Chapter 80: Wholeheartedly.

Aragon watched as she pulled herself away from him, her eyes gazing at the walls that were stained with blood. She gently walked away from him, and her legs were trembling. He wouldn’t have noticed if not that he saw that she was finding it hard to walk, till she climbed up the tiers and stopped right in front of the wall.

He was right behind her, accessing the walls a number of times to see what could have made her like this, but it looked ordinary to him. Raziah’s fingers reached out and touched the wall, and he could now visibly see her trembling fingers and she kept tracing something around the wall.

At first, she looked confused. He kept looking between her and the wall but he just couldn’t find anything there...till he saw something reflecting in the depths of her eyes. Her hands kept tracing some pattern that was invisible to him, and yet he could see the engravings clearly writing in her eyes, reflecting back Into his.

They looked like ancient writings that even he couldn’t read, and the confused look in Raziah’s eyes Informed him that she could explain what it meant either. The most surprising thing about it all was that even though Aragon identified the words as ancient writings, it looked as if it hasn’t been up to half an hour since it was scribbled into that wall.

Raziah had also noticed it too, and the first person she suspected was Caius. It was ridiculous because he had been tied with heavy chains, so how on earth was he able to even do this? When? Even the width of the writings pointed out that the words had been written with small fingers that were just the size of his. No, there were many impossibilities to that.

And as impossible as it all looked, she had this unexplainable feeling that she might just be able to read it with the right concentration.

Aragon’s watched through her eyes as she kept tracing and adding pressing against the words. She kept on doing that, till her eyes fluttered close. He already knew that whenever she closed her eyes, it always seems to give her a maximum amount of concentration on whatever she was trying to achieve.

Her eyes were closed when she was battling against the female vampire when she came to take him away.

Her eyes were closed too while he watched her from a distance as she crouched down, felt the earth beneath her and found out about the pillar. He had concluded that she was able to tap into a wilderness inside of her whenever she closed her eyes, and he was right about that.

His eyes slowly moved up to the moon, and he predicted correctly that it was just a few seconds till midnight struck. And his predictions were always correct because just as midnight struck, Raziah’s eyes popped wide open...and he watched the spellbinding moment happen through her hazel globes.

The writings were suddenly moving on their own around the walls, though they didn’t move completely out of proportion. It’s like they were changing shape, trying to form a new word. They moved against the wall, shimmering with the silver light that was touching them from the moon. Their movements picked up speed, and Raziah watched in awe and fascinated as they began forming new words.

Words she could easily read.

Words that deciphered into a language she and Aragon could read.

Raziah read the words just once, and it’s like everything she’s been keeping back burst up to the surface. Her emotions turned into a whirlwind and surrounded her chest, stinging her very badly. The lump and heaviness that filled her throat and chest respectively were indescribably, and Aragon watched for the first time- the woman he knew could barely smile at anything- that was too hard to predict her next movement- the one that screamed of cold vile power and strength, he watched as a single ball of water rolled down her smooth face, falling from those two eyes he was reading the alphabets from.

’ One seeks out for life ’

’ One craves for death ’

Aragon could read those words boldly written on the walls, shining silvery from her eyes. Raziah didn’t even realize she was crying, though she wasn’t sobbing. The tears were just leaving her eyes freely without her even blinking at all at the words. They resembled streaks of ice continuously falling from her eyes, until she felt something warm rubbing gently against her cheeks that she blinked for the first time after opening her eyes.

She finally looked at him, wondering what his thumb was caressing her face for when she felt the wetness running down her eyes. He was wiping away the tears which were still pouring down, and she had just realized that she, Raziah, had been crying.

Not when she was alone.

Not when she found somewhere safe where she could let it all out for once.

But here, right in front of the one person she loathed so much.

Too much infact.

She should be running by now. But she knew her legs had gone too weak to even try it. Crying was a sign of ultimate weakness to her, and she had just done it right in front of her husband she considered as the enemy. She was so devastated and disappointed in herself, and she grew much weaker when she felt the goosebumps that usually arouse on her skin whenever he was around... lessening.

Could it be that...she was beginning to feel...safe around him?

No, that was impossible.

The tears weren’t so much as to blur her vision, but they did just a little. Gazing into his eyes right now, she couldn’t believe what she saw. The darkness that was always dancing around the emptiness that filled them...had been cleared.

Most of it. His aura had reduced greatly again, and that sudden a hundred and eighty-degree chance had whipped back to its former self. All that deadly aura had been sucked back into his body, and it looked like he was fully in control of himself. Her eyes shone with disbelief, and she had to blink several times to completely clear the tears from her eyes.

"My words from before remains the same." He stated strongly, cupping her wet cheeks, "Now let me add one more thing I never would have been able to say to you in that state of mind, wife." He wasn’t smiling at all, and this warm look overtook his eyes. Along with the warm look was something unbelievable flickering into those inky depths, which had her swallowing.

He was looking... strange. So Strange right now.

So strange he himself could not believe what he was doing. It was outrageous that a being like him would... without even knowing what... without having even the basic understanding of what he was dealing with...

"I, Aragon Odysseus, King of Erandell, beholder of the underworld and fire that burns underneath, have tripped undeniably Into the unknown clutches, the stealth icy waves of the creation called Princess Raziah Octavius, and I am beginning to fall into this pit-hole which is you. Which is this present of mine," His husky voice burned down her soul, his eyes staring into hers so piercingly as he confessed wholeheartedly to her with the silver beam of the moonlight now upon the both of them. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
