Chapter 23 Confident

After a lot of hard work writing, your work sold very well, and you became a wealthy and popular author.

You now own your own studio, located in a luxurious office building.

Today, you just returned from the annual meeting organized by the literary website. After getting off the plane, you took a taxi straight to your studio.

In this tastefully decorated office, you sit in front of your Apple computer, jotting down a few new ideas for your novel.

The long journey has left you feeling tired, and you'd like to take a break and listen to some music.

You walk to the office break area, where there is a genuine leather sofa. You sit down comfortably and casually turn on the stereo next to you, and a beautiful melody begins to play.

After sitting for a while, you feel like playing some games. So you stand up, walk to the Xbox in the gaming area, press the power button, and then turn on the 70-inch LCD TV. Have fun!

What? You think the LCD TV screen in the game is too small to see clearly?

No problem, one-click fullscreen mode fills your real-world computer screen, while all the operation keys are mapped to your keyboard.

Feeling a bit tired after playing games for a while? You can pick up the phone on your desk and call your secretary outside to have her pour you a cup of fragrant coffee.

Then, you can stand in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and watch the bustling traffic on the street below.

The football league is now in its most intense phase, and your team is at a crucial moment in the fight for the championship. Today, they face another critical battle.

How could you miss such a match? When you turn on the TV, you find that the game is already in the second half, and your team is down by one goal.

In the heat of the game, your beautiful wife urges you to eat dinner, but you say you'll eat after watching the match.

When your wife gets angry, she ignores you, opens the door, and goes out to chat with the neighbors.

Your neighbor is a beautiful girl, and she proudly tells your wife that her boyfriend is a soccer player and is playing a match right now.

He is the core player of the team you like.

The match is finally over! Your team pulled off a stunning comeback and is now one step closer to the league championship trophy.

When you realized your wife wasn't home, you called her to apologize and beg for forgiveness, and it took a lot of effort to get her to forgive you.

You quickly finished your dinner, and then diligently washed the dishes and wiped the table for your wife.

You couldn't wait to rush into the bedroom and get intimate with her.

But your wife doesn't want to talk to you right now because the finale of "The Voice of China" is on TV.

You finally made it to the end of the show, and it's time for your romantic time with her. Okay, lights out, not suitable for children.

Are you confused?

Han Ming asked Dong Xiaolu on the phone.

"I'm a little confused by what I'm hearing."

Dong Xiaolu gave an honest answer.

"It's basically a virtual world interspersed with the real world."

Han Ming explained.

"You mean, after a player in the real world opens this game, they can choose to access things in the real world from within the game world?"

Dong Xiaolu asked.

"Yes, that's what I mean. Imagine you have a house in the game, fully equipped with all sorts of amenities."

They are all virtual, existing only in games. For example, a washing machine can only wash clothes in the game, not clothes in reality.

However, for devices like radios, televisions, and computers, we design a function that can access relevant content from the real world.

For example, if you want to listen to music while playing a game, you can turn on your speakers and play songs stored on your computer.

You can also search for things from the real-world internet on the computer in the game.

If you want to watch a football match, you can choose a match that is currently taking place in the real world.

Additionally, you can watch player-created football matches within the game world, and the visuals will be rendered exactly like in the real world.

Han Ming gave Dong Xiaolu an explanation that was as easy to understand as possible.

"I understand, it's about increasing the realism in the game, right?"

"Yes, the initial intention was to make the game more realistic, but it's not limited to that. I have some other ideas."

Han Ming said with a hint of smugness.

"Oh? Tell me about it?"

Dong Xiaolu asked curiously.

Han Ming also shared some of his still immature ideas with his girlfriend.

Just now, Han Ming was racking his brains, not knowing how to start designing the new game.

Just then, Dong Xiaolu called to say that she had arrived at her home in the provincial capital and wanted to call Han Ming to let him know she was safe.

Perhaps it was hearing his girlfriend's voice that gave Han Ming a sudden inspiration.

He decided to create a model game similar to The Sims, and then integrate features from other games onto that platform.

Players can choose their own class in the game, and once chosen, it replaces the NPC in the game world.

For example, a player who is proficient in the game "Flight Simulator" and knows how to fly a plane can apply to become a pilot.

If other players in the game were on this plane, you can imagine how realistic it would feel.

This pilot wouldn't dare to mess around like he'd be playing a single-player game.

Players who choose to fly can look out the highly realistic scenery rendered through the cabin windows.

You can also communicate with your seatmate or the flight attendant via voice commands.

As for the fact that some items in the game can display relevant information in the real world after selection, this was not something Han Ming did intentionally.
