Both of them were men. One of them, wearing a down jacket, was lying on the ground with very obvious black veins on his neck.
A man with a crew cut standing next to him looked flustered when he saw us.
"What's going on! What happened?" Upon hearing the commotion, Fei Lichao and Liangzi immediately rushed in with their guns, Liangzi pointing his submachine gun directly at the crew-cut man.
"Didn't you say there was no one here?!" Fei Lichao said, frowning at Liangzi.
"Captain, it was my carelessness." Liangzi was also surprised.
Fei Lichao glanced at the people on the ground and the crew-cut man standing there, and asked, "Who are you?"
The crew-cut man looked panicked and pointed at the person on the ground, saying, "I...you...can you...can you save my friend? He...he's dying!"
Fei Lichao glanced at the man lying on the ground, then gave me a wink.
I immediately understood what he meant. I walked over to the man lying face down, pulled open his collar, and the black veins on his neck were immediately exposed.
I asked, "Was your friend bitten?"
"No, no?!" the crew-cut man said uncertainly.
"Are you sure?" I checked and found a bite wound on his ankle. "He's been bitten. He'll probably turn into one of those man-eating monsters in a few minutes."
The crew-cut man looked surprised and asked, "Then, is there any way to save him?"
I glanced at Fei Lichao and shook my head, saying, "No."
Fei Lichao asked, "So, he's going to die no matter what?"
I nodded, recalling the scene I saw in the hospital, and said helplessly, "Yes, black veins have appeared on his neck. This is a symptom of herin virus infection. There's no hope for him."
"Ah! Look!" Wu Shuang said, pointing to the people on the ground.
Sure enough, the man lying on the ground began to arch his back, trembling all over, and was about to change!
"Captain, what should we do?" Liangzi asked.
"Kill them," Fei Lichao said decisively.
