But asking Fei Lichao and his group to find a new, spacious place right now is a bit of an overreaction. Leaving aside the difficulty of finding a suitable location, the man-eating monsters outside are a formidable challenge.
"No matter how urgent it is, we have to wait until the examination is finished!" Fei Lichao pulled Pu Weichao to the door and pushed him out.
After closing the door, Fei Lichao didn't rush to let the next person in.
Instead, he stared at me and asked, "So, what are your thoughts?"
"Huh?" I was a little surprised.
Fei Lichao rolled his eyes. "It's about what that guy just mentioned. What do you think?"
I blinked. I hadn't really thought about this carefully, but I still said, "What he said makes a lot of sense. There are indeed too many people in the air-raid shelter. If this goes on for too long, problems will definitely arise. If we don't handle it properly, something bad might really happen."
Fei Lichao nodded and said, "Understood."
He understands? What does he understand? I frowned slightly, completely confused.
After he finished speaking, he opened the door and let the next person in.
The next two to come in were a mother and her child.
The child was only three or four years old, very cute, and was being held in his mother's arms; he was very clingy. The mother looked very young, probably in her early twenties.
Upon seeing the mother and son, Fei Lichao's usually stern face broke into a rare smile as he said, "Xiaoyun."
"Captain," the mother called out to Fei Lichao.
The child in the mother's arms looked around at everything unfamiliar, puzzled.
Fei Lichao then said, "Wu Shuang, go and examine Xiaoyun and her child."
"Okay, I understand." Wu Shuang led the mother and son into the corner.
I looked at Fei Lichao curiously and asked, "Who is she?"
“She is the wife of my comrade-in-arms, named Liu Yun. She happened to be visiting her husband when the disaster occurred,” Fei Lichao said.
"And who is her husband?"
Fei Lichao looked a little helpless and said, "After we arrived at the air-raid shelter, her husband led a team out for rescue, and they haven't returned yet."
I nodded, understanding what he meant. He hadn't come back for so long; something might have happened.
Two minutes later, Wu Shuang came out from the corner, looked at Fei Lichao and me with a serious expression, and said, "Come here for a moment."
