Chapter 34 Consider Me a Friend
When Pei Wu woke up, the back of her head felt like it had been hit by a heavy hammer, and she was completely dazed.
He slowly sat up, supporting himself on the bed with one hand, and covered his head with the other. It took him a few minutes to regain consciousness.
yesterday……
On New Year's Eve, Lu Xiwen arrived in the evening... They ate dumplings and drank wine. And then what?
Pei Wu's memory of that period seemed to have been completely erased from her brain; she couldn't recall even the slightest bit of it.
Oh, and this is crucial, the scent he's been obsessed with all along is actually the pheromones Lu Xiwen smelled.
It's a bit absurd, yet it makes perfect sense.
After all, he is still quite rational and shouldn't be so fixated on an industrial product. If it were pheromones, it would make perfect sense.
Pei Wu lowered her head and lifted the blanket, then froze.
He was wearing pajamas; he was so drunk last night that he had no memory of it, yet he had meticulously buttoned up his shirt.
A strange feeling flashed through Pei Wu's mind, but she didn't think much of it. When her foot touched the ground, she reflexively flinched, as if the foot wasn't her own. Why was that? Pei Wu was full of questions; something was very wrong.
But I just don't remember it. I can't very well ask Lu Xiwen, can I?
As Pei Wu opened the bedroom door, she unconsciously slowed her footsteps.
In the old-style residential complex, the master bedroom and guest bedroom are connected. Lu Xiwen said last night that he would stay. Did he really stay?
He couldn't help but grasp the doorknob and then carefully twist it in one direction.
The door was pushed open a crack, and a person could be clearly seen sleeping on the originally tidy bed. A familiar scent wafted over, and Pei Wu quickly closed the door again.
As Pei Wu brushed her teeth, several blurry fragments flashed through her mind.
The fireworks last night seemed to explode very violently; someone covered his ears.
Pei Wu took out a clay pot to cook porridge, making it softer and more flavorful. He had bought it from an old craftsman in a village when he was on a business trip one year. It was still in good condition after two years of use, and he took it with him every time he moved.
The aroma of rice gradually emerged as it was stirred. Pei Wu simply put on a sweater and stood in front of the stove.
My thoughts also took a new turn, following the slowly rotating water ripples.
Yesterday, Lu Xiwen tested him.
Although she didn't say it explicitly, she revealed her pheromones, made close physical contact with him when he picked up the tea canister, drank with him until she was satisfied, and eventually stayed here. This proud genius who was born never to fall into the mortal world, with a sharp tongue whose vision was far superior to others wherever he went, was actually not bored to death by his 50-square-meter rented room.
Did Lu Xi sense the answer he wanted? Pei Wu wondered.
That's perfect, he already had the answer in his heart.
Pei Wu chuckled softly. He had delicate features, and when he lowered his head, he exuded a gentle tenderness that perfectly concealed the keen interest in his eyes.
"So early?" Lu Xiwen appeared behind him without him noticing.
Only Pei Wu could tolerate his unpredictable and elusive nature.
"I'll go get you your toiletries," Pei Wu said.
"I found it," Lu Xi said. "Otherwise, how would I have slept last night?"
Pei Wu was a little curious. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that Lu Xiwen was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt that he had bought years ago and a pair of navy blue thermal underwear that should have been discarded. On Lu Xiwen, it was a "miracle" outfit. However, his face was exceptionally handsome. Without the restraint of neat clothing, he looked a bit dissolute.
"Did I go through your closet because I was angry?" Lu Xiwen asked.
"No," Pei Wu replied calmly. "What kind of side dishes would you like?"
"Your cold shredded potatoes with hot and sour sauce were pretty good."
"good."
Lu Xiwen paused, realizing that the "good" he had just said had a slightly drawn-out ending, carrying a hint of indulgence.
Breakfast was simple and comforting, and by the time I finished eating, the hangover was completely gone.
Lu Xiwen showed no intention of leaving, so Pei Wu pondered where to take him to have some fun. They couldn't stay at home all day, but on the first day of the Lunar New Year, most of the streets were closed.
Lu Xiwen answered Kuang Junmeng's call.
Even across the table, Pei Wu could hear the noisy voices and the wailing coming from the microphone.
"Come out and play!!!"
“The location,” Lu Xiwen said.
Kuang Junmeng gave an address, and Lu Xiwen hung up the phone, looking at Pei Wu: "Want to go together?"
Although it's a question, it basically confirms the nature of the statement.
Pei Wu didn't refuse: "Okay."
Lu Xiwen stood up and said, "Just say what you want to say, don't keep doing this."
He's been so nice to everyone, it's like he's a child.
The two quickly packed up and drove Lu Xiwen's car.
The Bentley's license plate was as easy to recognize as facial recognition, allowing it to enter and exit the upscale club as if it were its own home. The valet quickly took the keys from Lu Xiwen.
Lu Xiwen led Pei Wu upstairs.
He knew the way well and found room 1009.
Before opening the door, Lu Xiwen said to Pei Wu, "Cover your ears and get used to it first."
Pei Wu didn't ask any questions and simply did as instructed.
Sure enough, as soon as the door opened, it was like a scene of werewolves transforming. The howling that shattered the ceiling was completely unrecognizable. Pei Wu's eyes twitched, and she thought she should listen to advice.
There was another person standing on the table, holding a microphone and bending backward, looking like a pop star.
Lu Xiwen pointed to the ground: "Get down."
The other person snapped out of it and jumped down quickly, shouting, "Brother Lu!"
A simple "brother" reveals a friendship that has lasted for many years.
Lu Xiwen grunted in response and his gaze swept across the room, finding Kuang Junmeng.
Everyone they knew was there, including Cao Guan, and Pei Wu immediately spotted a particularly handsome Omega with slightly long hair sitting in the middle of their clearly defined little group.
Without even thinking, I knew in my heart that he was an Omega.
"They're here?" Cao Guan called out, then raised an eyebrow when he saw Pei Wu behind him. "Seriously, brother? You managed to get Pei Wu, who was supposed to be on holiday for the New Year, here?"
Lu Xiwen said casually, "He was with me last night."
The scene fell silent instantly.
Pei Wu: "..."
Even with thorough mental preparation, sometimes it's hard to keep up with Lu Xiwen's pace.
"What?" Lu Xiwen lifted his eyelids. "Am I some kind of ruthless swindler? Can't Pei Wu be my friend outside of work?"
In this relationship, in addition to superiors and subordinates, there is finally an additional layer of definition: "friends".
"Let's do the math." Kuang Junmeng pointed to the chair in front of him: "Sit down! Your friend is my friend, Assistant Pei... Pei Wu! Come and have some tea!"
"Thank you." Pei Wu sat down as instructed.
Kuang Junmeng introduced several people to Pei Wu. When he got to the Omega, he said, "Guan Yan is also our childhood friend. He has been studying abroad and only came back yesterday."
"Hello."
Guan Yan blinked his narrow eyes slightly and replied in a friendly manner, "Hello."
The excitement continues.
Guan Yan is a very different person if you pay a little attention to him. He plays cards with an elegant yet lazy demeanor. Occasionally, when he takes a few cards from the opponent, he smiles with his lips pursed, which is very much like a cunning fox, and very alluring.
Even Pei Wu, who should have been immune to beauty, couldn't help but take a second look.
