Chapter 22 Did Fu Yungui save you?
When she arrived at the main building entrance, Fu Qiyu was already waiting for her. After hearing the news, she ran straight out of bed without even putting on her shoes. The maid followed behind to get her shoes. When she saw Momo get out of the car, she immediately ran over and hugged her.
“Momo…” Fu Qiyu burst into tears upon seeing that she was safe and sound. “I thought I would never see you again.”
"If anything happens to you, I will never have peace of mind for the rest of my life."
Momo had been strong all the way, but one sentence from her broke her down. She hugged Fu Qiyu tightly and cried her heart out.
"Come in, it's too hot outside," Song Cha reminded them, then had the servants separate them and bring them inside.
"Are you alright?" Fu Qiyu wiped away her tears, looked her up and down, and then asked her again to confirm.
Momo nodded, still sobbing, "I'm fine."
"That's good. Don't worry, my grandfather won't let them get away with this. He will definitely avenge us."
Momo nodded, but it wasn't a very important thing to her anymore.
Song Cha asked someone to take Momo to her room to wash up and get rid of the fatigue and dust, and then asked the kitchen to prepare a meal for her.
After Momo left with the maid, Fu Qiyu knelt on the carpet beneath Song Cha's legs, and her spirits immediately improved compared to when she returned.
"Dad, can you find those people?" Fu Qiyu asked him, looking up at him.
She had nothing to photograph their faces at the time, so she had to rely solely on her own descriptions to find them, which was quite difficult.
"It should be fine, my dear daughter. Don't worry about these things now. Dad will handle the rest. You just need to take care of yourself and your friends." Song Cha gently reached out and touched her hair.
Fu Qiyu nodded, "Okay... Where's Grandpa?" She hadn't seen her grandfather since she arrived home safely.
“Grandpa has something to take care of,” Song Cha said.
"Oh..." Fu Qiyu didn't ask any more questions, because even if she did, her father wouldn't tell her.
Before long, Song Cha was also called away by Pi Weng, leaving only Fu Qiyu and a group of servants in the living room waiting for Momo to finish washing up.
Soon, Momo finished washing up, got dressed, and came downstairs. Fu Qiyu saw her and quickly got up from the carpet to walk towards her.
"Momo, this is a temporary phone for you. You should also send a message to your aunt and uncle. They'll worry if they try to contact you and you don't reply all day."
When Momo heard her say that, she realized that she hadn't texted her mother for more than a day. If her mother called and she didn't answer, her mother would definitely worry.
Momo took the phone from her hand. "Qiqi, I'll go make a call first."
"good."
Momo went to a quiet place and dialed her mother's number. The phone was answered the moment it rang.
"Mom." Momo choked up as soon as she called out.
"Momo?" The person on the other end of the phone had been waiting at home, and the moment they heard her voice, tears almost welled up in their eyes.
She started calling her yesterday evening and has been calling her at least a hundred times since then, but no one has answered.
She was extremely anxious at home. The longer she stayed, the more uneasy she felt. The more uneasy she felt, the more unpleasant and negative thoughts would keep churning in her mind.
She herself didn't know how she got through those short twenty-odd hours. It was a feeling of helpless despair.
"What's wrong with you? Why is no one answering the phone?" Although her mother's words were reproachful, her tone was still gentle.
Now that I've heard her voice and know she's safe, that's enough.
Momo felt a lump in her throat as she listened. She tried to hold back her sobs and said softly, "Mom, I'm sorry for making you worry. Yesterday, Qiqi and I went out to play, and my phone fell into the sea and I couldn't find it. We were having so much fun that I forgot to tell you and went straight back to the hotel to sleep."
"But I'm back now, and I'm fine."
Hearing her say that, the person on the other end of the phone finally felt relieved, and their tightly furrowed brows relaxed.
"That's good. But don't do it again next time. Don't make your parents worry like this."
Momo took a deep breath and replied, "Mmm..."
When will you be back?
"Tomorrow, the flight is at 2 PM tomorrow," Momo said confidently.
"Okay, I'll pick you up from the airport tomorrow."
“Okay, then I’ll hang up with Mom first. Qiqi is waiting for me to eat,” Momo said.
"good."
"Goodbye, Mom." Momo obediently said goodbye to her mother, then hung up the phone and went inside.
The food was already laid out on the table. Fu Qiyu sat in the middle waiting for her. Momo walked over and sat down opposite her. The two looked at each other for a long time, and then suddenly fell silent.
Finally, Fu Qiyu spoke first, "Momo, where did they take you later?"
"I don't know what that place is, I only know it's a basement with lots of weird people inside." Momo still feels uncomfortable when she thinks about the scene of the human body performance on stage.
"Then how did you escape?" Fu Qiyu asked again.
“It was Fu Yungui…” Momo paused and then continued, “I ran into him there.”
Fu Qiyu found it unbelievable when she heard the name, "He saved you?"
Momo shook her head. "You could say that."
She admitted that she was able to get out of that horrible basement because of Fu Yungui; if it weren't for him, she would have definitely died there last night.
Although I don't know why he suddenly went crazy again and threw me out of the car, he still remembered to give me some money.
So this person isn't entirely bad.
Compared to that Buddy, Fu Yungui could be considered a good person.
"My uncle is really hard to understand," Fu Qiyu muttered casually, then started serving food to Momo.
“Yes, I don’t know either,” Momo replied.
"In short, it's good that we're all safe and sound," Fu Qiyu said.
"By the way, how did you escape?" Momo couldn't help but ask her curiously.
“Me…” Fu Qiyu said, putting down her chopsticks, “They put me down themselves. I told that man I was Pi Weng’s granddaughter. They were afraid of getting into trouble, so they released me when we got to the shore. But they just wouldn’t let you go.”
"So that's how it is." Jasmine finally understood.
Fu Qiyu ran over and took her hand, looking guilty. "Momo, I really feel sorry for you. You've suffered so much in just a few days."
"You've left a very bad impression on me during my trip to Thailand."
Momo smiled and reached out to shake her hand. "Why do you think like that? What does everything that happened have to do with you? You're suffering too."
