Chapter 21 Water Fixing

The three of them remained silent and soon finished fixing the boat, and even checked their equipment.

The game was about to end, and Xiao Jin and the others planned to fill their stomachs before traveling light.

With all the food piled up together, and no longer needing to watch the time to eat sparingly, Feng Mingyang took a big bite of the bread in front of him. His mood at this moment was completely different from that of two hours ago.

He had just said that Xiao Jin's idea was unfounded, and that maybe the remaining time in the survival game would be a bonus period. Who would have thought that Feng Mingyang would be proven wrong so soon afterward.

The torrential rain caused the water level to rise rapidly, quickly spreading to the first floor of the hotel.

Upon seeing the torrential rain, the person lying in the lobby on the first floor panicked.

"Water! The water's rising! Quick, get uphill!"

It sounds easy, but moving up in this crowded space is no easy task. The people on the outermost side want to run upstairs, but the people inside are blocking the stairs, so no one can move an inch.

You push me, I push you, and if someone loses their footing, they'll be tripped and fall to the ground. Several pairs of muddy feet trample on them, and before they can even scream, they're turned into a puddle of mud.

Seeing that things were getting chaotic, Feng Mingyang forgot about eating and asked, "What should we do? Should we go upstairs too?"

"No!" Xiao Jin shook his head: "The rubber boat is too conspicuous, and besides, we can't get on it at this time. We'll get on the boat directly after the water level rises."

The howling winds began to sound, and the hotel windows groaned under the strain. 'Boom!' Thunder and gale came in tandem, and the survivors' expressions were filled with despair.

They still vividly remembered the strong winds that swept through the city center. Now, facing the waves gradually being whipped up by the wind, they felt as if they had nowhere to hide and that the whole world was about to be destroyed by this disaster.

Xiao Jin's expression was not good at the moment. She then took out a roll of climbing rope from her backpack and tied one side of the rope firmly to the rubber boat.

Xiao Jin remembered that there were several load-bearing pillars in the hotel lobby, and it would take two people to hug them.

Just then, screams rang out along with the sound of shattering glass. The strong winds swept all the rainwater into the hotel, and the rainwater below splashed up waves a meter high. Many people were swept into the water before they could get out of the way.

"Help! Help me!"

"Ahhh!"

Xiang Lei's expression changed drastically. He turned his head and asked, "Xiao Jin?"

Xiao Jin strode to the window, kicked it hard, and without a strong wind, the window in front of the three of them was broken open. The wind then blew Xiang Lei and Feng Mingyang off balance.

The two raised their hands to shield their eyes from the wind, and out of the corner of their eyes, they saw Xiao Jin throw the rubber boat down.

Xiao Jin grabbed the rope on the rubber boat with one hand to prevent it from being blown away by the wind, and turned to say, "Get down."

"good!"

At this moment, the third floor was less than a meter from the water. With a light jump, Feng Mingyang jumped onto the rubber boat. With someone holding the boat down, it was no longer rocking so badly.

Xiang Lei jumped down as well.

Seeing that they had successfully boarded the boat, Xiao Jin stood by the window and said, "Grab onto both sides, don't let the boat capsize," before jumping directly into the water.

"Hey, hey, boss, you're wrong, no..." Feng Mingyang was so scared when he saw Xiao Jin dive into the water that his heart almost stopped.

Without even thinking, Feng Mingyang was about to plunge into the water, but Xiang Lei quickly grabbed him.

"What's the panic? He did it on purpose."

"Huh?" Feng Mingyang was taken aback.

Xiang Lei: "Xiao Jin probably wanted to secure the rubber boat. As he said, we should pay attention to the balance and not let the boat capsize."

"Oh, okay!" Following Xiang Lei's actions, the two stood at the front and back respectively, grabbing onto the protrusions on the exterior of the building, trying to stop the constantly rocking ship from swaying.

During this time, the cold rain poured down, and the waves whipped up by the wind occasionally slapped against the two of them, but Xiang Lei and Feng Mingyang kept Xiao Jin's words in mind and dared not relax their grip for a moment.

On the other side, Xiao Jin held her breath and jumped into the water. After entering the water, she quickly took out an underwater lamp from her space. The dim light illuminated the situation below. Xiao Jin entered the lobby on the first floor through the broken window.

In just over ten meters, Xiao Jin saw no fewer than five corpses.

Some were crushed under cabinets due to overcrowding; when they died, their hands were still trying to reach upwards, their mouths were wide open, and their bellies were swollen like balloons.

Others were blown away by the wind, crashed into broken staircases, and died from having their bodies impaled.

Xiao Jin swam past the corpses without glancing to the side. After reaching the first floor, she tied the rope she had been holding tightly to a pillar, then turned and swam towards the surface.

Just as she emerged from the water, before she could even locate Xiang Lei and the other person, Xiao Jin was swept back into the water by an oncoming wave.

"Pfft!" Xiao Jin floated up and spat out the water in his mouth. He squinted and looked for the rubber boat, only to see Xiang Lei and the other two awkwardly blocking other survivors who wanted to climb onto the boat.

It turned out that the three people's actions had been observed by the people upstairs. Upon seeing their rubber boat, the survivors waved frantically at Xiang Lei and his companion, as if they had seen a lifeline.

"Help me, I'm going to fall!"

"Please, ship, let me on board."

The rainwater rose extremely quickly, and the entire third floor was now submerged. The survivors who had rushed into the hotel earlier were either trampled to death or blown into the water by the wind. However, the remaining two floors of the building were still not enough to accommodate the remaining people.

They were piled up on top of each other, on hotel counters, outside the building, and even climbed out of broken windows onto the rooftop. Everywhere they could stand was now filled with people.

But whenever a storm hits, people are swept into the water.

At this moment, Xiao Jin and her two companions appeared with a boat. Considering that they still had to go up the mountain, many people left their boats at the foot of the mountain. As the water rose, their boats disappeared long ago, leaving them with no way to retreat. Those who had boats were filled with regret.

For Xiang Lei and his crew, their boat was the best option to survive.

Xiang Lei also wanted to live, but the boat was only so big, and at most five people could stand on it, so he refused the survivors' pleas for help.

With the threat of death looming overhead, the people in the hotel weren't going to let this opportunity slip by. Some of them jumped directly off the ship, and it took Feng Mingyang a lot of effort to push them off.

Even knowing that his actions might kill someone, Feng Mingyang still gritted his teeth and drove the person away while his arms trembled.

'Thump! Thump!'

More and more people couldn't hold on any longer. The survivors who jumped into the water had only one thought in their minds: climb onto the boat, climb onto the boat and I can live!
