The girl who had finished hosting on the stage walked towards Mu Jiang with something in her hand. Her eyebrows were curved when she smiled, which was very cute.
"Mu Jiang, you sang so well just now," the girl carefully handed him the thing in her hand, "This is a gift from me for you. I hope you like it."
"Thanks!"
I thought he would treat her differently than the others, at least not with such perfunctory and fake smiles. After all, he had fought with three boys because of this girl before, so he should at least take her more seriously.
"You're welcome." The girl didn't show any disappointment, as if she knew that he was just that kind of person, cold and indifferent, making it impossible to really get close to him.
They were not late when they got home, but there were some problems on the way.
Mu Jiang asked her to stop in front of a trash can, opened the trunk himself, and threw everything in the back into the trash can, including the gift for the school beauty.
"Mu Jiang!" Ouyang wanted to ask him in a teaching tone why he did this. After all, those who gave him gifts were kind-hearted. But when he said it, his tone changed. "This trash can can't hold all your gifts."
Mu Jiang threw away the things in his hand and looked at her: "Just put it aside, someone will pick it up tomorrow." As for the people he was talking about picking up, it could be some people who like these things, or it could be animals in the grass.
After getting in the car, she didn't rush to drive away. Instead, she asked, "If you don't like it, why don't you refuse it?"
He opened the window and a cool breeze blew into the car: "There are too many words to say no to others."
She seemed to want to pry more words out of him, but after thinking it over, she decided not to ask. She drove back to the apartment and said as soon as she entered the door, "Pack up your things and we'll go to the beach."
"What?" Mu Jiang didn't expect her to say that. "I have classes tomorrow."
"Ask your teacher for leave," she looked at him, "you should know how to say it."
He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I just said I was going out to play. What can she do to me?"
"I'll book a hotel and plane ticket now." She went back to her room first and prepared to pack a few things.
As for why it was the seaside, it was because she once saw Mu Jiang yearning for the sea in the movie.
The plane took off and arrived on time, and the person who came to pick them up was also very punctual. Without much fatigue, the two arrived at the hotel.
The next day, Ouyang knocked on Mu Jiang's door: "Are you up?"
"Yeah." The person inside opened the door and came out.
Ouyang looked him up and down. Apart from the clothes he was wearing, the only thing he had on him was his cell phone.
"We'll go out to sea soon," she said.
"Go to the sea?" The ocean is a place Mu Jiang longs for. When he got off the plane yesterday, he looked at the sea at night. It was the first time he saw the real ocean.
On the yacht, Mu Jiang was enjoying the comfort brought to him by the sea breeze and waves. His cell phone was left in the yacht, and Ouyang took it in his hand. At this time, someone happened to call him.
It was an unfamiliar number, but it had been swept away by the waves.
"Ouyang?" Mu Jiang looked at her, "What are you doing?"
She just sat there, hoping to reach the island on the other side as soon as possible. She had asked Dongya to help investigate. On this island called Ludao, there were dozens of families living there, and there was also a middle school. It was not large, but the children there were about the same age as Mujiang.
After reaching the shore, Mu Jiang's emotions were smoothed out by the constant waves.
"Are there any shells here?" he asked.
"There should be." Ouyang looked at the beach in the distance. Those grains of sand might have evolved from those shells.
They walked up the road and came across a family. Ouyang asked for their address. It was the accommodation that Dongya had specially arranged for them. The other party looked at them and said happily, "Their family has been waiting for a long time. Come with me."
Ouyang didn't understand. Did everyone in the village know they were coming?
Mu Jiang followed behind. He was still worried about the phone that was thrown into the sea. If it was eaten by a marine animal, it would cause circulatory damage. He couldn't help but feel a little distressed: "You shouldn't have thrown my phone away."
Ouyang was walking in front, and this was the first complaint she heard: "I was a little anxious just now. I will definitely give you a new one when we get back."
He stopped.
"What's wrong?" Ouyang also stopped and moved closer to him. "What's going on?"
"Give me your phone," he continued, seeing she wasn't ready to take it, "I'll call the school."
Seeing him say that, Ouyang still gave it to him.
The person standing next to them saw Mu Jiang was about to make a phone call and kindly said, "The signal here is not very good, you may not be able to get through."
"Really?" Mu Jiang looked at his cell phone and found that there was no signal.
"It doesn't matter. Just go up a little bit and there will always be something."
"It seems like the only option is texting," Mu Jiang wrote a message and then sent it to Ouyang, "I'll send it when there's a signal."
Ouyang answered the phone. If he had known the signal here was so bad, he wouldn't have thrown his phone into the sea. Now he really felt a little sorry for her.
First we went uphill, then downhill, back and forth for about half an hour, and finally arrived at a stone house.
A number of villagers gathered around, all of whom were probably aware of their arrival. Their enthusiasm was somewhat difficult for Ouyang and Mu Jiang to accept, until they sat down inside and, under their watchful eyes, ate some local seafood.
