Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Zhao Sumu dragged his tired body back to the small clinic.

"Where did you go?" Honeysuckle asked.

"I'm not telling you!" Su Mu dashed back to his room and collapsed onto the bed.

I let out a long sigh. How long will it take for me to get out of the city gates at this rate? I'm already exhausted after just one hour.

Su Mu turned over and fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up, it was already evening.

I rubbed my stomach, which had been protesting for a long time, and went to the kitchen to find that my whole family was already having dinner!

"Huh? You didn't even call me?!" Su Mu rushed to the table, sat down, and started frantically eating.

“We thought you weren’t home,” his mother said as she served him food.

"I noticed you weren't in your room this early in the morning, where did you go off to play?" the father asked.

While eating, Su Mu said, "I've gone to train with the demon-slaying team."

There was complete silence after those words were spoken.

Seeing that no one responded, Su Mu said, "Hey, I trained really hard today, don't discourage me."

"Go and exercise; it's good for your health," Su's mother said, trying to smooth things over.

Ren Dong glanced at Su Mu Mo without saying a word, finished eating, and went to pick out medicinal herbs.

Su's mother kept piling food onto Su Mu's plate, urging him to "eat more."

Su Mu quickly finished his meal, returned to his room, changed into a new set of clothes, and went out for a stroll.

Before I knew it, I had wandered to the gate of the demon-slaying team. "Oh, what a coincidence!"

Su Mu went straight to Wu Wei's room and knocked on the door. "Captain, I'm here."

With no response, Su Mu gave up and walked over to the other team members who were busy there. "Hello, do you know where Captain Wu Wei went?"

"I don't know either. Why don't you go look in the training ground?"

Su Mu thanked him and headed towards the training ground. As soon as he arrived at the entrance, he saw Wu Wei practicing martial arts inside.

Standing over 1.8 meters tall, the veins on his hands bulged as he gripped the knife. His sharp eyes seemed to see right through his opponent. He held a knife in each hand and swung it forward at lightning speed. The spinning of the two knives produced a series of cutting sounds. Although he looked incredibly strong, his speed was by no means lacking.

Su Mu stood at the doorway, stunned: So handsome! This is exactly what he wants to become!

Wu Wei also noticed Su Mu behind him. With a quick turn of his hands, he swiftly sheathed the two knives behind him.

"What are you doing here so late?"

"I'd like to see if you can teach me anything else."

Wu Wei rolled his eyes. "You can't even use a knife and you expect me to teach you?"

"I will practice!" Su Mu eagerly proved.

"Go find other people to train with tomorrow," Wu Wei said before preparing to leave.

"When will you teach me? I want to learn your swordsmanship!"

Wu gave him a disdainful look and said, "We'll see when you can withstand one of my moves."

Su Mu watched Wu Wei's departing figure, then walked to the center of the martial arts arena and continued to squat in a horse stance. It seems he needs to get stronger quickly!

Su Mu didn't know how long he had been squatting there, only that he had lost consciousness and was woken up by a strange man the next day.

"Hey, who are you? Sleeping isn't allowed here."

Su Mu rubbed his eyes. "How come it's already dawn?"

Looking at the person in front of him, also dressed as a demon hunter, he said, "I'm Su Mu. Captain Wu told me to train here."

The man nodded. "Then you'd better get up quickly, we need to practice."

Su Mu stood up. "Can I learn along with them? Captain Wu told me to join you."

"I'll go ask the captain. You can wait here for now."

Su Mu nodded, but his stomach started growling again, so he decided to go to his second sister's house to buy a few pounds of steamed buns first.

He ran over quickly, bought all the buns in one go, and carried them back. Seeing that many people were already practicing in the martial arts field, he hurriedly ran over to talk to the man from earlier that morning, "I just bought some breakfast. Would you like to eat something before you practice?"

"I just asked Captain Wu, and he said there really is such a person. You'll be working for me from now on; just call me Old Li." Old Li was pleased to take Su Mu on, thinking he was quite capable. "Everyone, hold on a minute, we have a new recruit here."

Everyone stopped and listened quietly to what Old Li had to say: "His name is Su Mu. He bought breakfast for everyone on his first day here. Let's eat before we start practicing!"

Everyone flocked over, thanking Su Mu while eating meat buns, and Su Mu smiled and distributed breakfast.

Su Mu chuckled to himself: Of course, a newcomer needs to build good relationships on the first day, otherwise no one will protect him in the future.
