Chapter 43 "Would you like to go up and sit down?"
At nine o'clock in the evening, Lin Shutang finished his tutoring and came down the stairs. Li Yansheng was still in the living room.
He sat on a single sofa with his back to the stairs. There was no one else there except him. When Lin Shutang approached, he saw a cup of tea in front of him, drinking it alone, without closing his eyes to rest as usual.
Hearing the footsteps approaching, Li Yansheng stood up, picked up the coat on the sofa, and stepped out of the door before her.
A black Bentley was parked at the door. Li Yansheng was driving the car himself because his assistant was away.
After getting in the car, Li Yansheng lowered the window and said, "Get in. I'll take you home."
It seemed as if he stopped here just to wait for her.
Seeing that Lin Shutang was still standing at the door with no intention of moving, Li Yansheng spoke again: "Don't make me say it a second time."
The calm male voice spoke in a gentle tone, but the words were undeniably cold and hard. Lin Shutang finally gave up on refusing and walked to the passenger seat, opened the door and got in.
The moment her hand touched the handlebars, she felt a cool, astringent sensation, which cleared her confused mind a little.
Someone must have just smoked in the car; there was a faint smell of tobacco inside, not too strong, not offensive. Fastening my seatbelt, soothing car music played, easing the stagnant atmosphere slightly. But no one spoke, a hint of impending trouble.
As the car pulled out of the Chen family compound, Li Yansheng's phone rang, but he didn't answer. It must have been something important, because after Li Yansheng hung up, the other party called several more times.
Seeing that he still had no intention of answering the call, Lin Shutang said, "You're not going to answer it?"
Li Yansheng didn't answer her, but only asked: "Where are you going back to?"
Such a short question gave Lin Shutang the illusion that they had known each other for a long time.
She replied: "Rented house."
Hearing this, Li Yansheng turned the steering wheel to the left and entered the turning lane.
This time, the car did not stop at the gate, but drove all the way downstairs.

Lin Shutang tightened his hands on his knees and suddenly asked, "Do you want to go up and sit down?"

Li Yansheng tilted his head, his gaze scanning her with scrutiny. Under the light, the girl's eyes shimmered with a shimmering, moist glow, and as they flickered, one could see the uneasiness hidden deep within.

As she said that, she sat up straight, waiting for him to unlock the car and get out.
The man said, "I told you that some things are not suitable for you to do."
Lin Shutang listened to these words with a didactic tone again, and the tension in his heart disappeared, leaving only irritation.
"How do you know it's inappropriate if you haven't done it?"
"You're still young, and there are things you can't see clearly. It's understandable to make the wrong decision in the heat of the moment, but there's no guarantee you won't regret it later."
Lin Shutang pressed on relentlessly, seemingly in a competitive mood. "I know exactly what I'm doing. There's no such thing as regrets when it comes to relationships; you just follow your heart. But Mr. Li, you gave me a card, and now you're saying this? You say one thing, but you act differently. Who can't see clearly?"
This long string of words, spoken with such emotion that it could be continued without interruption, ended, and when she calmed down, she felt that she had been a little too arrogant. She thought that this was probably the first time in Li Yansheng's life that someone had questioned him like this.
