Chapter 28 You're Really Noisy
Pei Wu didn't get home until 11 p.m.
He closed the door, stood in the entryway for a while, stretched his shoulders and neck wearily, and cleared his mind.

Someone noticed and asked curiously, "Does Young Master Ruan know Assistant Pei?"
Ruan Hanyan nodded slightly: "We know each other."

Ruan Hanyan and Su Chen are both one level above Pei Wu.
Pei Wu is still a bit short of being worldly-wise, but he's certainly polite and considerate. Su Chen frowned: "Pei Wu, can't you hear me?"
Lu Xiwen asked in a deep voice, "Who are you talking to?"
Su Chen choked up.
He had investigated Pei Wu's recent situation a long time ago, so he naturally knew who his superior was. A common problem among high-ranking Alphas is arrogance, but clearly no one had the right to be arrogant in front of Lu Xiwen. Wan Guirong sensed the awkward atmosphere and stepped in to smooth things over, saying, "It would be even better if everyone were familiar with each other, it would be more lively. Everyone, please sit down, please sit down."
The Su family has invested in Shengxing and is about to form a marriage alliance with the Ruan family. Both families are considered long-established and prestigious, and both have to give them some face.
Lu Xiwen's seat was more spacious than others. He leaned back half a body length from Pei Wu, with his arm resting on the back of the chair. No matter how you looked at it, it seemed as if he had included Pei Wu in his private territory.

Lu Xiwen was not the kind of person who would say something based on a few sweet words or a person's appearance. Even so, Pei Wu still felt an uncontrollable anger surging within him, finally turning into a sharp impulse that urged him to put the soup bowl in the middle on Ruan Hanyan's head.
Lu Xiwen glanced at Ruan Hanyan and thought the other person was like a vase with rich paint, the kind that couldn't hide its flaws.
Lu Xi ignored him and instead whispered to Pei Wu, "Two pieces of fried pastry? Are they delicious?"
The man's voice was deep and resonant, carrying a soothing quality that Pei Wu might have mistaken for reality. The crisp, clean scent instantly washed away the negative emotions within her, gradually calming Pei Wu's restless mind.
"Would you like to try some?" Pei Wu asked softly.
Ruan Hanyan couldn't help but ask, "President Lu?"
Lu Xi looked up and said, "You're really noisy."
Ruan Hanyan's shyness froze instantly, the cracks clearly visible on her face.
