That moment in time she never knew or imagined existed. Raziah had been taught about love. Her mother made sure it was among one of the lessons in her schedule back when she was young. A Princess is supposed to know how to love, and what it feels like. She learned how to, and the feeling was ecstatic. As a Princess also since from a young age, she was constantly reminded about marriage and fulfilling her duty beside her husband. Respect was the first and foremost subject on the agenda, then patience followed behind.
Love... was just an option. Her mother warned her that if possible, do not fall in love with someone you know you can’t keep. When you understand that you’re a jealous and stubborn type, try your best to keep your distance and not fall for your husband because men these days could come in form of gorgeous-looking angels, but everything is not as it seems. Raziah felt like there was a secret information her mother was trying to let her know with those words being spoken, but she was too young to get a good grasp of the knowledge hiding in them.
After that, each and every day she woke up holding those words dear to her heart, and as time went on she began to truly understand them. Raziah has always thought that there was just something about the world that was... Unbalanced. Something out there that makes the world tip to one side instead of being sturdy. Just something that made the water taste sour to her mouth, and the breeze feel prickly against her skin. Nothing ever pleased her again after the incident when the ray of light that had finally found its way into her dark life was suddenly snatched away again, burnt down to the very ashes of it that remains. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
A lot of things were already happening to her now that she was married and this night in particular, and this confession had to be the biggest of them all because it was one she never thought would occur. Raziah can lie to others, but she would not lie to herself. She wouldn’t start now unless she concludes that lying to herself can protect her from whatever it is. She had just confirmed it this night, that she indeed, was something she feared not to become. Reading those symbols on the wall had driven her out of control, pooling a storm of emotions in her mind.
That was the last straw she needed to confirm who she truly was.
And now... She was running out of time.
Really, really running out of time. She needed to make her wish come true so she would witness it with her own eyes before it was too late.
And then, the one person she sincerely despises tells her words that meant only one thing. He suddenly looks into her eyes like he’s never before, and speaks out words that she couldn’t even take out an atom of lie from. There was a glow between their faces, that particular insect that always finds its way to them whenever this damp mood settled between them. A firefly, though it was a very small one.
Raziah’s body turned colder. Even if he had somehow started harboring feelings for her, why would someone like him think it’s right for him to tell her about it? Doesn’t he think she might just take advantage of this? No, the real question she was supposed to be asking here was how on earth was he even able to like someone like her? She couldn’t find one reason why! All they’ve done to each other was just... Crazy! Like why...?!
A man like him... falling for her?
She stared at his face. His long silky hair was let down his back, and his eyes were transfixed on hers. She had so many comebacks to blow out at him. If he’s truly sincere, if he’s not some world-class actor that can easily turn heads, if he really feels that way, then too bad for him because she’s checked every nook and crook of her body, and she can’t even try and lie to herself because it would taste so bad on her tongue.
"My words also remain the same from last time." She finally broke the massive silence that was bearing hard to carry. Like she said before, there was no use lying to herself or even him at the moment because the truth about how she felt was already written in her eyes before she spelled it out, "And tell that to your future Queen, your Majesty. I’m sure she’s gonna have pretty words to say back to you." Raziah’s eyes turned apathetic as she stated with a flat voice.
Turning around, she analyzed the whole room before her. Had no one seen where that spear had come flying out from? She couldn’t say she didn’t suspect her husband, or even herself because, with the way she keeps on doing inhuman things these days, she wouldn’t be surprised if she found out she was the one who somehow summoned that spear out of nowhere without even knowing. It’s crazy how the supernatural world can make you think, and the obstacles you’re bound to face sooner or later.
’ One seeks out for life ’
’ One craves for death ’
The meaning was clear. Those words were like the story of her life and that of her mother. Good and bad. Balance and imbalance. Strong and weak. Warmth and cold. Life... And death. Complete opposites.
"Love me back." Aragon suddenly proclaimed before her, and she turned her attention back to him. He didn’t sound desperate to her, and neither did he go out of line. His tone had just the perfect amount of authority in them, and her dim eyes just looked at his.
Though she was curious about what he was getting at now. What good will it ever bring to his table if she loves him? She would only end up driving the both of them crazy. Raziah scoffed mentally... What devious plot does he have set up for her when she does love him back?
"No problem." She stepped up to him and placed small kisses on each of his eyes dryly, "I, Raziah Octavius hereby acknowledge your feelings for me and I have decided to love you back immediately!" Her hazel eyes changed into icy shards of deep hatred that sunk into his soul, "If it’s love you want, it’s love you’re gonna get, your Majesty." She clenched her fists, spitting out the final words to top it all off, "I love you, Aragon Odysseus."
