I hid in the bathroom, but didn't close the door completely. I left it ajar to see who was coming in.
Through the gap, I saw two fully armed soldiers, their faces covered, even wearing helmets and camouflage uniforms, full of equipment.
"Who are they?" I wondered to myself. A moment later, I heard voices from two people outside.
As soon as the two of them came in, they closed the door to the lounge.
The taller one said, "Quick, search him and find the stuff."
Upon hearing this, the short man put down his submachine gun and began searching Liu Neng's body. After searching for a while, the short man said, "Nothing!"
“How could there not be? Search carefully again,” the tall man said, walking to the door and keeping a watchful eye on the outside.
The short man searched again but still found nothing, saying, "Captain, there really isn't any!"
The tall captain frowned, squatted down next to Liu Neng, and began to search him. He found nothing, and muttered, "Impossible, I saw him carrying that thing on him before!"
What is it? I'm so curious!
I looked down at the car keys in my hand; the Mercedes logo was very prominent. Could they be looking for the car keys? That seemed unlikely; what was there to look for in a car key?
Outside, the shorter man said, "Captain, do you think he might have hidden the thing?"
The tall captain shook his head and said, "Impossible. I shot him outside as soon as he entered. He didn't even have a chance to hide!"
"How could they possibly disappear?" the shorter man asked, puzzled. "Could there be other people here?"
I panicked when I heard that. I looked around and found a small window above the toilet, but there were iron bars blocking the outside of the window, so I couldn't climb out!
I swallowed hard, praying silently, "Don't come any closer, don't come any closer..."
"That's impossible. If there were anyone else, they would have found out already," the tall captain said. "Forget it, if we can't find it, we can't find it. Anyway, that guy surnamed Liu is dead, and he can't say what he knows. Let's go, let's get out of this hellhole quickly. I reckon the zombies outside will be coming in a little while."
Without any hesitation, the two left the house after finishing their conversation.
"Phew." I sat on the toilet and breathed a sigh of relief. Those two guys were finally gone.
I quietly came out of the toilet and went to Liu Neng's side, very curious about what the two soldiers were looking for.
However, although I am curious about this matter, I don't want to get involved. Right now, I just want to leave the hospital.
I cautiously approached the doorway, wanting to peek out and see what was happening outside.
But as soon as I stopped, I heard the voices of those two soldiers coming from outside again.
"No! No, no, no! When I was sniping at him outside, I saw that idiot close the door after he went into this room. But when we came in just now, the door was open!" the tall captain suddenly said.
Upon hearing this, my eyes widened, and I cursed inwardly, "You son of a bitch!"
“That means someone went in before we arrived!” the shorter man chimed in.
"It's possible that guy is still in the room!" the tall captain whispered.
He thought I couldn't hear him, but I heard everything! The footsteps of the two soldiers came again, which made me panic.
What should I do? What should I do? I paced around the room, completely at a loss.
Should we hide in the toilet again? No way, they already know there are people in the house, they'll definitely find us in the toilet! Hiding in the toilet is a dead end.
Jump out the window?
Is it too late?
I reckon the two soldiers outside will rush in as soon as I open the window.
But there was no other way! Hiding in the house meant certain death!
Damn it, just die!
I strode forward, my left leg throbbing slightly, and stepped onto the table. As soon as I opened the window, I heard two soldiers had already arrived at the door behind me!
I jumped out of the window without thinking!
Bang!
A faint gunshot rang out from the doorway.
call out!
The bullet grazed just above my head, and I was instantly terrified, my face turning pale and my scalp tingling.
That was close! I almost died!
"Damn it, chase them!" came the tall captain's curse from inside the house.
I didn't dare hesitate in the grass. Crouching low, I stood on the drainage ditch and ran to the left.
After reaching the window of another room, I grabbed the windowsill with both hands and jumped up, vaulting into the room next to the lounge.
As for the two soldiers who were chasing me, they had already jumped out of the window and gone outside, but they didn't see me.
"Where is he?" the short man asked in confusion.
The tall captain glanced around and said, "You on the left, I on the right, we have to find him!"
I didn't dare linger in this room. After climbing in through the window, I went to the door, opened it, and went straight into the hallway.
The stairs were right across the corridor, so I ran over there without hesitation.
Then the short man's voice came from behind: "Captain, that guy went upstairs!"
Damn it, you can even see that?!
I gritted my teeth and endured the pain in my left leg. I glanced back and saw that the guy had climbed back in through the window.
Without a moment's hesitation, I went up to the second floor. I looked around and saw that there were no monsters nearby; it was safe.
Immediately, I ran towards another stairwell on the left. Since they saw me coming up, let them chase after me. I'll just go downstairs first!
