Meng Qi paused, "You, he, did he say anything?"
Fanghua shook the handkerchief in her hand, "Do you want to know?"
Meng Qi showed a disdainful look, "What official are you selling? It's as if I can't see him."
Seeing Meng Qi turning around to go back to the west room, Fang Hua laughed out loud, "Sixth Brother always says that I can't keep my composure, but I think you're even worse. But since you reminded me the other day, I'll remind you too."
"What?"
"Empress Lianfei put in a lot of effort for the Empress that day, and even brought out her old illness. As her daughter-in-law, won't you go and see her?"
Meng Qi looked at Fang Hua, who continued, "If you go now, you might be able to help Empress Lian take her medicine. Oh, by the way, the premise is that you won't make Empress Lian even more angry and sicker if you go."
Fanghua smiled proudly and turned back to the east room.
Just when Meng Qi was wondering whether she should report to Concubine Xiang that she was going to Qionghua Palace, the voice of Ms. Li came from outside the door.
Ms. Li bowed to Meng Qi and said, "The prince has ordered me to come and see if you are awake. He wants to go with you to visit Concubine Lian."
"Did you just go to see the prince?" Meng Qi asked.
Ms. Li looked up and said, "I had wanted to go back to the west room to rest. Perhaps I couldn't sleep well in a different place and felt uneasy. Then I heard someone enter Kunning Palace, and several eunuchs and palace maids from the west courtyard ran out. I couldn't sleep anyway, so I went to see what was going on. It turned out to be Master Kaiyuan. I didn't dare to go forward, but I saw Eunuch Hu instead."
Meng Qi nodded, "Where is the prince now?"
"At the gate of Kunning Palace."
Meng Qi stood up and walked out, looking at Ms. Li who was following her. She did not ask Ms. Li why she answered Fang Hua's question like that. She didn't completely trust Ms. Li in the first place, so she decided to wait and see.
Song Chengze stood beside the bright red lacquer pillars of Kunning Palace. He was wearing a dark green brocade robe embroidered with delicate cloud patterns. The silk threads shimmered softly in the sun. The collar and cuffs were trimmed with a circle of light blue piping, which made it look more exquisite. He had a black belt around his waist and a pair of black deerskin boots with golden tassels on his feet. He was not wearing a cloak, which made him look more heroic and handsome.
The man standing opposite him smiled slightly when he saw Meng Qi approaching. "In that case, you make the arrangements. The Miao area is not like the northwest. The local chieftains there are powerful and cannot be underestimated. I really told him to be careful."
Meng Qi looked at the prince, who was wearing a white jade crown inlaid with a huge pearl, and a silver cloak that wrapped around his slightly thin figure. He smiled gently at her.
"Greetings, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince." Meng Qi stepped forward and saluted.
"No need to be so formal. Yesterday I told my sixth brother that I would take you to visit Concubine Lian, but he said that the Empress's visit was more important. If it weren't for my health and the many things going on in the Eastern Palace, the Crown Princess couldn't be there to take care of me. I'm sorry to bother you," the Crown Prince said gently.
Meng Qi stood up straight. "Your Highness is kind. The prince is not in the palace on weekdays, and many things still rely on your Highness and the Crown Princess to take care of them. What a small thing is."
The prince nodded and patted Song Chengze on the shoulder, "Go quickly. Since your father has instructed you to do so, don't worry. Even though we are all gathered here, we can't help Master Kaiyuan at all." After saying that, he nodded to Meng Qi and got on the warm sedan chair.
Seeing the prince leave, Hu Changsheng waved back, and a warm sedan drove over. Ms. Li hurried forward to lift the curtain, and Song Chengze stepped forward with a flick of his clothes. Meng Qi took Ms. Li's hand and followed him into the warm sedan.
The car squeaked as it started moving. The two of them sat facing each other. Fortunately, the road in the palace was flat, otherwise they would have collided with each other if there was a shake. Meng Qi smelled the pleasant, light scent of hay on Song Chengze again.
"It seems to be going well?" Song Chengze spoke first, his voice hoarse.
"Why do you think so?" Meng Qi asked.
"When I saw Fanghua, I asked her why she didn't come out. She told me you were sleeping, and her expression didn't show any disgust. If your conversation wasn't going well, she wouldn't have told me you were sleeping. But were you tired last night?" Song Chengze looked concerned.
Meng Qi shook her head. "No, that's not the case. The Queen seemed to be afraid that we would come to guard closely, so there was no movement at all. I don't know why I fell into such a deep sleep after returning this morning. I didn't even know Fanghua had left."
