Sixty-five

After leaving the city lord's mansion, I went straight to Liuyun Tower. There was still a while before the time I agreed with Yu Yuejiao. I looked around Liuyun Tower and went up to the second floor. I found a window seat, ordered some snacks and tea, and waited.

Looking down from my vantage point, I saw a small stage set up in the center of the lobby on the first floor. The person on the stage was telling jokes with great enthusiasm, and bursts of laughter could be heard from below the stage from time to time.

I picked up the snacks on the table, took a sip of tea, and listened attentively. The person was quite good at speaking, so I nodded in approval. Then I popped more snacks into my mouth; the snacks were delicious too.

"Young Master arrived quite early."

I didn't realize Yuejiao was sitting across from me until he started talking to me. My attention was completely drawn to the jokes being told downstairs.

I nodded slightly, sizing up Yue Jiao. I was puzzled. Yue Jiao should already know my true identity, so why was he still calling me Young Master You? But since he didn't want to explain, I naturally wouldn't take the initiative to explain.

"Has the young master made up his mind?"

"I'll go with you," I said softly, my eyes lowered.

Yuejiao seemed unsurprised by my answer. "My carriage and entourage are waiting outside the city, ready to depart at any time. Is there anything you need to prepare?"

"I'll go find my companion first, and we'll meet up outside the city later."

"Okay." Yue Jiao nodded gently and left quietly, just as he had come.

I sat in Liuyunlou for a while, finished my last cup of tea, packed up the leftover snacks on the table, and then left Liuyunlou.

I shook the pastries in my hand, smiled with narrowed eyes. The rest of these were just enough to take back to Feng Su and the others. Feng Su and Hao were the two gluttons the most.

Just as she was thinking of Feng Su, she looked up and saw Feng Su standing at the door, her golden hair particularly eye-catching.

"Feng Su!" I shouted and waved vigorously at Feng Su.

"Master!" Feng Su's beautiful eyes lit up the moment she saw me. She ran to me excitedly and said, "Master, you're finally back! I missed you so much." Then she hugged me tightly.

I raised my hand and rubbed Feng Su's head. It was a bit difficult to touch Feng Su's head, after all, Feng Su was a head taller than me.

"Okay, look, I brought you some delicious snacks."

"What snacks?" Feng Su let go of me and immediately saw the snacks I was carrying. "Snacks. I knew Master wouldn't forget that I thoughtfully brought snacks for me." Feng Su took the snacks from my hand, ate one, and said.

"Eat slowly." I couldn't help but laugh and remind Feng Su as she ate. "There's some left, so you can share it with Hao and the others."

"Okay." Feng Su nodded.

The noise Feng Su and I made at the door startled Luo. "My lord, you're back."

I turned my gaze to Luo, nodded, and asked, "Is everyone here?"

"They're all here." Luo nodded. Just as Luo and I were talking, Feng Su took some snacks and went into the courtyard, probably to find Hao and the others.

"Then you should pack up and set off. Yuejiao is waiting outside the city."

Luo nodded and remained silent for a long time before speaking again, "Master, are you really going?"

I looked intently into Luo's eyes, a rare moment of seriousness, and said firmly, "Go."

Luo pursed her lips and remained silent, standing quietly to the side. To be honest, I still can't understand Luo's thoughts. I both rely on Luo and worry about her.

I turned my gaze away, shook my head, and stepped into the courtyard. Jin Yu was lazily lying on the corridor, squinting at Feng Su and Hao, who were playing around in the courtyard over snacks.
