The news of Gu Sidu and Jiang Yufan's upcoming marriage spread throughout Chang Le City. The people of the city spontaneously sent many gifts, which piled up at the gate of the Gu residence. When the servant opened the gate, everyone was stunned, wondering how they could accept so many gifts.

The servant told Jiang Yufan about this and asked if she should accept the gifts. After listening, Jiang Yufan simply told them to accept them and that she would secretly record the names on the register and send a wedding favor the following spring.

This winter was spent busy preparing for the Lunar New Year and the wedding in the spring; time flew by. There were so many things to prepare and plan. Jiang Yufan and Gu Sidu talked a lot about how to make the complicated wedding both grand and simple.

The banquet and feast were intoxicating, and everyone was so happy they wouldn't leave until they were drunk. However, it was also a bit restrained. Jiang Yufan planned to choose gift boxes and a jar of wine with Gu Sidu and deliver them to each household's doorstep, as if they were attending the banquet together. After going through all the proper wedding rituals, that would be about it.

Since Magistrate Xu Zhian needs to contribute money, the gifts given to him will naturally be more valuable. On the day of the wedding, we will arrange for a procession of red bridal makeup and scatter wedding candies along the streets to share in the joy.

There's just one problem: Jiang Yufan and Gu Sidu don't have parents, so how can they pay respects to their elders? And since they live together, the bridal sedan chair can't just leave the official residence and return from there.

Gu Sidu came up with a solution: "The house we stayed in when we first arrived in Chang Le City is still empty. Why don't we pick up the sedan chair from there and bring it here?"

"We won't bow to our parents; we can just break off a branch and worship heaven and earth ourselves."

“Speaking of which, I have something to say,” Jiang Yufan said. “That house is just sitting empty, not being used to its full potential. Think about what to do with it.”

"The Bodhisattva can do whatever he wants with it. My money and everything I own belong to the Bodhisattva, and I'm completely at the Bodhisattva's behest." Gu Sidu had almost forgotten that he even owned such a house.

“If it’s up to me,” Jiang Yufan paused, looking at Daoyun who was playing with the wicks of a lantern not far away, “I want to give this house to Daoyun.”

"Ah," Dao Yun suddenly raised his head and looked at Jiang Yu Fan, "Buddha Maiden, what did you say?"

“I told you I wanted to give you that house. You don’t have a place to live. When we settle down in Chang Le City, having a house will always be a safety net. You don’t have any family, but we are all your family. If you find someone you like in the future, this will give you confidence.”

"Although the house is not large, it is enough for an ordinary family. You can do whatever you want with it; you can live in it or sell it."

“Buddha, I don’t need these things.” Dao Yun waved his hand, these were too precious.

“Why not? You’re practically family to the Bodhisattva. The house is under your name, so you can accompany the Bodhisattva as she leaves the house in her sedan chair,” Gu Sidu said to Daoyun.

All of this makes sense, and it can be considered as providing Jiang Yufan with a place to go. Upon hearing this, Daoyun stood up and bowed to Jiang Yufan and Gu Sidu: "I understand the meaning of the Buddhist nun and Lord Gu, and I am deeply grateful. Lord Gu, I entrust the Buddhist nun to you from now on. I wish the Buddhist nun and Lord Gu happiness and peace in the future."

Gu Sidu and Jiang Yufan were the same.

The wedding was held in the flourishing spring, when all the flowers were in bloom. The jewelry and ornaments worn by Jiang Yufan were all provided by Gu Sidu. With her eyebrows drawn and makeup done, Jiang Yufan put on the phoenix crown, headdress and earrings that Gu Sidu had put on her again, and she was transformed back into a beautiful goddess. The girl waiting to be married had finally arrived at the most important moment in all women's lives.

"Buddha Maiden, you are truly beautiful." Dao Yun stood behind Jiang Yu Fan, looking at her reflection in the mirror, unable to help but admire her, yet also feeling a pang of regret in her heart. If the Jiang family had shown any pity, the Buddha Maiden's life would have been better. This regret only lasted a moment in Dao Yun's heart. If the Jiang family had shown any pity, then she would never have met the Buddha Maiden. She and the Buddha Maiden were destined to meet.

"Daoyun, my life is complete at this moment. I always thought this day would never come, but it seems that God is guiding us and everything has its own ending."

Perhaps so, Jiang Yufan looked at herself in the mirror and smiled slightly. She put the veil back on, reached out her hand to Daoyun, and embarked on a brand new day.

The journey was filled with lively music and laughter, with the deafening sound of suona horns. People who came to offer their blessings were showered with wedding candies. Gu Sidu rode a tall horse at the very front, wearing a flower on his chest, looking radiant.

Thinking back to when he passed the imperial examination, Gu Sidu was also very proud. It's just that time has passed and things have changed, but Gu Sidu still feels happy.

Whatever way you live your life, it's still living. Whether you live in fear or live comfortably, you're still living. So why not just live life to the fullest and be carefree?

Congratulations and the sound of suona horns filled the air all day. Finally, at dusk, the sedan chair arrived at the gate of the Gu residence. Gu Sidu turned back on his horse and watched as Daoyun lifted the sedan chair curtain to welcome the bride alighting.

Jiang Yufan secretly raised her eyes amidst the dark red glow. Through the gap, she caught a glimpse of Gu Sidu's spirited face. In that single glance, it was as if she saw the Gu Sidu of the past. It seemed that they hadn't missed anything between them. By a twist of fate, a noblewoman was getting married, and a talented young man, at the best age, found the best version of each other.

The matchmaker urged the groom to quickly carry the bride into the mansion, reminding him that the bride's feet should not touch the ground. Gu Sidu then realized this, dismounted, and picked up the person from the sedan chair. At this moment, Gu Sidu was overjoyed, with a joy that made him want to rush forward. Regardless of the other ceremonies, Gu Sidu only knew that Jiang Yufan was in his arms, and he had the most precious treasure in the world.

Jiang Yufan originally thought she would have to complete those rituals with Gu Sidu. Her face was covered and she couldn't see her surroundings clearly. She was worried, but at this moment she felt Gu Sidu carrying her and running forward.

Why is this happening? Aren't all those rituals going to be completed? Jiang Yufan was a little scared. She hugged Gu Sidu's neck tightly and whispered, "Where are you going? Why are you in such a hurry?"

"I'm in a hurry, Bodhisattva, these empty formalities are unnecessary."

They were in a hurry to get married, to consummate their marriage, and to turn this world into a place where only the two of them existed.

Jiang Yufan couldn't help but laugh when she heard this, their clothes fluttering in the wind. Perhaps tomorrow, there would be a joke in Chang Le City, saying that Lord Gu Sidu was too impatient, that he loved his wife so much that he disregarded etiquette and was already thinking about consummating the marriage.

Gu Sidu didn't care about these things. If people thought that way, that's how they thought. He had the best wife in the world, and with such a wife, he was unwilling to waste any time.

Finally, after the traditional wedding ceremony, Gu Sidu was able to lift Jiang Yufan's veil. What came into Gu Sidu's eyes was a bright and beautiful face. Her lowered eyebrows and eyes made her look like a god or bodhisattva descended to earth. When she raised her eyebrows and eyes, she had a gentle and worldly tenderness that made her captivating and unforgettable.

It was this face that reminded Gu Sidu of so many things. He had fainted in front of this face, lost face countless times, seen its vulnerability, and witnessed its unwavering resolve. And now, he could finally rightfully take this hand in his own. He placed Jiang Yufan's hand on his heart and smiled at her.

In Jiang Yufan's eyes, there were many images of Gu Sidu's face: a face where he fainted in front of her, a face with a kind heart, a face that was drunk and unrestrained, and a face that was firm and unrepentant. All of these have shaped Gu Sidu into the person he is today, and that is why she is with him.

"Gu Sidu, we are getting married today."

“No, don’t call me that. Today we are getting married, we should change how we address each other,” Gu Sidu moved closer to Jiang Yufan. “I know the Bodhisattva is shy, I’ll go first.”

He placed the earring close to Jiang Yufan's ear, and with just a glance down, Gu Sidu could see it swaying gently, the earring he had personally chosen for her touching his heart. His throat tightened, and he gently caressed Jiang Yufan's earlobe: "I hope you will take good care of me in the future, Madam."

Jiang Yufan rarely got so close to anyone. Her face flushed, and she nervously gripped Gu Sidu's belt. She could touch Gu Sidu's cheek with just a turn of her head. She parted her lips slightly and whispered in Gu Sidu's ear, "Husband."

Because of those two words, Jiang Yufan suddenly felt her belt loosen. When she looked down, she saw her loose belt. Gu Sidu grabbed her hands and pulled her to unbutton Gu Sidu's clothes.

The warmth from his waist spread through Jiang Yufan's flesh. Gu Sidu rolled over and pinned her beneath him. The candlelight flickered slightly. Jiang Yufan lay on the pillow, meeting his captivating eyes. Gu Sidu was still able to prop his head up and look at her, gently tracing and caressing her lips.

"So beautiful, Madam is the most beautiful woman in the world." Gu Sidu personally took off Jiang Yufan's earrings and placed them on the bedside table. The hairpin was also removed afterward, and her long hair cascaded down like a waterfall, as if the Milky Way had fallen to earth.

Without those fancy decorations, Jiang Yufan was even more beautiful in her simple attire. She looked at Gu Sidu with shyness, her hand slowly moving forward to touch Gu Sidu's cheek, and then gently caressing Gu Sidu's lips.

She tacitly allowed Gu Sidu to get closer and closer, waiting for his lips to press against the heat and envelop Jiang Yufan. The curtains were gently swayed, the moonlight was perfect, and the flowers were in full bloom. It was the perfect time for the mandarin ducks to entwine.

The clothes were ripped off and carelessly thrown on the ground. Jiang Yufan was a little annoyed. She gently punched Gu Sidu's shoulder: "Those clothes are very expensive. How can you just throw them away like that?"

“If it’s broken or dirty, just buy a new one. My husband has money, and all of his money goes to his wife.” Gu Sidu’s voice was already hoarse. Before his eyes was a white expanse shimmering with waves. The flickering candlelight reflected the falling petals outside the window, drifting and floating in the beautiful spring night.

Tonight is a sleepless night.
