Giving him a negative reply wasn’t really a good option, but they didn’t have any other choice. He had just witnessed the divine book going through its pages and then shutting them out at last when it couldn’t find any answers. Both women had been going through this the whole night, and at some point, they started praying to whoever was listening for the book that has always had answers to give them even if it was just a clue.
But, they were still stuck.
Aragon hadn’t said anything, and that was making them feel even more uneasy. It had been months since they saw him this way, and of course, everyone had been glad that he was smiling very easily and his aura wasn’t all over the place, but the day he had returned like someone or something had once again snapped his restraints- they knew things were gonna turn harsh and strict again.
"I...even asked my brother several times for help, but he still didn’t reply. I thought maybe if I could use the orb that was with him since it’s even more powerful than the divine book, then maybe..."
"I’ll be sending you off to the Mist Forest very soon. The three of you will go there, and you will bring me back the answers I need. There are other assignments..." Aragon trailed off, recalling the little boy from last night. Those words he had spoken weren’t empty. How odd.
Acacia’s face fell. She didn’t want to go back there and see that lousy brother of hers. He wouldn’t even let her in. The brother she knows would even pretend he doesn’t know her, and that could start up a costly fight.
"Yes, your Majesty." She responded with a bow.
"What... about Zoan?" Tatiana stumbled out in a small whisper, afraid that he might just come at her if she spoke a little louder. Tatiana hated that annoying ability of Zoan’s of being able to erase their memories and make them forget he ever existed so they wouldn’t bother tracing his movements. She recalled seeing him in the palace too recently, and after that Raziah had asked about him too but...
Wait a second, how is Raziah not able to forget about him? Could he have exempted her from it? Or...
"He has more on his hands than he bargained for, and he will soon realize that," Aragon replied curtly, before sauntering out of the room leaving the women to ponder over what he had just said.
"Ah damn it. I didn’t have plans on seeing that shitty brother soon." Acacia stated bitterly. She was still dressed in her nightgown which only reached her thigh, and as she threw her hands up in the air it ran up her legs even more, "He said we were gonna be three. Who do you think they’re gonna be?"
"I’m not a mind reader and I haven’t had a blink of sleep for more than three nights. Don’t come here throwing your problems at me. I didn’t ask you to abandon your brother and come live here!"
"Oh, like you are such a goody two shoes, tati. All that facade is something I can see through, and you know that even more than I do."
As always, the enchantress couldn’t stand her anymore and headed for the door, "Well you should be proud of yourself, then!" She flashed her a mocking grin before slamming the door behind her.

"Hurry, hurry!" Caius whispered as he dragged Aletta out of the room and down the palace walls.
"What? Where are we going? Where are you taking me?" Aletta was now angry at herself. Why the hell is she so light?!
"While aunt Ana is still in the bathroom, it’s our chance to escape. She won’t let me leave the room alone, and she won’t let you leave the palace right? We can just do that when she’s not watching right? So hurry hurry! We are leaving the palace now!" He sounded so excited.
Aletta had changed from the dress she was putting on before Into lighter clothing. A smaller Milky dress that wasn’t as big as the last one, and this one had a light hoodie she wore over her head, with her full red hair falling over and around it.
"You shouldn’t go against her. She said something about you being sick this morning right? I’m sure she has a reason for keeping you mostly indoors." Aletta tried to reason with him, but he wasn’t going to let her go. He had already made up his mind that he was going exploring, and nothing would stop him.
"Well, I have my reasons too for leaving. She promised to take me out once we got there!"
"Maybe she’s just looking for the perfect time. You know the kingdom just came out of war, and some things still needs to be put back in place. There could still be warriors from the enemy kingdom lurking around, and we could trigger some traps that were set up during the war and haven’t been undone. A lot of things could go wrong. Staying in the palace is the safest...!" She pulled back with so much struggle before her strength got to him.
Caius halted.
"Remember she also has other people to look after. And I’m sure once everything has settled down again, she would keep to her promise,"
"The only time I get to leave this cage is when I sleep-walk and find myself somewhere else," Then he giggled at himself, recalling how Fabia had looked like a mad woman when she finally found him inside the carriage with the Princess. She does look after him, and it’s nice to have her around, "Fine, if we are not getting out of this cage, then we will explore the cage itself!!" He deadpanned, staring at Aletta right in the eye.
It was devastating how intense his grey depths were, like there was something inside daring her to say No.
"Ohhhh, Why not?" Aletta quickly looked away from him, then began muttering to herself, "It’s not like I would end up running into the many people I’ve been trying to avoid. It’s not like we could round up that corner and I’ll find Zoan standing..."
Aletta’s body froze.
Dear lord, Was this what they meant when they say be careful what you wish for? Where on earth did he come from?!
