
"Return within three days, and the exercise plan must be ready."
"Um."
Then I hung up the phone.
Turning around, she met Gu Chu's gaze. Caught peeking, Gu Chu buried her head in the blanket in embarrassment.
Rong Shi found a military overcoat and put it on, then leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes to rest.
Suddenly, there was a noise outside the door.
Startled, Rong Shi quickly took off his military overcoat, quietly walked towards the heated kang (a traditional heated brick bed), and gestured for Gu Chu to be quiet.
"Shh!"
Then he gave Gu Chu a look to 'look outside', and Gu Chu immediately understood. She looked in the direction of the door and subconsciously moved her body inward, making a large space on the kang (a heated brick bed) empty.
Rong Shi went to bed and lay down next to her, covering himself with the blanket.
He asked in a low voice, "Will it bark?"
"What?" Gu Chu was completely bewildered.
"Never mind," Rong Shi said helplessly.
"Thump, thump, thump..." He clenched his fist and gently tapped the heated brick bed, each tap rhythmic, only the speed gradually increasing.
Listening to the rhythm, Gu Chu suddenly understood, and her face flushed red with embarrassment: "You...!"
She turned her back, not daring to look at Rong Shi.
With the noise at the door fading, Rong Shi breathed a sigh of relief and got up to return to his seat.
"Who was that at the door just now?" Gu Chu asked.
Rong Shi said, "It could be the housekeeper, or one of the aunties."
After saying that, he walked to the chair: "Go to sleep, I won't bother you anymore."
Gu Chu picked up a pillow and placed it in the middle: "The Chu River and Han Border, don't cross the line!"
Rong Shi instantly understood what she meant. Seeing that the chair was indeed not suitable for resting, he went over and took his military overcoat to use as a pillow and placed it in the middle.
"My aunt took me to buy some clothes and jewelry today. Add me on WeChat and I'll transfer the money to you."
