Chapter 7 Dealing with the Ex-Boyfriend

The police officer took the phone: "Hello, we received a report that there is prostitution going on here. The person involved said that you asked them to wait for you in the room. What's the situation?"

Ji Lin'an frowned and pretended to be scared, saying, "Officer, he asked me to book the room. He said he was afraid his wife would find out about his hotel records. I didn't know he was soliciting prostitutes. It has nothing to do with me. I was just helping him book the room."

The police officer's tone was somewhat cold: "Okay, then please go to the police station to cooperate with the statement taking."

Ji Lin'an quickly agreed, "Okay, okay, I'll be there in a bit."

After hanging up the phone, we opened the emergency exit door a crack and heard Zhu Chen and Jiang Kexin shouting. We felt a surge of satisfaction as we watched them being handcuffed and taken away by the police.

We got home half an hour before the zombie outbreak, and while waiting for the police to arrive, I went to the hotel restaurant and packed more than a dozen dishes.

Ji Lin'an looked at me and laughed, "What a little glutton! I wonder what you'll do when you can't eat it in the apocalypse."

I proudly raised my head: "Food is the most important thing for people. So what if I'm just an ordinary citizen who likes to eat a little? Even though it's your money, you're not allowed to say anything to me. I'm your dear partner."

Ji Lin'an smiled and helped me put a few dishes into the refrigerator.

The zombie outbreak was complete, and the city fell. At first, there was still a lot of news, but gradually the news reports became less and less frequent. On social media platforms, there were many videos of the zombie outbreak. I followed several bloggers, but soon these bloggers stopped updating. I knew they might have become my targets.

After Zhu Chen and Jiang Kexin were taken away by the police, we spent three months peacefully, just like in the future scene. Ji Lin'an and I completed the three-month mission. He accumulated 8510 points, and I accumulated 9140 points. Ji Lin'an opened the accessory library and exchanged two silencers for 3000 points. He exchanged a lightweight Lugermark 4 pistol for me for 5000 points. He himself still uses the AK47. It's not that he doesn't want to exchange for something else, but he doesn't have any points left. He originally thought he could use my points to exchange for other things, but my points only support my space and skills. I haven't used my points yet and plan to save enough points to exchange for space expansion.

The surrounding zombies had been wiped out, and Ji Lin'an prepared to go down the mountain to lure them in. After practicing the drone's operation many times, Ji Lin'an decided to observe the situation at the foot of the mountain before heading down. The drone started up, and unlike the scenes of the previous days, there were almost no zombies to be seen at the foot of the mountain. After flying two more blocks ahead, he could see ant-sized zombies densely packed together, forming a small mountain, but it was unclear what they were surrounding. Five minutes, ten minutes passed, and the zombies were still swarming around that target point.

I frowned: "What on earth could keep the zombies blocking our way for so long? If it were a few living people, they would have been devoured long ago."

Ji Lin'an nodded: "I'm also quite curious, why don't we go take a look?"

I replied excitedly, "Sure, that's exactly what I was thinking."

Perhaps because all we do every day is eat, drink, relieve ourselves, sleep, and kill zombies, life is really boring. If we could talk to Ji Lin'an about something else, we wouldn't be so curious about every little thing.

It was just past December, and the weather was unusually cold. Although it hadn't snowed, the wind was biting. I wore several layers of clothing, just in case I got scratched or bitten by zombies. When I got to the foot of the mountain, I couldn't control my panic. My woman's intuition told me that something was going to happen. For safety's sake, we parked the car on the side of the road. Ji Lin'an was in charge of keeping watch, while I went into Future Island to check out the future scenes.

Three months after the zombie outbreak, Ji Lin'an and I drove to the zombie-infested area as observed by the drone. We parked a short distance away and walked over. We walked along the edge of the building to within 5 meters of the zombies. The zombies were frantically piling up like a human pyramid, rushing towards the center. We couldn't see anything in the middle at all. We tried three different angles but still couldn't figure out what was inside.

Ji Lin'an pointed ahead: "I'll make some noise on that street ahead to attract the zombies. Once they're all gone, go and see what's in the middle. Be careful, and if there are still zombies, don't move rashly. Wait for me to come over."

I nodded in agreement. Ji Lin'an, gun in hand, stealthily walked to the next street. Five minutes later, we heard a firecracker explode. The gathered zombies immediately turned and rushed towards the sound. Only a few zombies at the bottom remained, seemingly with broken legs and arms from being crushed by other zombies, making them unable to move easily. In addition, being at the bottom, their hearing was limited, so they probably didn't hear the explosion. I had the urge to go and deal with the zombies with broken arms and legs, but I chickened out. I decided to wait for Ji Lin'an to come over before we acted together.

Several minutes passed without any sign of Ji Lin'an. I sent him a message, but he didn't reply. I panicked. Looking around and seeing no one, I couldn't resist turning on my phone's camera and quietly walking to the area where the zombies were gathered. I quickly filmed for about ten seconds before turning and running. Seeing that no zombies were following me, I headed towards the direction where Ji Lin'an had lit the firecrackers. I could already see zombies everywhere where the explosion had occurred. A few zombies were huddled around the firecracker remnants, while the others wandered aimlessly nearby. But I hadn't seen Ji Lin'an along the way. I searched in another direction along the street, but still couldn't find him. I found a secluded spot and hid, whispering to Xiao Bing, "Xiao Bing, Xiao Bing, how do you know if your partner is still alive?"

"Master, Master, you can go to your friends list and click on your partner's avatar three times to check your partner's location. If it shows that no location was found, it means your partner has been killed."
