Why hasn't Fei Yan come back yet?

“Empress Consort,” Zi Teng whispered to me again.

"I understand." I glared at the wisteria and stood up angrily.

I refuse to believe it! I come here every day, how could Fei Yan not be here every time? Even if Zi Teng intentionally tries to distract Fei Yan, so many people are watching me wait here today. When Fei Yan comes back, do you think she won't know?

I returned to my room, seething with anger. The entire palace exuded an ancient and heavy sense of history, but my room was uniquely modern.

As soon as I got back to my room, Hu Ma asked me, "What do you want to eat today?"

I'm so angry I'm full, I don't even feel like eating.

I waved my hand dismissively and said dejectedly, "I'm not eating today."

I walked around outside all day and I'm really tired. I rubbed my swollen calves and lay back on the bed, thinking to myself that I must keep a close eye on Wisteria tomorrow. It would be strange if Wisteria didn't cause any trouble today.

I sighed, reminiscing about the days when I held absolute power in the Heavenly Court, where petty tricks like those of the wisteria could never get close to me. But now, I've lost my magic and am at their mercy! The people of Guixu address me respectfully as "Imperial Consort," but how many of them truly respect me?

The next day, I hastily ate a couple of bites of food and then dragged Zifang out again, our destination still Feiyan.

This time, I learned my lesson and held onto the wisteria tightly the whole way, not letting her leave my side for even a moment, to prevent her from tipping me off again.

"What? Fei Yan isn't here again?" I asked in surprise as I stood in front of Fei Yan's palace. The disciple who answered me was the same one from yesterday, "Lady Fei Yan just left."

"Just left again?" I glanced at the wisteria I was holding onto.

The servant, somewhat embarrassed, smiled apologetically, "Your Majesty, your timing these past few days has been very inconvenient. My master rarely comes out unless he has official business, but for some reason these past two days..."

I bit my lip angrily after hearing what the doorman said, and turned to look at the wisteria.

When Zi Teng noticed my gaze, her face remained calm, and she obediently lowered her eyebrows.

I suppressed my anger and whispered in Zi Teng's ear, "I know it was you."

Wisteria looked at me with a puzzled expression. "Imperial Consort? What do you mean by that?"

I sneered, didn't answer, and lifted the hem of my skirt to sit on Fei Yan's palace again, just like yesterday, waiting.

The tea was changed countless times, and I waited from dawn till dusk until the evening glow appeared, but Fei Yan still didn't return.

I gently blew on the teacup. Damn it, what method did Zi Teng use to lure Fei Yan out? She's been gone for half a day each time for two days in a row.

"The Empress".

Before Zifang could finish speaking, I put down my teacup, stood up, and said, "Is it time? Let's go." Waiting any longer would be pointless.

Zi Teng paused for a moment, then quickly followed beside me, supporting my hand.

I hate Wisteria with a passion that I can't even bring myself to do anything about it.

I rubbed my fingertips together, pondering to myself, "If I were to ask Liu Lieyu to replace my servant, I wonder if he would agree."

Today was another day of busywork.

I sighed and set off again on my way back to my little cell.

Lately, I've been extremely sleepy. Just now, in the Feiyan Palace, I almost fell asleep several times.

As soon as I got back to my room, Fei Yan and the others locked the door, and I lay back down on the bed, ready to sleep.

I'll go again tomorrow. If that still doesn't work, then I'll have to risk trying to get Liu Lieyu to replace my servant. It's really inconvenient with Zi Teng around.
