Chapter 56
Mu Xue gritted her teeth and glared at the silent Leng Huai. She deliberately tugged on the spider silk, causing Leng Huai to break out in a cold sweat but he didn't utter a sound.
"It hurts, doesn't it? Do you know how much it hurt when you slapped me in the chest? It hurt a hundred times more than this! My brother begged you so much, but you still wouldn't let him go. You're so cruel!"
Mu Xue snorted coldly. She wanted to see just how long Leng Huai could endure it!
She continued to pull on the silk thread in her hand until she had cut a deep gash in Leng Huai's arm.
Leng Huai gasped, enduring the pain in his arm without uttering a sound.
Mu Xue felt a surge of anger welling up inside her, and she roared, "Leng Huai! It's come to this point, why aren't you begging me?!"
She wanted to torture him terribly, to see him lose everything, and kneel before her, crying and begging for her mercy!
She didn't believe Leng Huai had no weaknesses!
Large beads of sweat rolled down Leng Huai's forehead, his lips were pale, but a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth: "Mu Xue! Even if you kill me right now, I won't beg you!"
"Want to die? Not so easy!" Mu Xue wouldn't be fooled by Leng Huai's words; she was the one in control now.
Her cold eyes narrowed slightly as she released the queen ant from the cage.
Mo Xiaoxin was shocked to see a huge ant head peeking out from inside the door.
Its body was ten times larger than these ants, and its head completely filled the door frame.
As soon as the queen ant appeared, the ants, who had been in a panic like headless flies, instantly perked up.
How could the queen ant allow an ordinary demon to bully her?
At a command, the ants lined up and launched a frenzied attack on Mo Xiaoxin, completely different from when they were without the queen leading the way. They opened their mouths wide and used their sharp teeth to bite the snake that was spitting at them.
The snakes suffered heavy losses from the bites, and even in their final moments, they spat at the ants in a last struggle.
Many ants were also poisoned; after taking a few bites, they all collapsed and stopped moving.
The battle raged fiercely, and Mo Xiaoxin watched from behind with trepidation.
There weren't many snakes to begin with, and they would definitely be eaten up by these ants in a little while.
What should I do? If these ants eat her up, she'll be in excruciating pain!
It would be better to just jump off a cliff and die; at worst, you'd only lose a million.
However, she has been unconscious for some time now, and it is uncertain whether she will return to the state before she came to the cave after waking up.
Mo Xiaoxin kept backing away. She glanced back and realized that if she took another step back, she would fall off the cliff.
The other two paths are also blocked; once the woman in red activates the mechanism, she will inevitably fall.
Mu Xue's eyes gleamed as she excitedly exclaimed, "Look! Your woman is being eaten alive by ants! And you're still so indifferent?"
Leng Huai's spiritual power and blood were being drained by the silk threads, and his physical strength was almost exhausted. Even though his eyelids were heavy, he kept his eyes fixed on Mo Xiaoxin's direction, not daring to miss a single detail.
Mo Xiaoxin just slipped and fell. He wanted to rush over immediately, but he was completely helpless.
"You want me to beg you, right? Fine, I beg you, let her go, she's innocent," Leng Huai said in a low, humble voice.
Mu Xue seemed to have heard something very strange. She walked closer to Leng Huai in disbelief, staring at him with wide eyes: "What did you just say? Say it again!"
"Please, let her go..." Leng Huai gasped for breath, struggling to even utter a few words.
Mu Xue looked up at the sky: "Father! Brother! Did you hear that? He's begging me, he's begging me to let him go. Do you think I should let him go?"
She laughed wildly and loudly, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably: "Yes, how could I possibly let him go? I will never let him go in my life!"
As Mu Xue spoke, a ruthless glint appeared in her eyes, and she revealed a cruel smile: "I want you to watch her suffer and die with your own eyes!"
Mo Xiaoxin overheard the conversation between the woman and Leng Huai.
Leng Huai actually went to beg the woman in red for her sake!
I don't know what grudge this crazy woman has against Leng Huai, she's so perverted! And this woman seems to have quite a bit of magical power, she comes up with all sorts of strange and bizarre tricks to bewitch people.
The snake had been completely devoured by the ants, leaving not even a bone fragment. Mo Xiaoxin had nowhere to retreat and could only watch helplessly as the ants crawled towards her.
She gritted her teeth and began to fight the ants.
She only awakened the Five Elements magic today and hasn't practiced it much yet. The only magic she knows is the fire magic that Leng Huai taught her.
She first used fire to create a chasm between herself and the ants, spitting the ants outside the wall of fire before she had a moment to catch her breath and start thinking about how to deal with them.
You only realize how little you know when you need it.
She only understood this today; with the enemy in front of her, her magic was utterly useless!
It's true that surviving alongside the strong isn't easy; you have to stay strong too.
After thinking it over, she couldn't come up with a good solution, so she had no choice but to use the fire to burn the ants to death.
To her utter astonishment, the ants were initially afraid of the fire and dared not approach. The queen ant chirped twice from behind, and the ants charged forward headlong! The ants were instantly engulfed in fire, their cries of pain echoing throughout the cave, while the ants behind trampled over them.
Seeing this, Mo Xiaoxin dared not be careless and quickly set off two more rows of fire in front of her. The three rows of raging flames reflected on her face, and she felt as if her whole body was being roasted by fire, burning hot.
Even so, ants continued to surge forward relentlessly. They showed no fear of death; at the queen's command, they mindlessly sacrificed their lives. Countless ants charged into battle, acting as shields of death to pave the way for those behind them.
Mo Xiaoxin exclaimed, "I have to say, ants are really united."
The first row of flames had already been breached by the ants, followed by the second row, and then the third row.
Mo Xiaoxin looked at the ants peeking out through the firelight and smelled the burnt smell, which made her feel nauseous.
The ants' attack grew increasingly fierce, and before long, Mo Xiaoxin was forced to the edge of the platform.
If ranged attacks don't work, we'll have to fight head-on.
But she was no match for these ants on her own. She stumbled and lost her balance, falling to the ground.
Fortunately, she reacted quickly and grabbed the edge of the platform with one hand. She looked up at the ants crawling towards her, their sharp fangs bared as they were about to bite her fingers.
She frowned. The edge of the platform was very slippery, and in her panic, she lost her grip and fell.
Leng Huai opened his eyes wide and shouted hoarsely, "Mo Qiuxin!!"
Watching Mo Xiaoxin disappear from the high platform, his heart sank along with her.
"Boom!"
The third door slowly opened, and a thick vine shot out quickly, catching the falling Mo Xiaoxin at lightning speed.
Mo Xiaoxin had already closed her eyes, having given up all hope, when suddenly something wrapped around her waist. When she opened her eyes, she immediately saw a thick vine.
The rapid fall and subsequent ascent left Mo Xiaoxin feeling dizzy. She squeezed the vines tightly wrapped around her waist, trying to loosen them; she felt like throwing up.
As if it were sentient, the vines knew her thoughts, slowed down and loosened their grip a little, and if she wasn't mistaken, they even pinched her waist deliberately.
"Is this a lecherous vine?" Mo Xiaoxin wondered to herself.
This sudden turn of events stunned Leng Huai, and the tension that had just risen to his throat instantly became stuck there, neither rising nor falling.
Mu Xue admired her masterpiece, watching with satisfaction as the vine placed Mo Xiaoxin back on the high platform.
The vine stretched out in front of Mu Xue as if it had done something and wanted a reward. Mu Xue naturally understood what the vine meant, so she cut her finger and dripped a drop of blood onto the vine.
The vines trembled with joy, then retreated, their roots intertwining around the high platform as if monitoring Mo Xiaoxin's every move.
Seeing Leng Huai's astonished expression, Mu Xue smiled smugly: "How about it? You've changed so much in just one day, haven't you?"
Leng Huai: "How did you do that? You're a spider demon, not an earth demon, so how can you control them?"
Mu Xue resumed her indifferent demeanor, looking coldly at Leng Huai with disdain in her eyes: "In this Illusionary Spirit Abyss, I am the ruler! Everything here is under my control. I have been cultivating here for tens of thousands of years, and every flower, every blade of grass, and every tree here is nourished by my spider blood."
Leng Huai's eyes narrowed, and he secretly thought that something was wrong.
The trees in this Illusionary Abyss were all tainted by Mu Xue's blood. Although spider blood has excellent planting ability, it is extremely poisonous. Fortunately, he did not transplant them into the palace, otherwise everyone would have been troubled by the poison emitted by these trees.
Fortunately, he and Mo Xiaoxin were already suffering from various toxins, which saved them from death.
“The Illusionary Spirit Abyss was originally a barren wasteland, but it was because of me that flowers, grass and trees grew here. If I hadn’t spread the word that you could cultivate here, you probably wouldn’t have come here.”
"You've really played a very big game."
It had been a long time since I had seen Mu Xue. She had shed her naivety and was now stunningly beautiful, yet she possessed a ruthless and venomous edge.
Mu Xue: "You flatter me."
The little swindler of yesteryear has now transformed into a cunning strategist consumed by hatred, single-mindedly focused on revenge. If it weren't for this thorn in her side, she probably wouldn't have survived this long on her own.
Mu Xue looked at the vines, her voice devoid of any emotion: "You know what to do."
The vines twisted a few times, and then sprouted sharp branches.
The branches tightly bound Mo Xiaoxin's limbs, lifting her into the air, and then whipped her hard with another branch.
Mo Xiaoxin grimaced in pain; this was worse than being killed alive.
She quickly took a painkiller, and the pain subsided.
Mo Xiaoxin wanted to use fire to burn the vines, but her hands were firmly restrained, limiting her strength. She concentrated her mind and gathered all her spiritual power in her palms.
Just as she lit a small flame, the vines swiftly whipped her palm with their branches, extinguishing the flame instantly and leaving a deep welt on her hand.
She tried a few more times, refusing to believe it, but the vines already knew what Mo Xiaoxin was thinking and completely blocked her idea.
The vines seemed to be punishing Mo Xiaoxin, and they attacked even more fiercely.
Mo Xiaoxin's body was covered in countless whip marks, and blood dripped from her body onto the high platform, a shocking sight.
If she continues to be beaten like this, she will probably bleed to death.
Seeing Mo Xiaoxin being tortured like this, Leng Huai's heart began to ache.
He hadn't felt heartache in a long time.
Why?
Why would he be heartbroken over Mo Xiaoxin?
He shouldn't be having these kinds of feelings.
But the anger in his chest made him clench his fists, the veins on his forehead bulged, and he used his last bit of spiritual power to spew out a burst of flames.
